Hi!
One of the best parts of going to Convention is getting to be creative and do some stamping. Today's card was inspired by one of the (many!) Make and Takes we made this year at Convention.
I made this card as a class sample not long after I got back from Melbourne. As I didn't have the new In Colours I had to use their close approximates from the colours I did have.
I've said many times that Kinda Eclectic is not a stamp set I would have purchased myself, but it's now one I love. It's fabulous for collage stamping -especially the larger sunburst and leaf stamps.
I also love the dotty stamp. It's great for creating another layer without adding a layer of cardstock.
Here's my card on the left and the card I made at Convention on the right. A few differences, but nothing major.
Bye for now,
Tina

My Convention Swap
Hi!
I thought I'd sow you the card I made as a swap at Convention. I didn't end up making many of them as there were quite involved and heavy on the layers. I was really pleased with how they turned out though.
I tried to stick to products that were carrying over into the next Annual Catalogue as I wanted to be able to use the card as a display card in the future.
I really loved the touch of drama that the black matts add to the card.
As usual I decorated the inside too - which is unusual in a swap, but I wanted to do it anyway. A card doesn't feel finished anymore unless I decorate the inside too.
Stamps: World Map, Dictionary, Gorgeous Grunge, Memorable Moments, Sassy Salutations
Ink: Jet Black Stazon, Pacific Point, Garden Green, Sahara Sand
Cardstock: Basic Black, Sahara Sand, Very Vanilla, Watercolour Paper
Other: Big Shot, Circles Framelits, 1 3/8" Circle Punch, Banner Punch, Cotton Ribbon, Aqua Painter, Silver Mini Brads, Sponge Daubers, Dimensionals
Bye for now,
Tina

Post Convention Swap
Hi!
After Convention this year I participated in a card swap. The idea was that we should take something that inspired us at Convention and put our own spin on it. The card I chose to CASE was one of the samples provided using the Daydreams Medallions stamp set that we all got at Convention.
I liked how this card is quite gender neutral, a handy card to have in your stash for emergencies!
I went for a different colour scheme of River Rock, Cherry Cobbler and Island Indigo.
All these Medallions are single stamps - I was very glad I only had to make 4 of these cards for the swap! Even though I had the clear mount set I still used my stamp positioner.
I was a bit over it by the inside, so it was very simple!
Stamps: Daydream Medallions (upcoming), Memorable Moments (upcoming)
Ink: Cherry Cobbler, Island Indigo
Cardstock: River Rock, Island Indigo, Very Vanilla
Other: Island Indigo Baker's Twine, Itty Bitty Punch Pack, Scallop Edge Punch, Dimensionals, Basic Jewel Pearls, Stamp Positioner

Convention Swap
Hi!
Here I am, as promised, with the swap card I made for Convention. I decided this year I was only going to do a closed swap with some of the Just Add Ink girls as I didn't have the time or energy to make a ton of swaps. The swap had an Autumn-Winter Mini Catalogue theme, so I chose to use the Bordering On Romance stamp set.
I watercoloured the flowers after first stamping them in Stazon Ink on watercolour paper. I used my Riding Hood Red and Pear Pizzazz markers and a blender pen to colour.
I then trimmed the flowers and popped them up on Dimensionals over the corresponding part of the image on the base panel. I used Rhinestones for the centres of the flowers.
As usual, I also stamped the inside of the card.
Stamps: Bordering On Romance, Just Believe
Ink: Riding Hood Red, Pear Pizzazz, Blushing Bride, Stazon
Cardstock: Blushing Bride, Whisper White, Watercolour Paper
Other: Whisper White Satin Ribbon, Basic Jewels Rhinestones, Dimensionals

Convention News
Hi!
Oh boy, have I been a bad blogger! I'm so sorry for my absence - I have been flat out since returning from Canberra. Today I have a quick wrap up of the Convention news for you - well, the news I can share for now anyway!
Don't you love the shape of this year's logo? *Wink wink* The theme of Convention was "I Am..." and related to the fact that we can be what we want to be, just as our Stampin' Up! Demonstratorships can be what we want them to be. It was lovely to hear the message over and over from SU.
One of my missions this year was to get a photo of myself with Shelli, the cofounder of Stampin' Up! She is such an amazing person, making herself available for photos with us. I had made a Smash Album for my Convention experience and she was lovely enough to sign it for me. She looked through it and told me it was 'darling'.
This fab banner was a great backdrop for group photos. The one above was taken on the Awards Night and is me with my Upline Sue Madex (centre) and the other Think Ink girls at Convention.
One highlight of the event was meeting up with the wonderful people I usually interact with online. I had a wonderful breakfast with the Just Add Ink team on the first morning of Convention. Here I am with Ruthy Clarke, Delys Cram, Christine Blain, Chantell Randall and her sister Nadine, Trish Radacs, Patrice Easton, Kim Badelt and Nikki Spencer.
This photo is me with my other Design Team members - the Festive Friday team, led by Nicole Derendorf (second from the left). Don't we all look glam!
So what's the news? Our upcoming catalogue will be released in September and will run for 10 months - the Australian market is being bought closer in line to the USA market. We will only be a month behind the USA on catalogue releases! We were given lots and lots of sneak peeks at Convention - I can't wait for the new catalogue! For me, one of the most exciting pieces of news was the introduction of My Digital Studio content discs in the upcoming catalogue. We aren't getting the full MDS just yet, but the content discs can be used in most photo editing software like Photoshop. Yay!
I'll leave it there for now and come back later in the week with my Convention Swap card.
