Colour Creations: Night Of Navy

 Hi!

Welcome back to the new Colour Creations Blog Hop. This week we are looking at Night Of Navy, a deep blue from the Neutrals Colour Family.

Brian King has quite a few colour combos that feature Night Of Navy, so it was tricky to narrow the choices down to just one! I decided on this bright combo though, mostly because I haven't played much with Parakeet Party yet.

I started by stamping the Rays Of Light stamp in Parakeet Party on Whisper White card and then cropping it with the largest Stitched Rectangles Die. I matted it on Night Of Navy cardstock before popping it all onto a retired Silver Foil card base.

I was struggling with how to add Poppy Parade to the card, so I decided to add the circles, cropped with the Stylish Shapes Dies, under the focal butterfly (from Butterfly Brilliance) and sentiment. A few red sequins adds to the spotty red theme!

A second butterfly, stamped in Night Of Navy, was the obvious choice for the inside of my card. I used a sentiment from the Light The Candles Card Kit stamp set to go with it. I also used the same stamp set on the front of the card. Don't overlook kit stamp sets - they are sometimes the exact sentiment that you need!

That's all from me this time around, but please do keep jumping around our Blog Hop until you get back to where you started. The next blog belongs to my fabulous friend, Kate Morgan. You won't want to miss her card!

As ever, if you get off track or find a broken link, jump on over to the wonderful Catherine Proctor's blog. You'll find a list of all of tonight's participants there to help you on your way again.

Bye for now,

Tina

CTC 355: Sale-A-Bration Catalogue

 Hi!

I don't know about you, but my weekend has vanished in a blink! LOL, I guess that's what happens when you get stuck into a good book! The end of the weekend means the start of the new CASEing The Catty Challenge, so it can't be all bad.

This week we are asking you to CASE a project from the Sale-A-Bration Catalogue.

I chose this sweet little card, as I really loved the butterflies stamped over the inked cardstock. Aren't they pretty? I don't tend to make smaller cards, and so I decided to switch to a full sized card, and once I started switching things up my card came out very differently to the original.

So it still has butterflies and orange, and has the same die-cut label and white trim, bit otherwise not much is the same. I got a bit lazy with the inked cardstock and decided to stamp on some DSP from the Expressions In Ink SDSP pack using my Butterfly Brilliance stamp set.

The sentiment is from A Good Man - I found that I don't have many sentiments that are suitable for the vertical label from the Tasteful Labels Dies. A few sequins finished off the front of the card.

I don't want to add more butterflies to the inside, so I satisfied myself with a left over strip of the Expressions SDSP and another sentiment from A Good Man.

We'd love for you to play along with us this week while we CASE the SAB Catalogue. All you need to do is add a photo of your card to our Facebook group. Too easy!

Have you finished our Blog Hop? I'm the last stop this week, but if you started somewhere in the middle, then please keep on going until you get to where you started. The first blog this week is Julia Quinn's blog, with her delightful 3D card.

Bye for now,

Tina

JAI 550: Just Add Colour

 Hi!

Hello, and welcome to the new Just Add Ink challenge. This week Jo has put together a really pretty colour combination for us to use.

My first thought was a Christmas card, but I was too lazy to pull my Christmas stuff out of hibernation, so I had to go with something else. My new Butterfly Brilliance stamp set caught my eye!

I started by stamping the butterflies in Petal Pink ink onto Petal Pink cardstock. I then cropped it with a Stitched Rectangle Die and layered it over a second rectangle, cropped from Poppy Parade. These were popped up on my Whisper White card base.

I had hoped to find some Shaded Spruce ribbon in my ribbon drawer to layer under the sentiment, but I came up empty-handed. I had to make do with a piece of cardstock instead. The Shaded Spruce butterfly was adorned with a few Red Rhinestones to finish off the front.

The inside of my card makes use of the outside frame left over from the stamped butterfly panel. I just layered it underneath a smaller piece of Whisper White. I probably should have stamped a few extra butterflies around the edge, but it's too late now. Next time!

Speaking of time, t'snow time for you to pop on over to the Just Add Ink blog, where you can see the rest of this week's Design team cards. We've had a lot of fun with these colours. You can also find the Linky, where you can enter our challenge. What will you do with the colours?

Bye for now,

Tina
