Wildflower Meadow Candles

Hi!

I have been doing a little bit of stamping on candles lately.  They have been on commission - my client wanted a set of 4 candles with a card to match.

The brief was pink and floral, so I thought that Wildflower Meadow in Melon Mambo and Old Olive fitted perfectly.

I used my Stampin' Write markers to colour the rubber to get the mulitcoloured image.  I also added some Rhinestones to the centres of the flowers.

I like using the sweet little flower stem on the inside - such a perfect little touch for the card, and easy to achieve using the markers to selectively colour the image.

I also used the markers to create the image for the candles, as well as rhinestones to finish off the flowers.

My client loved the gift set, and the recipient does too. Great result!

A Quick Card Today!

Hi!

A quick and simple card for you today.  I made it early on when the current Annual Catalogue was released. I love the Wildflower Meadow bundle - it's great to have on hand for simple, fast and effective cards.

I combined Crumb Cake with Baked Brown Sugar for this card - they work beautifully together for a tonal effect.

Sorry, I didn't photograph the inside before I wrote in it!!

Stamps: Wildflower Meadow, Label Love
Ink: Baked Brown Sugar
Cardstock: Very Vanilla, Baked Brown Sugar, Crumb Cake
Other: Big Shot, Wildflower Meadow Embossing Folder, Artisan Label Punch, Crumb Cake Seam Binding Ribbon, Dimensionals

Wildflower Meadow in Pool Party

Hi!

Wildflower Meadow and it's coordinating embossing folder weren't items from the new catalogue that initially got my attention.  Upon closer examination I realised just how versatile the pair could be.

For this card I kept the stamping and embossing fairly simple. Pool Party ink on Pool Party DSP gives a lovely, subtle background which I enhanced by embossing over the stamping.

Pearls for the centre of the flowers add a lovely finishing touch.

JAI #173: Just Add Water

Hi!

Straight into it today, as it's school holidays and the kids are demanding my attention!

The challenge this week at Just Add Ink is to add water.  It was inspired by a water bottle at the recent Convention! You can see the pics and read the story on the Just Add Ink blog.

For my card I decided to use water in a technique rather than as an image on the card. I used the faux watercolour technique, where you ink up your stamp, mist it with a little water and then stamp.  The edges of the stamp go a little blurry and give a watercolour like effect.

You can see the blurriness and also the loss of detail in the flowers that occurs as a result of the misting.  It's a lovely effect, beautiful on female cards. To get the two colours on the sentiment I stamped it in each colour and trimmed the centre bit from the Always Artichoke image before layering it over the Perfect Plum image.

Not hard to tell who got this card!  I was a bit lot late in sending my mum her Mother's Day card. Luckily for me she's a forgiving type.

Stamps: Wildflower Meadow, Label Love, For My Family (retired)
Ink: Island Indigo, Perfect Plum, Always Artichoke
Cardstock: Whisper White, Perfect Plum, Always Artichoke
Other: Always Artichoke Seam Binding Ribbon (retired), Artisan Label Punch, Basic Jewel Pearls, Dimensionals

Shimmery Wildflower Meadow

Hi!

I've had a lot of fun playing with this new stamp set, called Wildflower Meadow.

I this case I used my Island Indigo marker to ink up just one of the stems on the stamp. All the white space adds some elegance to the card I think.

To glam it up a little I spritzed the whole card to make it shimmer.

I used the same stamp, but a smaller stem to decorate the inside of the card.

Stamps: Wildflower Meadow, Sweet Essentials, For My Family (retired)
Ink: Island Indigo
Cardstock: Island Indigo, Whisper White
Other: Island Indigo Baker's Twine, Basic Jewels Rhinestones, Champagne Mist Shimmer Paint/Isocol Mix (retired)
