Vintage Labels Congrats

Hi!

This week at Just Add Ink the challenge is a sketch:

Did I mention how much I'm loving the variety of challenges these talented ladies are coming up with? Loving it LOTS!

My inspiration for this card came from the very talented Anne-Marie, who is new to stamping but creates some absolutely gorgeous stuff. I loved the card she made where she silver embossed the stamped image with silver EP on black cardstock - just stunning.

Card Stock: Basic Black, Going Grey
Stamps: Vintage Labels (current SAB), Congrats (retired SAB)
Ink: Versamark
Other: Silver Embossing Powder, Heat Gun

Catch you later,

Tina

Card Patterns Challenge #50

Hi!

I'm still having fun playing with my 'new' 2009 SAB sets. I needed to make a card for the son of a very good friend who was Christened recently. I decided to use the new sketch over at Card Patterns.

This is the card I came up with:

I quite liked this sketch. This card came together pretty quickly. I didn't have anything in my stash specific to a Christening so I just tried to make it suitable for a little boy.

Card Stock/Paper: Washington Apple DSP, Ballet Blue, So Saffron, Whisper White, Pumpkin Pie
Stamps: Congrats and Remembering You (both retired)
Ink: Ballet Blue, Basic Black
Other: So Saffron Grosgrain ribbon (NLA)

Catch you later,

Tina

Just Add Ink #3

Hi!

A week or so ago I was lucky enough to win some blog candy over at Sue's Stampin' Designs. Sue was giving away a brand new, unmounted set of last year's Sale A Bration stamps. I didn't 'discover' Stampin' Up until after last year's SAB, so I was thrilled to have won. I got them in the mail yesterday, so last night I got my first chance to have a play with them. I thought I'd use two of the sets to have a go at the latest challenge at Just Add Ink, which happened to be a sketch challenge.

Here is my card:

I'm loving the Old Olive panel, but I'm not sure about the Linen background. I think I should have gone tone on tone for it. Next time! I don't have many inkpads, so instead of sponging around the panels I used the side edge of my marker and ran it around the side of the card stock. It is quite obvious on the round Whisper White panel, but a lot more subtle on the Old Olive Panel. I thought it would give a little definition to the edges.

Card Stock: Whisper White, Old Olive
Stamps: Congrats, Botanical Blooms, Linen (all retired)
Ink: Regal Rose, Rose Red, Always Artichoke, Versamark
Other: Pink Ribbon from my stash
