JAI 729: Just Add Colour

 Hi!

Thanks for once again joining me for the new Just Add Ink Challenge. This week we have a super bright, happy colour combo for you, suggested to us by Kim.

Isn't it fun? There are so many possibilities with this combo. I decided to use a sweet little stamp set that I got as a freebie several years ago, but have never used. It's from Hello Sweetums, and is called Snail Mail.

I started by cropping the Whisper White cardstock using my Paper Rose Studio Nesting Arches die. I turned it into a tag by simply stapling a short length of Petunia Pop ribbon to the top.

The snail was coloured using my Watercolour Pencils. I had to use my Pacific Point pencil instead of Azure Afternoon, and Rich Razzleberry instead of Petunia Pop. You can see in the photo the glitter over the coloured areas - I used my Clear Wink Of Stella pen to blend the pencil and smooth out any pencil lines.

I used my Simply Said stamp set for the sentiments on the front and inside. The DSP is from my Dandy Designs pack.

It was a fun card to make, and to play with the colours. What will you do with them? You can see the rest of the Design Team cards over on the Just Add Ink blog, where you can also find the Linky so that you can enter the challenge.

Bye for now,

Tina

JAI 644: Just Add Colour

 Hi!

Hooray for Friday's and a new Just Add Ink challenge. This week we have a bright and happy colour combo, selected by Kerry.

Isn't it great? I decided to give a stamp set and die combo that I found at an op shop a go! I thought that the balloon stamps and the colour combo were a fabulous mix.

The stamps and dies are from Gemini by Crafter's Companion and are called Balloon Sentiments - Party. I started by stamping and die cutting the party balloons in the three colours, and then chopped them up to mix and match. I die cut an additional shape in Whisper White and used that to line up the chopped up image.

I used a Basic Black marker to hand-draw the crazy ribbons on the balloons. I was going for a curly look, but I think I just ended up with crazy, LOL!

For the inside, I used stamps from the Let's Party Treat Packaging kit. The DSP is from the Dandy Designs SAB papers.

As always, the Design team has done a magnificent job with Kerry's colour combo. What do you think you'll do with it? You can see the rest of the Design Team cards over on the Just Add Ink blog, where you can also link up your card once you've finished making it. I can't wait to see how you use the colours.

Bye for now,

Tina

CTC 410: CASE An Embossing Project

 Hi!

Welcome back to the new CASEing The Catty Sunday Challenge Blog Hop. We enjoy CASEing from the Stampin' Up! Catalogues, and we hope that you do, too.

This week we are asking you to CASE any Embossing Folder project from either of the two current catalogues. There's a lot to choose from! I recently purchased the Legendary Ride bundle, so I went for that section of the mini catalogue first.

Embossing our foil cardstock is a favourite technique of mine, so this card caught my eye straight away. I also loved the layout of the card, and the addition of the feminine flowers to the masculine elements.

I didn't buy the Metal Plate 3D Embossing folder, so I substituted for the splatter folder in the Stripes & Splatters 3D Embossing Folders set. I think it works, as it looks a bit like oil splatters. I used the darkest silver foil from the Silver Foil Specialty Pack. It has a bit of a purple tint to it, so that dictated the colours of the rest of my card. I used the same foil for the metallic parts of the motorbike.

Speaking of the motorbike, there's a LOT of layers, but doesn't it look spectacular? It's difficult to see in this photo, but the Blackberry Bliss layer has some embossing on it to represent the engine parts. In fact, quite a few of the dies also emboss different elements of the bike. You can see it on the Fresh Freesia and Silver Foil elements.

I stamped one of the motorbikes from the stamp set on the inside, as I'd run out of Adhesive Sheet backed pieces of cardstock. I was too lazy to make up some more to die cut another bike!

That's all from me for now, but your part in this challenge is just beginning. We'd love for you to play along - all you need to do is make a card that is a CASE of one from either catalogue that uses an embossing folder. Then take a photo and add it to our Facebook group. Easy!

Do make sure that you finish our Blog Hop before you get creating. I'm actually the last stop in the Blog Hop if you started in the Facebook group, but if you joined somewhere along the way, please keep on hopping until you get back to where you started. The next stop is my wonderful friend, Judy May.

Bye for now,

Tina

CTC 405: Sale-A-Bration Sketch

 Hi!

Welcome back for our regular CASEing The Catty Sunday Challenge Blog Hop. Do you enjoy CASEing from the Stampin' Up! catalogues? Then we are the challenge for you!

This week we are asking you to CASE the card on page 5 of the Sale-A-Bration Catalogue, using it as a sketch.

Here's a closer look at the sketch. I like the strong horizontal lines - do you? I decided to flip the sketch somewhat. Instead of coloured strips on top of a white base, I went for white strips over DSP.

The DSP I've chosen is the new Dandy Designs DSP, which is one of the rewards in the SAB Catalogue. I love the mix of Balmy Blue and Coastal Cabana on this paper. Such soothing colours!

I die cut the white piece using a Stitched Rectangle Die, embossed it using the retired Tasteful Textile 3DEF, and then cropped it into four strips. It's one less than is in the sketch, but my tired brain couldn't work out how to get 5 equal strips from a 4" length! (Haha, obviously my brain was VERY tired - the sketch only has 4 stripes!) The ribbon was created by colouring some White Seam Binding with my Dark Pool Party Stampin' Blend. A very handy trick when you don't have the right colour ribbon!

The two sentiment stamps from Biggest Wish said exactly what I needed them to say. Don't you love that?

We'd love for you to play along with us this week. All you need to do is make a card using the sketch for inspiration, take a photo and add it to our Facebook group. No blog necessary!

Speaking of blogs, the next stop on our Sale-A-Bration Sketch blog hop is my lovely South Australian friend, Michelle Stradz. She's used one of my favourite stamp sets from the new Mini Catalogue.

Bye for now,
