CTC 408: Mini Catalogue Bundle Section

 Hi!

Welcome back to my blog for the new CASEing The Catty Sunday Challenge Blog Hop. Each week we like to challenge you to CASE a project from a section of one of Stampin' Up!'s catalogues and post a photo of your card to our Facebook Group.

This week, we are asking you to CASE from the Bundles Section of the current Mini Catalogue, from pages 76-83. I chose this cutie from page 81. I really liked the three strips in the background that create a little scene for the bunny and kite.

If you've been following my blog for the past couple of weeks, you'd know that I'm currently obsessed with the On The Ocean bundle. Today's card was another great opportunity to create with it.

For my background, I used the same concept as the bunny card, but for my card I created the sea, the land and the sky. The hill was from the retired Horizon Dies, but you could easily fussy cut the curves if you didn't have this die. The sea and clouds were dies from the On The Ocean Dies. Actually, the sea piece was the offcut from one of my previous cards. I don't like to waste anything!

I wanted to keep my card fairly simple this time, so instead of the usual double layer of sails on my card, I opted to colour the mast sections with my Dark Crumb Cake Blend, and then use a sponge to ink the edges of the sails. The Coastal Cabana flag helps to tie in the colour from the sea.

I made a second ship for the inside of the card. I really am having a lot of fun with this bundle!

We'd love for you to join us in CASEing the Catty. As I mentioned earlier, just make a card that fits the challenge criteria and upload a photo to our Facebook Group. It's so easy - the hardest part is deciding which project to CASE.

I'm the last stop on this week's Blog Hop, so if you started in the Facebook group, you are done! If you started somewhere in the middle, please keep on going until you get back to where you started. The next blog for you to visit belongs to my lovely friend, Rachel Palmieri.

Bye for now,

Tina

Colour Creations: Pumpkin Pie

 Hi!

Welcome back for the new Colour Creations Blog Hop. This week it's Pumpkin Pie week. I can't remember a time as an SU demo without Pumpkin Pie - so it's been around a long time!

Brian King teamed it up with Starry Sky and Daffodil Delight. This combo, along with my obsession with the On The Ocean bundle, made me think of a fiery sunset over the sea.

scissorspapercard, Colour Creations, On The Ocean Bundle, Rays Of Light, Hand Penned Petals, Stylish Shapes Dies

I started by stamping Rays Of Light onto Whisper White cardstock with Pumpkin Pie ink and then inking over the top with Daffodil Delight ink. I left a little white halo around the sun, and then stamped some of the birds from On The Ocean over the top using Memento ink. I also inked the bottom of the cardstock with Starry Sky ink. It works beautifully as the far horizon.

scissorspapercard, Colour Creations, On The Ocean Bundle, Rays Of Light, Hand Penned Petals, Stylish Shapes Dies

I cropped the boat in black, as I wanted it to be like a silhouette against the blazing sun. The foreground ocean was stamped and fussy cut, and then popped up over the top of everything else.

scissorspapercard, Colour Creations, On The Ocean Bundle, Rays Of Light, Hand Penned Petals, Stylish Shapes Dies

I used the inked up Rays Of Light stamp on the inside of my card too. I didn't reink the stamp after stamping the front, I just laid part of my card over the image and gently rubbed my fingers over the card to pick up the ink. The softer look was exactly what I wanted for the inside of my card.

That's all from me tonight, but please do continue your way around our Pumpkin Pie hop tonight. The next stop along the way is my lovely friend, Rachel Woollard, who will gave a gorgeous cards or two for you to see.

My wonderful friend, Cathy Proctor, keeps us all organised, and if you find yourself with a broken link, she can get you organised, too. Just Pop on over to her blog, where you'll find a list of all of tonight's participants to help get you back on track.

Bye for now,

CTC 407: SAB Catalogue

 Hi!

Welcome to the CASEing The Catty Sunday Challenge Blog Hop. Isn't it a great way to finish off the weekend?

This week we are back to CASEing from the Sale-A-Bration Catalogue. There's only a couple of weeks left to get your freebies from the catalogue, so don't delay!

My eye was caught by this card on page 9 of the catalogue (ignore the graphic that says page 8!), I liked the fussy cut flowers over the rainy DSP and the black twine bow. I once again decided to use Favoured Flowers DSP on my card, and adjusted my design accordingly.

scissorspapercard, CASEing The Catty, Stampin' Up!, Favoured Flowers, Simply Fabulous, Sale-A-Bration

The grouping of flowers that I fussy cut seemed to be upside down when I had them at the bottom of the panel, so I flipped the panel to put them at the top. Much better!

scissorspapercard, CASEing The Catty, Stampin' Up!, Favoured Flowers, Simply Fabulous, Sale-A-Bration

I really love the geometric designs on the flip side of the floral papers. This layout is a great way to feature them - either as a subtle background, or a bolder edge around a panel.

scissorspapercard, CASEing The Catty, Stampin' Up!, Favoured Flowers, Simply Fabulous, Sale-A-Bration

Some scrap DSP and another fussy cut cluster of flowers finished off the inside. Once again, the flowers looked better at the top. I like to shake things up every now and then!

We'd love for you to play along with us this week, by CASEing a project from the Sale-A-Bration Catalogue. Just add a photo to our Facebook group and you're done!

Next up on our hop tonight is my lovely friend, Judy May, with what I'm sure will be a gorgeous card. You won't want to miss it!

JAI 640: Just Add A Surprise

 Hi!

Thanks for stopping by! Today I have for you the new Just Add Ink Challenge, which was suggested by Fiona. We are asking you to Just Add A Surprise.

I recently purchased the On The Ocean bundle, and straight away had an awesome idea on how to use it for this challenge. I was thinking of the closing scenes of one of my childhood favourite movies, The Goonies.

scissorspapercard, Just Add Ink, Stampin' Up! On The Ocean Bundle, Enjoy The Journey DSP, Sassy Club Treasure Hunters, Ink Road Stamps I Smell Ice Cream

I delved into my pop culture stamps for the card, using Sassy Club's Treasure Hunters for the character, and Ink Road Stamps I Smell Ice Cream for the sentiment. The cliff that Chunk is standing in front of was watercolored using Easy Espresso ink. You may notice a little pull tab on the right of the card...

scissorspapercard, Just Add Ink, Stampin' Up! On The Ocean Bundle, Enjoy The Journey DSP, Sassy Club Treasure Hunters, Ink Road Stamps I Smell Ice Cream

Which reveals One-Eyed Willy's pirate ship, the Inferno, sailing off into the sunset! Hehe, I had such fun making this card!

scissorspapercard, Just Add Ink, Stampin' Up! On The Ocean Bundle, Enjoy The Journey DSP, Sassy Club Treasure Hunters, Ink Road Stamps I Smell Ice Cream

I used the same stamp sets to create my writing panel on the back of the card. I know exactly who is going to get this card - and she will love it!

I hope that you can play along with us this week. What kind of surprise will you add? A slider, like me? Maybe a pop up section, or a hidden message? You imagination is the limit! Jump on over to the Just Add Ink blog, where you'll see what surprises the rest of the Design Team have for you. You can link up your card in the challenge there too.

Colour Creations: Poppy Parade

 Hi!

Thanks for joining me for the new Colour Creations Blog Hop. This week we are looking at Poppy Parade, one of my favourite reds.

I liked this nautical colour combo from Brian King, and as I had just received the new On The Ocean bundle, I was all set!

scissorspapercard, Colour Creations, Stampin' Up!, On The Ocean Bundle

I have coveted this bundle ever since I saw it in the catalogue - it reminds me of one of my all time favourite childhood movies, The Goonies. For this card though, I decided to go a little more generic pirate. I started by stamping some of the waves on the bottom of the Pool Party Stitched Rectangle. I fussy cut along the line, and then stamped more waves on the bottom of the main piece. The cropped piece was then layered over the rest of the rectangle, popped up on Dimensionals. The pirate ship was tucked in between the layers, so that there are waves both in front and behind the ship.

scissorspapercard, Colour Creations, Stampin' Up!, On The Ocean Bundle

To bring more Poppy Parade into the card (as the feature colour!!), I cropped the skull and crossbones for the sails of the ship. I'm contemplating adding a flag to the top of the ship with a stamped skull and crossbones, too.

scissorspapercard, Colour Creations, Stampin' Up!, On The Ocean Bundle

A little more stamping on the inside finished off the card. I can see myself having a lot of fun with this bundle!

My lovely friend, Andrea Sergeant, is the next stop on our Blog Hop tonight. Please jump on over to her blog, where I'm sure there's something magnificent to be seen!

As always, the wonderful Cathy Proctor keeps us all organised. She has a list of all of tonight's participants on her blog, so if you come across a broken link, just jump on over to her blog to get back on track.

CTC 406: Love and Valentine's

 Hi!

Welcome back to my blog for the new CASEing The Catty Sunday Challenge Blog Hop. With Valentine's Day just around the corner, we are asking you to CASE a love or Valentine's project from any of the three current catalogues.

There's a lot of projects to choose from, especially in the Mini Catalogue. I found this card towards the back of the Mini on page 74. It shows some of the carry over items from the pervious Mini Catalogue.

I really liked the grouping of three houses with the layering underneath. I don't really make love cards, so I decided to make a birthday card instead.

scissorspapercard, CASEing The Catty, Stampin' Up!, Simply Fabulous, Favoured Flowers SAB DSP, Stylish Shapes Dies, Brick & Mortar 3DEF, Sale-A-Bration

I recently received some of the Sale-A-Bration Favoured Flowers DSP, and decided to use some of the flowers instead of the houses. I roughly cut the flowers and then glued them to Basic Black cardstock before fussy cutting. LOL, I just realised that I've left off the circular layer. Oops!

scissorspapercard, CASEing The Catty, Stampin' Up!, Simply Fabulous, Favoured Flowers SAB DSP, Stylish Shapes Dies, Brick & Mortar 3DEF, Sale-A-Bration

The layers of flowers and DSP were adhered over some Blackberry Bliss cardstock, dry embossed with the Brick & Mortar 3DEF. The position of the leaves on the larger flower didn't suit my design, so I snipped them off and repositioned them. The DSP makes this easy, as there is a deep shadow in the design that makes it easy to snip the leaves without leaving evidence of them around the edge of the flower. I hope that makes sense!

scissorspapercard, CASEing The Catty, Stampin' Up!, Simply Fabulous, Favoured Flowers SAB DSP, Stylish Shapes Dies, Brick & Mortar 3DEF, Sale-A-Bration

I used a partial flower from the edge of the DSP on the inside of my card. The sentiments are from Simply Fabulous, one of my favourite stamp sets for sentiments.

We'd love for you to play along with our Love themed challenge. You don't actually need to make a love card, just use one as the basis for your card, as I have done. When you've made it, just add a photo to our Facebook Group.

For now though, please do continue your way around our blog hop. There's lots more love inspiration to see, starting with my lovely friend, Rachel Palmieri. Her card is gorgeous!

Tina

JAI 639: Just Add Colour

 Hi!

Welcome back to my blog for the new Just Add Ink challenge. This week we have a colour challenge for you, suggested to us by Jan.

Wow, it certainly is a bold and bright combo! I decided to make one of the colours the feature, and as I thought about which stamps I had in my collection, I knew I had the perfect stamp set.

scissorspapercard, Just Add Ink, Ink Road Stamps, I Object, Stampin' Up!, Stitched Rectangles Dies

It's an Ink Road Stamps set, called I Object. Polished Pink was the perfect choice for this stamp set, don't you think? I put three of the image stamps on the one block, and then used them to stamp my background. The stripes were cut using the smallest Stitched Rectangles Die. I just snipped them in half to stretch them over the card front.

scissorspapercard, Just Add Ink, Ink Road Stamps, I Object, Stampin' Up!, Stitched Rectangles Dies

I used my Stamparatus to stamp the main image, just so that if I didn't get a good imprint, I could easily stamp again. Thankfully, the first go was a good one!

scissorspapercard, Just Add Ink, Ink Road Stamps, I Object, Stampin' Up!, Stitched Rectangles Dies

My apologies to the other two colours, but the inside is pink all the way!

We'd love to see what you make with these colours. Will you go bold, or a little more subtle? You can see what the rest of the Design Team have made over on the Just Add Ink blog. You can also link up your card for the challenge over there. I can't wait to see what you create!

Bye for now,

Tina

Colour Creations: Pool Party

 Hi!

Thanks for joining me for the new Colour Creations Blog Hop. It's Pool Part week! Doesn't that sound like a fun colour? I like it!

Speaking of liking colours, I asked in the AWH Facebook group last week what were people's favourite and least liked colours. Cajun Craze came up a lot - it's a love it or hate it colour! When it was one of the options for a colour combo for this week's card, I decided to use it. Cajun Craze is not a colour that I use a lot, but I did like how it works with this combo.

scissorspapercard, Colour Creations, Stampin' Up!, Alphabet A La Mode Dies, Rugged Icons Dies, Design A Daydream Host DSP, Timeless Greetings Kit

LOL, I've had this sentiment scrawled on my grid paper for weeks, waiting for an opportunity to use it. Rugged Icons was the perfect choice to go with it. I cropped the letters from Cajun Craze card (backed with Adhesive Sheet) using my new Alphabet A La Mode Dies. The fishing pole is cropped from Whisper White with Adhesive Foam to give it dimension.

scissorspapercard, Colour Creations, Stampin' Up!, Alphabet A La Mode Dies, Rugged Icons Dies, Design A Daydream Host DSP, Timeless Greetings Kit

The background paper is from the Design A Daydream Host DSP. I used the birds, because they always seem to be around when there's fishing happening. Probably hoping for a free meal!

scissorspapercard, Colour Creations, Stampin' Up!, Alphabet A La Mode Dies, Rugged Icons Dies, Design A Daydream Host DSP, Timeless Greetings Kit

I had a piece of Cajun Craze cardstock with Adhesive Sheet left over from cropping the letters, so I used it for a partial fishing pole for the inside. Hopefully it doesn't look too strange! The stamped sentiment is from the Timeless Greetings Kit.

It's time to jump into the next pool (it's hot in Adelaide today, so a dip would be heavenly! LOL). The party continues over on the wonderful Kate Morgan's blog.

The head lifeguard, keeping us all on track, is the fabulous Cathy Proctor. Jump on over to her blog if you find a problem with a link - she'll have a list of all bloggers for the hop there.

Bye for now,

Tina
