Caseing The Catty Blog Hop Guest Designer

Hi!

I was asked recently if I'd like to be a Guest Designer for CASEing The Catty challenge blog. Of course I said yes! The regular DT do a Blog Hop every Sunday evening, with a challenge to CASE a card from a particular section of the Catalogue.

This week the CTC DT are CASEing from the Christmas section. I hadn't looked at this section much yet, as in July Christmas seems to be so far away, but if you're anything like me it sneaks up on you rapidly after that and you're wondering where the time went!

Anyway, I decided to CASE this card on page 29 of the Annual Catalogue. I really liked the CAS look of it.

I don't actually own the Peaceful Pines stamp set and framelits though, so I decided to substitute for the Embellished Ornaments stamps and framelits.

I went for a classic Christmas colour combo of Old Olive, Cherry Cobbler, Whisper White and Gold.

The original card had a few clear sequins scattered on the front, so I added some to my card too. They add a nice little something, but are discrete enough that they don't distract from the main elements.

I always finish the insides of my cards too, so I cut a second bauble from the Red Glimmer Paper to use on the inside.

Thanks so much to the CTC team for having me as a Guest Designer this week, it was lots of fun. Click on the Previous Blog button to go to the CTC Blog and the Next Blog button to go to the next blog in the Blog Hop, which is the lovely Rachel Palmieri.

Embellished Ornaments in Crumb Cake

Hi!

Are you loving the products in the new Holiday Catalogue? I'm especially loving the Embellished Ornaments stamp set and coordinating Delicate Ornaments Thinlits.  Today's card is a CASE of a gorgeous card I saw online that used the bundle.  You can see the original card here.

I made a few changes to Amy's card - Crumb Cake instead of Tip Top Taupe, Baker's Twine instead of ribbon and a different embossing folder.  I also used a stamped panel behind the ornament rather than vellum.

I quite like the look of the stamped panel as it ties in nicely with the design on the stamped ornament. I think my Crumb Cake inkpad needs reinking though!

It's funny how Amy and I ended up with similar insides.  I didn't actually see her inside until I went searching for her blog post to link. I'd only seen the front of her card online and taken a screen capture on my phone. Great minds think alike!

Bye for now,

Tina

AWH Blog Hop: Holiday Catalogue

Hi!

Today some of the Art with Heart Stampin' Up! team girls are sharing some fun and fabulous ideas to inspire you from our brand new Holiday Catalogue available now until 4th January 2016.  I decided to go with the Home For Christmas DSP as the basis for my card.  I love the retro images in the paper!

As you can see, I paired the DSP with the Embellished Ornaments stamp set and Delicate Ornaments Thinlits Dies.  The dies are a great way to add instant Christmas to any card.

Everyone loves a bit of 'shiny' when it comes to Christmas, so I die cut my bauble from the new Red Foil Sheets.  It's so pretty - and I love how easy the intricate bauble is to cut using my Precision Plate in my Big Shot.

The holly leaves are stamped in Mint Macaroon that has been stamped off once.  I really like how it adds a subtle 'oomph' to the sentiment on the inside of the card.

The next blog in the hop belongs to my fellow South Australian, Kathryn Mangelsdorf.  She's bound to have some Holiday gorgeousness on her blog!
