CTC 380: Christmas Tree Project

 Hi!

Thanks for spending your Sunday evening with me, hopping around the new CASEing The Catty Sunday Challenge Blog Hop. We have a new challenge and a blog hop to kick it off every Sunday evening.

This week we are asking you to CASE a project that features a Christmas Tree. It can be from any current catalogue - you have three to choose from!

I found this mini slimline card in the July-December Mini Catalogue, on page 27. I was intrigued by the size of the card, and the stamping across the three panels on the front.

I don't have the products used in the sample, so I had to improvise with what I did have - which is exactly what we want you to do! I used the stamp set from the Love, Santa Tag Kit, which has the lovely branch stamp that I've used on the three panels. The set doesn't have a second stamp to 'colour' the branch, as in the original set used, so I just used my Dark Granny Apple Green Blend to roughly colour over the Garden Green branch.

My baubles were just punched circles of Gold Glimmer paper, with a topper cropped using the Spruced Up Outlines Dies. The DSP is from the Design A Daydream Host DSP pack, with a layer of Vellum over the top to tone down the colour.

I used similar stamping on the inside. Have you made a mini slimline card before? I cut my card to 6" square, scored at 3" to make the base of mine. It's a sweet little size!

We'd love for you to play along this week, by CASEing a Christmas Tree project. Not quite ready to start your Christmas cards yet? Just change the card to be a birthday card, or a thinking of you card. When you've made it, just pop a photo up in our Facebook Group.

Don't forget to finish our blog hop before you dash off to get inky! The next stop along the way is the wonderful Peta Stephen. I love her card - a fabulous take on the challenge!

Bye for now,

JAI 614: Just Add Under The Sea

 Hi!

Thanks for joining me for the new Just Add Ink Challenge. This week Kerry has suggested a cracker of a theme!

Under the sea! What comes to your mind when you hear 'under the sea'? For me, it's a song that I sang many, many years ago in my primary school choir. Luckily, I had the perfect stamp set to go with the memories!

scissorspapercard, Stampin' Up!, Kindred Stamps, Hello Sweetums, Just Add Ink, Top Of The Charts, Sea Of Textures, Whale Of A Time DSP, Water Waves Dies, Copics, Pop Culture Card

These stamps are from a Kindred Stamps set, called Top Of The Charts. I had a fun time colouring these four rockers, singing along as I did.

scissorspapercard, Stampin' Up!, Kindred Stamps, Hello Sweetums, Just Add Ink, Top Of The Charts, Sea Of Textures, Whale Of A Time DSP, Water Waves Dies, Copics, Pop Culture Card

The background was paper from the Whale Of A Time pack - isn't it the perfect choice? Love it! I pulled out my old typewriter to create the sentiment for my card.

scissorspapercard, Stampin' Up!, Kindred Stamps, Hello Sweetums, Just Add Ink, Top Of The Charts, Sea Of Textures, Whale Of A Time DSP, Water Waves Dies, Copics, Pop Culture Card

A huge thanks to my friend, Caroline, who stamped the octopus from Sea Of Textures for the inside of my card, so that I could finish my card off on theme. In case you're thinking that the lyrics are wrong - this is how the final chorus ends. 😊

That's all from me for tonight, but jump on over to the Just Add Ink blog to see the rest of this week's Design Team cards. I hope your mind is full of ideas. I can't wait to see your card!

Bye for now,

Tina

Colour Creations: Cherry Cobbler

 Hi!

Welcome back to the new Colour Creations Blog Hop. This week we are featuring Cherry Cobbler, a deep red from the Regals colour family. With all the new Christmas offerings out recently, I'm sure we'll see more than a few Christmas cards tonight. Not from me though!

I'm pairing the new Tech Support stamp set with this fabulous, masculine colour combo from Brian King. Tech Support was one of my first purchases from the new Annual Catalogue. This next bit may sound strange, but it's not a stamp set that I like particularly much, and I'm struggling to create with it. However, I want Stampin' Up! to create more stamp sets for gamers and computer peeps, and they will only do this if there is demand for it. By buying this stamp set, I hope to show a level of demand, and if you want more sets like this, I hope that you will, too!

Now, on with the card!

scissorspapercard, Stampin' Up!, Colour Creations, Tech Support, Regals DSP, Subtle 3DEF

I started by stamping the keys and cursor in Crumb Cake ink onto Crumb Cake card then embossed it with my Subtle 3DEF. I then layered some banners over the top.

scissorspapercard, Stampin' Up!, Colour Creations, Tech Support, Regals DSP, Subtle 3DEF

I used the binary code stamp in my Stamparatus to create the background layer for my sentiment. I was aiming for it to mimic the 'thinking' symbol in the sentiment. By the way, thanks to a hint from our fabulous Colour Creations coordinator, Catherine Proctor, I watched a SU video on Facebook that talked about the inspiration for different sets. Tech Support was one of those sets, and I discovered that the binary code reads 'for you' in English. How cool - a lovely hidden message on my card!

For those not in the know, an ERROR 404 is a page not found error, so it's a cute play on words to change it to an age not found message. LOL! Maybe I am liking this stamp set, after all!

That's all from me for tonight, but we'd love for you to continue your way around our blog hop. The next stop is my fabulous friend, Kate Morgan, who I'm sure has something wonderful for you to see,

Catherine Proctor keeps the Colour Creation blog hops running smoothly, so if you run into any problems, just jump on over to her blog, where you'll find a list of all of tonight's participants.

HOC Week 4

 Hi!

Monday evening means that it's time once again for the new  Heart Of Christmas Blog Hop. Hooray! I've used many of the same products as I did last week to create another four cards for my stash.

scissorspapercard, Stampin' Up!, Heart Of Christmas, Christmas To Remember, Celebrate Everything Host DSP, Spruced Up Outlines Dies, Sheetload Of Cards, Christmas Card

The Celebrate Everything Host DSP has some unusual colour combos for Christmas papers, but I'm really liking them. The black DSP really makes the bright colours pop.

scissorspapercard, Stampin' Up!, Heart Of Christmas, Christmas To Remember, Celebrate Everything Host DSP, Spruced Up Outlines Dies, Sheetload Of Cards, Christmas Card

I also used my Spruced Up Outlines Dies again. The solid tree was perfect for the front, and the bonus outline tree was put to use on the inside. These outlines make me think of those shaped rubber bands that were all the rage about 10 years ago. Did your kids get into them? I remember Ada having Disney Princess bands!

scissorspapercard, Stampin' Up!, Heart Of Christmas, Christmas To Remember, Celebrate Everything Host DSP, Spruced Up Outlines Dies, Sheetload Of Cards, Christmas Card

Here are my group of four cards, made using the August 2021 Sheetload Of Cards template. Aren't they cheerful and bright? The sentiments on my cards are from Christmas To Remember.

That's all from me on tonight's blog hop, but there's plenty more inspiration to be found! Jump on over to the lovely Catherine Proctor's blog, where you're bound to see something gorgeous.

If you run into a problem, Sharon Davern is our fix-it lady! Pop on over to her blog, where you'll find a list of all participants to help you get back on track.

CTC 379: Sale-A-Bration Catalogue

 Hi!

Welcome back to the new CASEing The Catty Sunday Challenge Blog Hop. Can you believe that it's the end of the week - and for me, the end of the school holidays - already?

This week we are returning to the Sale-A-Bration catalogue. You can CASE any project on any page. I found this fun card on page 4.

Rays Of Light was one of the very first stamp sets I purchased from the Annual Catalogue, so I'm always on the lookout for samples using it. I loved that each individual ray was cut out and applied to this card, so like a crazy woman, I decided to CASE it.

There's a LOT of rays! LOL. I stamped the image on two pieces of Flirty Flamingo cardstock. One was cropped with a Stitched Rectangles Die. I fussy cut each ray from the second piece of cardstock and layered it over the top. I adhered the inner part of the ray directly to the cardstock, and the end of the ray was popped up on Dimensionals. It gave a really cool effect to the card.

scissorspapercard, Stampin' Up!, CASEing The Catty, Nothing's Better Than, Days To Remember, Rays Of Light, Love You More Than Dies

Once I finished, I trimmed the edges and adhered the piece to a Gold Foil card. The Nothing's Better Than bundle was used to decorate the card. I cropped the word 'Cocktails' five times - four in Basic Black and one in Gold foil. I made sure I used Adhesive Sheet on the back so that I was able to adhere the layers together easily.

scissorspapercard, Stampin' Up!, CASEing The Catty, Nothing's Better Than, Days To Remember, Rays Of Light, Love You More Than Dies

I couldn't resist adding another cocktail to the inside. This card will be going to a niece, who is celebrating her 18th birthday later in the month.

We'd love for you to play along with us this week, and every week! All you need to do is make a suitable card, take a photo and add it to our Facebook group. Easy!

Please keep on hopping around our blog hop, as there is plenty more gorgeous Sale-A-Bration inspiration to be found, starting with the lovely Julia Quinn

JAI 613: Just Add Colour

 Hi!

Hello again! Friday means that it's Just Add Ink challenge time! This week we have a colour combo for you, suggested by Nikki.

I love the mix of the two softer colours with the richer Starry Sky. I went for something a little different, and used Starry Sky as my background, hoping that the lighter Mint Macaron and Fresh Freesia would pop against the deep blue.

scissorspapercard, Stampin' Up!, Concord & 9th, Just Add Ink, Love You More Than Dies, Let's Party Treat Packaging Kit, In Colour DSP

I think it works! I used my new Concord & 9th dies, Love You More Than, to crop the flowers. The dies layer over the top of each other to give a more dimensional flower. You can see this a little more clearly in the closer photo below.

scissorspapercard, Stampin' Up!, Concord & 9th, Just Add Ink, Love You More Than Dies, Let's Party Treat Packaging Kit, In Colour DSP

The sentiment is from the Let's Party Treat Packaging Kit. I love the fonts in the kit stamp set.

scissorspapercard, Stampin' Up!, Concord & 9th, Just Add Ink, Love You More Than Dies, Let's Party Treat Packaging Kit, In Colour DSP

Here's one final tulip for the inside of the card. The colours look so different against a white background rather than Starry Sky.

That's all for me for this week, but your job is just starting! Pop on over to the Just Add Ink blog, where you'll find the rest of this week's Design Team cards. You'll also be able to link up your card for our challenge. What will you do with our colours?

Colour Creations: Calypso Coral

 Hi!

Welcome back to my blog for the new Colour Creations Blog Hop. This week it's Calypso Coral's turn. Like Cajun Craze, it's a colour that isn't a favourite of mine, but I do think that it has a valuable place in the colour range.

Brian King has paired it with two of our newer In Colours, Soft Succulent and Evening Evergreen. Isn't it a gorgeous combo? I decided to pull out an older set of dies and play with some watercolouring, as July is Watercolouring month.

scissorspapercard, Stampin' Up!, Colour Creations, Peaceful Moments, Poppy Moments Dies, Lovely Linen DSP

I started by washing some Calypso Coral ink over a piece of Watercolour Paper. Once it dried, I cropped some of the solid poppy die from the Poppy Moments Dies. I repeated the process with Soft Succulent and the solid leaf die. The outline dies were used to crop the same colour cardstock, with Basic Black for the centres of the flowers.

scissorspapercard, Stampin' Up!, Colour Creations, Peaceful Moments, Poppy Moments Dies, Lovely Linen DSP

I used a gorgeous piece of Lovely Linen DSP for the background. It features both of the greens with Basic White. I had the three Stitched Rectangle frames floating around on my desk, so added them to the card on a whim. I think it provides a nice base for the flowers to sit on, rather than floating in space.

scissorspapercard, Stampin' Up!, Colour Creations, Peaceful Moments, Poppy Moments Dies, Lovely Linen DSP

I used the offcut DSP from the front to frame the inside of the card. The sentiments on my card are from Peaceful Moments, another old favourite. It's easy to forget about the oldies with the excitement of new stuff!

Please continue your way around our Calypso Coral blog hop by jumping on over to Theresa Gerrard's blog. You won't want to miss her gorgeous card.

If there are broken or missing links, the lady in the know is Catherine Proctor. Pop over to her blog, where you'l find a list of all of tonight's participants and you can get yourself back on track.

HOC Week 3

 Hi!

Thank you for stopping by on your way around our Heart Of Christmas Blog Hop. It's the third week in this series, and I finally have some Christmas DSP to play with! I've used the Host DSP from the Mini Catalogue, called Celebrate Everything, on my cards. It's very bright and fun!

scissorspapercard, Stampin' Up!, Heart Of Christmas, Love Santa Tag Kit, Christmas To Remember, Celebrate Everything Host DSP, Spruced Up Outlines Dies, Sheetload Of Cards, Christmas Card

I used the April 2022 Mini Slimline Sheetload Of Cards for my cards this week. I was intrigued by the idea of mini slimline cards - they measure 6 1/4 inches by 3 1/4 - and the shorter front, which allows the DSP on the inside to peek through to the front. The sentiment on the front is from the Love, Santa Tag Kit.

scissorspapercard, Stampin' Up!, Heart Of Christmas, Love Santa Tag Kit, Christmas To Remember, Celebrate Everything Host DSP, Spruced Up Outlines Dies, Sheetload Of Cards, Christmas Card

On the inside I've use my old favourite set, Christmas To Remember. How can you not be holly and jolly with those bright baubles on your card?

scissorspapercard, Stampin' Up!, Heart Of Christmas, Love Santa Tag Kit, Christmas To Remember, Celebrate Everything Host DSP, Spruced Up Outlines Dies, Sheetload Of Cards, Christmas Card

Here's my group of four cards. The bauble on the front is from the Spruced Up Outlines Dies. I popped some Adhesive Sheet on the back of some Pacific Point, Polished Pink, Granny Apple Green and Crushed Curry cardstock and ran the bauble and snowflake dies through my machine. I then just mixed and matched the pieces to create the baubles. The snowflake was cut from the bauble inner, so that the recreated bauble all lies flat.

Well, that's all from me for tonight, but you'll see me again next week on the hop! Please do finish this week's blog hop, by continuing on to see what Amie McElroy has created.

Sharon Davern is the lady in the know, if you run into any issues. Jump on over to her blog, where you'll find a list of all of tonight's hoppers so that you can pick up your trail.

FMS 544

 Hi!

I had a bit of time up my sleeve this weekend, so I thought that I'd play along with Freshly Made Sketches. Here's their current sketch.

EDIT: How exciting, my card was selected by Jen B as a Princess of Clean!

I play the Bass Clarinet in a concert band, and we have been learning some of the movements from The Lord Of The Rings: Symphony No 1, so naturally I have been reading the books, which lead to watching the movies. Of course, I have to colour while watching, which lead to this card!

scissorspapercard, Kindred Stamps, Size Doesn't Matter, The Journey Prequel, Forrest Elves, Hello Sweetums Mountains Of Fun Dies, Copic Markers, Pop Culture Card

The wizard is from Size Doesn't Matter, by Kindred Stamps. The little traveller is also a Kindred Stamps image, but from a set called The Journey Prequel, as is the sentiment. Both were coloured with my Copic markers.

scissorspapercard, Kindred Stamps, Size Doesn't Matter, The Journey Prequel, Forrest Elves, Hello Sweetums Mountains Of Fun Dies, Copic Markers, Pop Culture Card

The mountains are a Hello Sweetums Die, called Mountains Of Fun. I coloured behind them using some Wild Honey Distress Oxide and a blending brush.

scissorspapercard, Kindred Stamps, Size Doesn't Matter, The Journey Prequel, Forrest Elves, Hello Sweetums Mountains Of Fun Dies, Copic Markers, Pop Culture Card

On the inside I used a third Kindred Stamps set, called Forrest Elves. This time the Distress Oxide used was Salty Ocean.

Now I'm off to play, read, watch and colour some more!

Bye for now,

Tina
