JAI 623: Just Add Colour

Hi!

Thanks again for joining me on a Friday for the new Just Add Ink Challenge. This week we have a colour combo for you, suggested to us by Di Barnes.

Isn't it fabulous? I love the mix of bright colour from the new 2022-24 In Colour range. I initially had thoughts of making a floral card with this combo, but I ended up going in a completely different direction!

scissorspapercard, Just Add Ink, Music From The Heart, Rugged Icons Dies, Stylish Shapes Dies, Masculine Card

The colours are so bold, I wanted to see how they'd pop against a black background. Boy, do they ever!! The white guitar, cropped using the Rugged Icons Dies, is a nice contrast.

The panel using the coloured cardstock was made using scraps from my stash. I can't recall the name, but I used the technique where you adhere the cardstock to a Window Sheet, crop it, and pop it up on Dimensionals so that it looks like it's floating. In this case, I used the largest Stylish Shapes square die.

Some left over scraps of card were used on the inside. Both sentiments on my card are from the retired Music From The Heart, but they fit well with the musical theme of my card.

What would you make with our colour combo this week? We'd love to see your card. Jump on over to the Just Add Ink blog, for more Design Team inspiration. You'll also find the linky to allow you to enter your card in our challenge.

JAI 617: Just Choose Two

 Hi!

Thanks for joining me for the new Just Add Ink challenge. This week we have a Choose Two challenge, suggested by Di.

So what are your choices? Gingham, Dots or Diecuts. Choose any two to go on your card. For me it was an easy choice, as I'd just purchased a new stamp set that featured dots.

scissorspapercard, Stampin' Up!, Concord & 9th, Uniquely Creative, Just Add Ink, Bitty Burst Turnabout, Grace's Garden, Music From The Heart, Stitched Sun Die

I used the Concord & 9th Bitty Burst Turnabout stamp on my card, using four different shades of blue and green. I used Pacific Point, Night Of Navy, Granny Apple Green and Shaded Spruce. I can see myself using this stamp set a lot, and I can't wait to try out different colour combos.

To fulfil the second part of the Choose Two, I added a die cut from the Uniquely Creative Stitched Sun die. It filled the circle in the middle of the Bitty Burst beautifully.

I got a bit ambitious with the Bitty Burst stamp on the inside. I tried to do it with a rig, but it was very awkward on my Stamparatus. Next time I'll just wing it, I think!

That's all from me for tonight, but we'd love for you to play along with our challenge. Just head on over to the Just Add Ink blog, where you'll find lots more gorgeous inspiration from our Design Team. You'll also find the linky to add your photo to our challenge gallery. I can't wait to see which two you choose.

Tina

Colour Creations: Granny Apple Green

 Hi!

Thanks for joining me for this week's Colour Creations Blog Hop. This week we are looking at Granny Apple Green. It's a lovely, happy green from the Brights colour family. I have broken my feature colour only rule for this blog hop, as I wanted to show you a very special card that I made recently for my youngest son Hudson's birthday. He loves Shaun The Sheep, and his favourite episode is called 'Still Life'. When I saw the Counting Sheep stamps and the coordinating Sheep Dies in the recent Sale-A-Bration catalogue, I decided I would recreate the scene below for his card.

In the episode, the farmer wants to do some painting, but when he goes off in search of some more white paint, the sheep have a lot of fun. They recreate some famous artworks, but with a 'sheepish' perspective. The canvas ends up as a riot of colour, so that's the one I chose to create for Hudson's card.

scissorspapercard, Stampin' Up!, Colour Creations, Counting Sheep, Music From The Heart, Sweet AS A Peach, All Dressed Up Dies, Sheep Dies, Stampin' Blends, Multi-Tier Pop Up Card

This fold is called a Multi-Tiered Pop Up card, and I thought that the layers and dimension suited my purposes perfectly. After I created the card base from Granny Apple Green card, I used Dimensionals to adhere some Early Espresso die cut fence panels to the card. The sentiment is from Music From The Heart, cropped with an All Dressed Up Die. The die cut clouds and sun were adhered to some strips of Window Sheet before being adhered to the base.

scissorspapercard, Stampin' Up!, Colour Creations, Counting Sheep, Music From The Heart, Sweet AS A Peach, All Dressed Up Dies, Sheep Dies, Stampin' Blends, Multi-Tier Pop Up Card

The sheep were stamped with Memento ink and then I coloured the legs and face with my Dark Basic Black Blend. To achieve the look of paint splatters, I stamped the little flower from Blossoms In Bloom in a range of bright colours over the flower, and the square of Whisper White that is the 'canvas'. I then adhered them to the base, some directly to the front or back of each layer, and some with Dimensionals, so that I could get the maximum out of the layering.

scissorspapercard, Stampin' Up!, Colour Creations, Counting Sheep, Music From The Heart, Sweet AS A Peach, All Dressed Up Dies, Sheep Dies, Stampin' Blends, Multi-Tier Pop Up Card

I repeated the same ideas on the back, however, looking at the photo, I realise that I forgot to give this sheep some paint splatters. Oh well!! The easel was created by chopping up another die cut fence piece, this time in Crumb Cake. I had a lot of fun making this card, and Hudson seemed to love it - he hooted at it in the way he does when he likes something, and gave it a bog long look. I was happy!

A very big thanks to my lovely friend Andrea for the loan of the stamps and dies so that I could make this special card. You're now off to he blog to see what gorgeousness she has created for us tonight.

Another lovely friend, Catherine Proctor, is our host for tonight, so pop on over to her blog if you run into trouble with any of the links, or if you'd like to see a full list of tonight's Hoppers.

JAI #494: Just Add Colour

Hi!

Thanks for joining me for a new week of Just Add Ink. This week Di has given us a soft, beautiful palette to work with.

Aren't they pretty? They immediately spoke 'baby card' to me, but with no babies on my horizon, and a distinct lack of time this week, I went super quick and simple, and made what could be a masculine card.

scissorspapercard, Stampin' Up!, Just Add Ink, Bloom and Grow, Music From The Heart, Golden Honey SDSP, Stitched So Sweetly Dies, Rectangle Stitched Dies, Stampin' Blends, Masculine Card

I copied the idea of the stripes from another demo, who had used her Stampin' Blends to colour the white stripes on her Golden Honey DSP. She used a rather bold colour combo, but I think this one works well too. I used my Dark Petal Pink and Soft Sea Foam marker, with my Light Smokey Slate. It was very quick and easy to colour each stripe.

scissorspapercard, Stampin' Up!, Just Add Ink, Bloom and Grow, Music From The Heart, Golden Honey SDSP, Stitched So Sweetly Dies, Rectangle Stitched Dies, Stampin' Blends, Masculine Card

Because I was aiming for a masculine look, I kept the sentiment simple. I loved this big greeting from Bloom and Grow. The non-fussy font filled the Stitched So Sweetly die cut perfectly. To give it a little more oomph, I cut a Stitched Rectangle in Soft Sea Foam and snipped it to just show in the corners of the main shape. A subtle effect, but I quite like it!

scissorspapercard, Stampin' Up!, Just Add Ink, Bloom and Grow, Music From The Heart, Golden Honey SDSP, Stitched So Sweetly Dies, Rectangle Stitched Dies, Stampin' Blends, Masculine Card

The inside is just another scrap of the Golden Honey DSP coloured to match the front. The sentiment comes from Music From The Heart.

The Design Team have created some gorgeous cards this week using these colours, so please do pop on over to the Just Add Ink blog to see their work. You can also link up your card made using the colours. Where do they take you?

Music From The Heart

Hi!

When I was lucky enough to be asked to present Beautiful Moments at OnStage in Sydney last November, I also received a few extra stamp sets in my presenter pack. One of them was the fabulous Music From The Heart stamp set. I was soooo excited to see it, as I am a musician. It's a set that will definitely find a place in my 'keep forever' shelf!

Today's card was made for a mate of Alex's who was turning 18. He's a quiet lad, but is passionate about music, and so it was a perfect set to use for his card.

scissorspapercard, Stampin' Up!, Music From The Heart, Noble Peacock SDSP, Large Numbers Dies

I used lots of bright colours to stamp the images on the card - Blueberry Bushel, Call Me Clover, Pineapple Punch and Real Red. The keyboard image was stamped on a Whisper White scrap, fussy cut and then trimmed into two pieces to allow it to stretch across the width of the card.

scissorspapercard, Stampin' Up!, Music From The Heart, Noble Peacock SDSP, Large Numbers Dies

Here's a trick for making sure you stamp the notes and guitars in the correct place: lay the Stitched Circle die on the card where the die cut circle will end up, and trace around the inside of the die lightly in pencil. This saves you having to guess where you need to stamp the images.

scissorspapercard, Stampin' Up!, Music From The Heart, Noble Peacock SDSP, Large Numbers Dies

I used the same colours to stamp across the bottom of the inside. The sentiment also comes from the set. There's a few cute pun stamps, and a few more for different occasions. the hand-written font is lovely.

Tina

JAI #489: Just Add Colour

Hi!

Its time for the new week of Just Add Ink. Yay! This week we have a little bit of a different Colour Challenge for you. Rachael has given us these five colours, and we are to choose any three.

Hmm, which ones appeal to you? Confession: I struggled for the longest time with these. I just couldn't find a combo of three that I liked! Then I picked up 'The Gang's All Meer' and inspiration struck. I went with the bottom line: Blueberry Bushel, Daffodil Delight and Call Me Clover.

scissorspapercard, Stampin' Up!, Just Add Ink, The Gang's All Meer, Music From The Heart, Rectangle Stitched Dies, Share From The Heart Embellishments

I started by stamping the cacti and the lizard (iguana?) in my new Saddle Brown Stazon on Watercolour paper. I then used my selected colours (and a little touch of Sahara Sand) to watercolour my scene. I diluted the Blueberry a lot so that it worked better as a sky colour. The sun is stamped from Waterfront, as I really suck at getting a round shape freehand.

scissorspapercard, Stampin' Up!, Just Add Ink, The Gang's All Meer, Music From The Heart, Rectangle Stitched Dies, Share From The Heart Embellishments

I stamped the Clover card base with the cactus and lizard in coordinating ink. The sentiment panel was finished with a mini paper clip and some white thread from the retired Share What You Love Embellishment kit. Why do I hoard these kits, only to use them once it's retired?

scissorspapercard, Stampin' Up!, Just Add Ink, The Gang's All Meer, Music From The Heart, Rectangle Stitched Dies, Share From The Heart Embellishments

I finished off the inside with another cactus. I tried to add in the lizard too, but I just couldn't make him work. Next time!

Time now to pop on over to the Just Add Ink blog, where you can find the rest of this week's Design Team cards. You can also link your card up for the challenge. Which three of our colours appeal to you?

Bye for now,

Tina

JAI #484: Just Add Colour

Hi!

It's the end of another busy week, but that means it's time for both the weekend and the new Just Add Ink challenge. Yay! This week Rachael has given us a sweet, soft colour combo to work with.

I don't know about you, but those colours scream 'baby card' to me. Ok, well maybe whisper so that we don't wake the baby! LOL!

scissorspapercard, Stampin' Up!, Just Add Ink, Witty-cisms, Peaceful Moments, Music From The Heart, Baby Card

I took the opportunity to use a new stamp set, called Witty-cisms. I was lucky enough to receive this stamp set in the bundle of goodies I got to present at OnStage recently. It's a cute little set with lots of funny images and sentiments. The text and image are actually one stamp, so I used a lot of masking to stamp the pram three times in Smokey Slate, and then just the text for the fourth square.

scissorspapercard, Stampin' Up!, Just Add Ink, Witty-cisms, Peaceful Moments, Music From The Heart, Baby Card

I stamped the images on Shimmery White cardstock so that I could watercolour the prams. The Shimmery paper copes with water much better than regular Whisper White card. The little hearts were cropped using the little heart die from the Well Written dies.

scissorspapercard, Stampin' Up!, Just Add Ink, Witty-cisms, Peaceful Moments, Music From The Heart, Baby Card

The congratulations sentiment is also from a new stamp set, called Peaceful Moments. The hearts I used on the inside are also a stamp, from the new Music From The Heart stamp set, which was also in my goodie bundle from OnStage. I just over a month they will be available for purchase.

Time for me to finish up, but you can head on over to the Just Add Ink blog, where you can see the rest of this week's Design team cards. You can also enter your card into our challenge by linking up your blog post.

Bye for now,
