Heart Of Christmas Week 13

 Hi!

Wowee! Week 13 of the Heart Of Christmas Blog Hops already! That means that I've added over 50 Christmas cards to my stash already this year. I think it will be a very important year for sending Christmas cards this year, so I'm thrilled to be so organised so early.

This week my Sheetload Of Cards template is from June 2020. Have you looked them up yet? They make it a snap to make a heap of cards that uses up a heap of DSP - and let's face it, who of us doesn't have a heap of DSP to be used up? LOL! I've selected the Peaceful Prints DSP, as it's a Sale-A-Bration choice that will very soon be gone. I have been yet to use the birch tree print, so that's where I started with my card.

As you've probably worked out, I am really loving the Christmas To Remember stamp set for it's wonderful sentiments. They are all kinds of shapes and sizes, so you are bound to find the perfectly sized sentiment in the set.

I went back to an old favourite combo of the Pine Tree punch embossed with the Tasteful Textile 3DEF folder to decorate the front of my card. I think I might dig up a sparkly star of some sort to add to the tree, though - when I look at this photo they all look a little plain. What do you think?

Heart Of Christmas Week 12

 Hi!

Phew! Can you believe that we are up to week 12 of the Heart Of Christmas Blog Hops? I'm pretty sire I say that every week (with the relevant week number), but I somehow seem to be surprised all over again each week at how fast the year is flying by.

I'm once again using a Sheetload Of Cards template, along with my SU supplies, to create a group of four cards this week. It's the May 2020 template, and I've combined it with some Peaceful Prints DSP and Christmas To Remember stamp set.

This was a pretty quick set of card to make. The trickiest part was cropping the DSP for the front to create the four different panels. So that each set of papers matched, two layers of DSP were cropped at once. Any slightly dodgy bits were hidden under the sentiment circle - not that I'm admitting to any dodgy bits! LOL!!

I played with the layout of the cards by flipping the DSP panel upside down for two of the cards. I don't think that I have a preference for the circle being high or low - I quite like both!

JAI 571: Just Add Lines

 Hi!

Thanks for joining me for the new Just Add Ink challenge. This week Kelly is challenging us to add lines to our cards.

Hmm, that got me thinking about all the ways to add lines to a project. There's a lot of choices - stamping, stencilling, DSP, scoring, just to name a few. Now, you know that I like to think out of the box for these challenges, and initially I was thinking about trying to incorporate a one-liner joke into a card, but I couldn't make it work. Then I was going through my Christmas supplies and found a subway art style stamp from Ink Road Stamps, called Subway Art: Christmas. It's perfect for the challenge - it consists of a whole lot of lines from Christmas songs.

I started by stamping the lines on Whisper White card in Garden Green ink, and then used a Blending Brush to apply some more ink around the edges. It was matted on a piece of Peaceful Prints DSP and then to a Garden Green card base.

One of the lines in the stamp was from Silver Bells, one of my favourite Christmas songs. It inspired the silver foil bells on the front of my card. The dies are from the Gingerbread Dies set, and both layers are cut from the Silver Foil - isn't it a cool effect?

I cut an extra bell to go on the inside. I backed the foil with adhesive sheet before cropping the bells. This helps to keep all of the little pieces in place. I removed them for the bells on the front, as they were double layered, but I kept them in place for the inside bell. The sentiment is from Words Of Cheer.

Heart Of Christmas Week 9

 Hi!

Wow, we are already up to Week 9 of the Heart Of Christmas Blog Hops - can you believe how quickly Christmas is approaching? It's definitely time to get cracking on creating Christmas cards, and hopefully the team can help with inspiration for you.

This week I have used the March 2020 Sheetload Of Cards template, with Peaceful Prints DSP and Christmas To Remember. I'm really liking the Sheetload Of Cards concept: not only does it make me use my DSP, it's a reminder that I don't need to have 'all the things' in order to make a nice card. Of course, I still like to have all the things, though!

September is the last month for the second Sale-A-Bration this year, so you have less than a month to earn any rewards that you may have your eye on. The DSP that I've used is one such reward.

As usual, I made four cards using the template. Another nice little pile to add to my growing stash of Christmas cards!

CTC 330: CASE The SAB Catalogue

Thanks for joining me on a Sunday night for the new CASEing The Catty Sunday Challenge Blog Hop. Such a crazy week in Australia, with lockdowns starting, stopping and continuing. If you're currently locked down, I hope you're doing OK.

This week we are asking you to CASE any project from the new August-September Sale-A-Bration Catalogue. It's the first time having two Sale-A-Brations in a year, so just a bit exciting! Have you chosen your favourite items yet? I find myself liking the Peaceful Prints DSP, despite not liking plaid at all! I chose this Christmas card, from page 9.

I switched it up a bit, mostly by making it a regular sized top fold card, rather than a slimline card.

I don't have the punch for the deer, so this image from the DSP was fussy cut for my card. It's no too tricky of a shape to cut by hand, thankfully! The sentiment is from Christmas To Remember, my favourite sentiment-only set from the current Mini Catalogue. I fussy cut around it, too.

The Garden Green DSP is from the Peaceful Prints pack, but the textural-looking pieces are from In Good Taste. They are cropped with one of my Stitched Triangles Dies. To help keep them straight as I adhered them to my card, I scored a few lines below where I wanted the triangles. It's a nice subtle feature, that is a big help!

I used one of the offcuts from the front, and another Garden Green triangle, to decorate the inside. You know me - I hate to waste any useable pieces!

Heart Of Christmas Week 4

 Hi!

Week Four of the Heart Of Christmas Blog Hop already! Have you been hopping with us each week? I hope so! I have very much enjoyed seeing everyone's gorgeous creations each week. I have four more cards for you tonight.

These cards are made using the October 2019 Sheetload Of Cards template. It's a fancy fold this week, but an easy one. The front of the card base has been folded back on itself and an extra, smaller panel added at the front.

I've used the new Sale-A-Bration DSP, Peaceful Prints on my cards. It's a great mix of colours and Christmassy patterns. I do not like plaid at all, so would usually avoid paper like this, but the plaid was sufficiently subtle under the lovely snowflakes. LOL!! The stamp set that I have used is Christmas To Remember, and I've once again used the Tasteful Textile 3DEF to emboss my Pine Tree punched shapes.

Here's my group of cards, and you can see how I've mixed and matched the four DSP patterns on my cards. Another four into my stash, so I must be up to at least 16 cards by now. Hooray!
