JAI 719: Just Add Colour

 Hi!

Welcome to Friday and the new Just Add Ink challenge. Are you up for it? It's a fun colour combo suggested to us by Kim.

I love that she's selected the gorgeous trio of pinks that all work so well together. The rich green is a lovely compliment to the pinks. Of course, it screams flowers, so that's what I did!

I used all retired products on my card today. The die cut flowers are from Pierced Blooms Dies, and they are popped up over a Stitched Shapes circle die.

The swishes in the background are from the Patchwork Pieces dies. I just used a few of the segments for a fun look. Finally, the sentiment is from Simply Fabulous. They are all products that I love so much, and it was fun to play with them again.

All the same things were used on the inside of the card. I chose to cut the leaves from The Shaded Spruce paper from the Regals DSP pack. The polka dots add some whimsy to the card, I think!

What do you see in this colour combo? We'd love to see what you make. You can add your card to our linky over on the Just Add Ink blog when you're ready. You can also see the other fabulous cards made by the Design Team.

Bye for now,

Tina

Colour Creations: Old Olive

 Hi!

Thanks for joining me for the new Colour Creations Blog Hop. This week we are feating Old Olive. I really struggled with this, as it's more of a 'supporting actor' colour to me than a 'leading actor' colour. I also find it to be a heavy colour, so I decided to use lots of white on my card.

scissorspapercard, Colour Creations, Stampin' Up! Easter Bunny, Nested Essentials Dies, Stampin' Blends

I haven't played much with my Easter Bunny stamp set, so it was a good opportunity to pull it out. I stamped the bunny on the largest Nested Essentials Dies rectangle die cut using Memento ink. I also masked her bottom so that I could stamp some grass around her. I used the second smallest rectangle die to crop the sentiment. I ran it through twice, shifting the die in-between, so that I ended up with. smaller label.

scissorspapercard, Colour Creations, Stampin' Up! Easter Bunny, Nested Essentials Dies, Stampin' Blends

The bunny was coloured with my Stampin' Blend markers. I stamped the flower crown separately and then popped it up over the top once I'd coloured and fussy cut it. I think it's a really cute accessory for the bunny! A Blending Brush and Balmy Blue ink was used to colour the sky section of the panel.

I left the inside mostly blank for now, with just the strip of DSP. I'm not sure how I'll use this card, so I will decide what to stamp on the inside once I know.

Please continue your way round our blog hop tonight. The next stop along the way os my lovely friend, Cathy Proctor. I can't wait to see what she's made.

Cathy is also our wonderful host of the Colour Creations Blog Hops. If you run into issues with links, jump on over to her blog, where you'll find a list of all of tonight's participants to help get you back on track.

Colour Creations: Garden Green

 Hi!

Welcome to Garden Green week of the Colour Creations Blog Hops. I'm not a big green user, but Garden Green is one of the greens that I reach for most often.

scissorspapercard, Colour Creations, Stampin' Up! Sending Smiles Bundle

I decided to use my Sending Smiles bundle this week. The flower stamp that I've used makes me think of lavender. I think it's meant to be wisteria, but the lovely watercolourish look of the stamped image allows for a bit of stretching of the imagination. Do you agree?

scissorspapercard, Colour Creations, Stampin' Up! Sending Smiles Bundle

I used the smaller label in the Sending Smiles Dies to crop the sentiment. I actually cropped it twice, so that the label was smaller than intended. I didn't like all of the space on either side of the 'Birthday Wishes' sentiment.

scissorspapercard, Colour Creations, Stampin' Up! Sending Smiles Bundle

I left the inside sentiment-free for now, as none of the other sentiments in the set really suited. I think it's fine with just the extra sprigs of lavender.

we'd love for you to stop by all of the blogs in tonight's Garden Green blog hop. It's always fun seeing what others have done with the feature colour. The next stop tonight is our lovely Hostess, Cathy Proctor.

Cathy will also have a list of all of tonight's hoppers on her blog to assist you if you run into any difficulties with links.

Colour Creations: Cherry Cobbler

 Hi!

Hello, and thanks for joining me for the new Colour Creations Blog Hop. This week it's Cherry Cobbler's chance to shine!

scissorspapercard, Colour Creations, Stampin' Up! Sending Smiles Bundle

I struggled with ideas for this card, and ended up just seeing what happened when I played with my Sending Smiles bundle. I ended up really liking the card! I offset the main art panel, and I think it worked nicely. It allowed me to overhang one of the flowers on the left by quite a bit.

scissorspapercard, Colour Creations, Stampin' Up! Sending Smiles Bundle

My inkpad clearly needs to be reinked, but I liked the effect of the slightly softer flowers, so I kept on going with the inkpad as it was. I think it goes in nicely with the tone-on-tone DSP in the background, which is from a retired Regals DSP pack. For a little extra oomph, I swished the Crushed Curry flower centres with a swipe of Wink Of Stella.

A few more blooms finished off the inside nicely!

Please keep making your way around tonight's blog hop. The next stop along the way is my lovely friend and fellow South Aussie, Andrea Sargent.

Heart Of Christmas Week 2

 Hi!

Welcome back to my blog for the second Heart Of Christmas Blog Hop. Do you enjoy starting your Christmas card making early in the year, or are you a last minute crafter? Either way, there's lots of inspiration for you when you are ready.

scissorspapercard, Heart Of Christmas, Stampin' Up! Love, Santa Tag Kit

I've once again used the tags from the Love, Santa Tags Kit as the basis for my card. The tags are quite large - the perfect size to feature on a card, I think! I just chopped the tag loop off the top of Santa's head and he was good to go.

scissorspapercard, Heart Of Christmas, Stampin' Up! Love, Santa Tag Kit

I made the tag as directed by the kit, except that I added the loops of twine under the sentiment label rather than use them in the (now chopped off) tag loop.

The inside of my card is a little nod to the fabulous Matildas - I used a little piece of left over Shaded Spruce DSP from the front of the card, and then I trimmed a little piece off the side of the laser cut elements piece from the kit for the yellow strip.

That's all from me for tonight's blog hop, but please keep on hopping around all of the blogs. There's lots to see! Just keep on going until you get back to where you started. The next stop along the way is the lovely Amie McIlroy.

If, at any stage, you find a broken link, please pop on over to our lovely host, Sharon Davern's blog. She will have a list of all of tonight's participants to help get you going again.

CTC 419: Love

 Hi!

Welcome to the new CASEing The Catty Sunday Challenge Blog Hop. It's a great way to end the week!

This week we are asking you to CASE a love project. You can choose anything from the catalogue that makes you think of love.

I chose this Oceanfront card from page 85, with the obvious 'love you' sentiment. The watercolour scene really appealed to me, and it's been a while since I've inked up my Oceanfront stamp set, so that was as good a reason as any to choose this card to CASE.

scissorspapercard, CASEing The Catty, Stampin' Up!, Oceanfront, Easter Bunny, Stylish Shapes Dies

The catalogue samples used Blending Brushes to ink the stamps, with the watercolour paper wet to give the softer look. I chose to use the baby wipe technique instead. I applied some Blackberry Bliss and Calypso Coral ink to the baby wipe, and then used it like an inkpad to ink up my sky stamp. The rest of the scene (apart from the plants) were just stamped as usual onto the wet watercolour paper.

scissorspapercard, CASEing The Catty, Stampin' Up!, Oceanfront, Easter Bunny, Stylish Shapes Dies

Once the panel was dry, the plants were stamped over the top and the card was assembled and decorated.

I recreated the scene on the inside, without the wet watercolour paper. The sentiments that I used on my card are from the Easter Bunny stamp set. They are sort of vague enough to be suitable for several different occasions.

We'd love for you to play along with us this week. All you need to do is make a suitable card, take a photo and upload it to our Facebook group. I can't wait to see which card you choose to CASE.

Before you go, please keep hopping your way around all of the Crew blogs. There's lots more 'love' inspiration to be seen, starting with Julia Quinn with a super sweet card.

Tina

Colour Creations: Real Red

 Hi!

Thanks for joining me for the new Colour Creations Blog Hop. This week it's Real Red's turn to shine.

I chose this gorgeous colour combo from Brian King for my card tonight. As I put on my shoes this morning, I realised why. My red sandals go nicely with my Coastal Cabana coloured toenails! LOL!

scissorspapercard, Colour Creations, Stampin' Up!, Adorable Owls, Simply Fabulous, Stampin' Blends, Sale-A-Bration

I CASEd this layout from a card I saw on Mary Fish's blog, made by Jennifer Roque of Stamp Camp With Jen. The three strips of DSP are the same, but she used flowers where I used the owls. Speaking of owls, let's not mention that I forgot that they retired yesterday! Oops!

scissorspapercard, Colour Creations, Stampin' Up!, Adorable Owls, Simply Fabulous, Stampin' Blends, Sale-A-Bration

I coloured the owl from Adorable Owls using my Stampin' Blends. You may have noticed that I snuck a little Mango Melody in for the beak and feet. Unavoidable, really! The bow and party hat came from the two other owls, I just fussy cut them so that I could use them on this owl.

Another owl was used for the inside. He looks little nervous to me, don't you think?

That's all from me for this week's Blog Hop. Please jump on over to the lovely Fiona Ryan's blog. I'm sure she's got something wonderful for you to see.

And, as always, if you run into any issues with links, please head on over to the wonderful Cathy Proctor's blog. She will have a list of all of tonight's participants to help you get back on track.

CTC 402: CASE The Mini Catalogue

 Hi!

Thanks for stopping by on the CASEing The Catty Sunday Challenge Blog Hop. By now I hope that you've been able to have a good look at the new Mini Catalogue, because that's what we are CASEing this week.

You can choose any project from any page of the Mini Catalogue to CASE. I found this Enjoy The Moment Memories & More card on page 73. The repetitive hearts background caught my eye, and coming on top of the thought that I hadn't used my Dots & Spots Die much, it was a no-brainer to CASE.

I started by working out which size of the Stitched Rectangles Dies worked best with the Dots & Spots Dies, as I wanted all of the spots to be contained within the rectangle. I backed the resulting Very Vanilla piece with some Night Of Navy cardstock, and then matted it on Shaded Spruce Card. The whole things was popped up over two layers of Crumb Cake card.

scissorspapercard, CASEing The Catty, Stampin' Up!, Tech Support, Tailor Made Tags Dies, Dots & Spots Die

I used my Tech Support stamp set to decorate the front. Instead of flowers tucked behind the sentiment, I used the image of keys. Hehe, I use the 'age not found' sentiment a lot - I think it's funny! I stamped it on Very Vanilla card and then cropped it with one of my Tailor Made Tags Dies. The twine is retired.

scissorspapercard, CASEing The Catty, Stampin' Up!, Tech Support, Tailor Made Tags Dies, Dots & Spots Die

I used the second half of the sentiment on the inside of the card, along with a pointer image.

scissorspapercard, CASEing The Catty, Stampin' Up!, Tech Support, Tailor Made Tags Dies, Dots & Spots Die

We'd love for you to CASE The Catty along with us. Just make a card that is a CASE of one in the Mini Catalogue and add a photo to our Facebook Group. It really is that easy!

Thanks again for stopping by, but don't stop here - please keep going on our Blog Hop tonight by jumping on over to Julia Quinn's blog. She's got a gorgeous, sunshiny card that's bound to make you smile.

Bye for now,

Tina

Colour Creations: Old Olive

 Hi!

Thanks for joining me for the final Colour Creations Blog Hop for 2022. Don't worry, we'll be back in 2023 with the rest of the colours! This week we are focusing on Old Olive - a longtime staple of the colour range. As the name suggests, it's an olive green that's quite versatile.

I was intrigued by this colour combo from Brian King. I don't usually put two greens together, especially two that are as different as Old Olive and Shaded Spruce, but I was keen to give it a go!

scissorspapercard, Colour Creations, Plentiful Plants, Simply Fabulous, Stylish Shapes Dies, Plentiful Plants Dies

Shaded Spruce is a great colour for succulents, so I pulled out my Plentiful Plants bundle and stamped some of the images. I think this plant is a mother-in-law's tongue? It sits perfectly in the two-handled pot, which I stamped in Rich Razzleberry.

scissorspapercard, Colour Creations, Plentiful Plants, Simply Fabulous, Stylish Shapes Dies, Plentiful Plants Dies

I used my Simply Fabulous stamp set for the sentiment, cropped using a Simply Stylish Die. I had initially planned to heat emboss a sentiment on the Old Olive banner underneath, but I ran out of time. This was a great alternative.

scissorspapercard, Colour Creations, Plentiful Plants, Simply Fabulous, Stylish Shapes Dies, Plentiful Plants Dies

Here's a tip for you - it you have an offcut of DSP to use, but it's not quite wide enough, snip off one end at an angle and make it look like a feature!

Thanks for hopping along with us in 2022, we hope that you continue to do so in 2023. For now though,  please do continue on your way with tonight's hop, starting with my lovely friend Di Furniss. Di's favourite colour is green, so I'm sure she's had a wonderful time creating with Old Olive.

The place to go for help if you run into any problems with links is the wonderful Cathy Proctor's blog. She does a fabulous job of keeping us all organised. She has a list of all of tonight's participants on her blog to help get you back on track.

Bye for now,
