JAI 685: Just Add Flowers

 Hi!

Welcome back for another fun year of Just Add Ink challenges! As usual, we are kicking off the year with a Blog Hop to launch the first challenge of 2024. The blog before mine was Annie Alexander's. Wasn't her card gorgeous?

Speaking of gorgeous, what about that challenge graphic? So pretty! We are asking you to Just Add Flowers for our first challenge of 2024.

scissorspapercard, Just Add Ink, Stampin' Up! Days To Remember, Pierced Blooms Dies, Stylish Shapes Dies

I reached for my retired Pierced Blooms dies - my favourite floral dies of all time, I think. I cropped the blooms from Berry Burst and Bubble Bath cardstock, with Lemon Lime Twist leaves.

The circle die cut is from Stylish Shapes Dies, and was edged in Balmy Blue ink using a Blending Brush. I cut a length of Shimmery White ribbon in half lengthwise for the sweet little bow.

The sentiments I have used on my card are from Days To Remember. I sometimes forget that this set has more than just calendar stamps!

That's all from me for this week's challenge, but please keep hopping around all of the blogs tonight. Just keep on going until you get back to where you stared. The next stop along the way is the lovely Lou Kitzelman.

When you've made your Just Add Flowers card, jump on over to the Just Add Ink blog, where you'll find the Linky for the challenge. We'd love to see what you make!

Colour Creations: Fresh Freesia

 Hi!

Welcome to the Fresh Freesia week of the Colour Creations Blog Hops. Are you a fan of Fresh Freesia? It's a soft mauve that is yet to grow on me. Knowing the rest of the Colour Creations hoppers, by the time I've seen everyone's creations I will love it!

scissorspapercard, Colour Creations, Stampin' Up! Days To Remember, Artistic Dies, Bright & Beautiful DSP

I started with my pack of Bright & Beautiful DSP. While 'bright' might not apply to my selected papers, I think that 'beautiful' does. I love the spotty paper, and the soft wash of the bottom paper.

scissorspapercard, Colour Creations, Stampin' Up! Days To Remember, Artistic Dies, Bright & Beautiful DSP

I struggled with what to do after creating the base of the card, and then I found the die cut from Artistic Dies floating on my desk. I painstakingly added little snippets of Dimensionals to the back so that I could pop it up over the base. I love that I got the floral effect, but I can still see lots of the spotty paper underneath.

Because I loved it so much, I used it again on the inside of the card. A sweet twine bow finishes it off nicely, along with a sentiment from Days To Remember.

Next stop in tonight's hop is my lovely friend, Andrea Sargent. I'm sure that she has made something fabulous with Fresh Freesia!

If you happen to run into any problems with links, just jump on over to the wonderful Cathy Proctor's blog. She keeps us all organised, and will have a list of all of tonight's participants on her blog to help get you back on track.

Colour Creations: Flirty Flamingo

 Hi!

Welcome to the Flirty Flamingo edition of the Colour Creations Blog Hops. Are you a fan of the bright pink? I wasn't start with, but I'm coming around to it. I decided to use some of the Hello, Irresistible DSP on my card.

scissorspapercard, Colour Creations, Stampin' Up! Days To Remember, Hello Irresistible DSP, Nested Essentials Dies

I don't like a lot of the papers in the pack, but I do love this all over floral design. To make it a bit more interesting, I cropped a section that featured a taller flower using the largest of the elongated hexagon dies in the Nested Essentials Dies set. I matted it on Whisper White and popped it up over the rest of the DSP.

scissorspapercard, Colour Creations, Stampin' Up! Days To Remember, Hello Irresistible DSP, Nested Essentials Dies

One of the banner dies was used to crop the sentiment, which is from Days To Remember. You can't go too wrong with some sparkly ribbon, so a short length was added under the banner. Speaking of sparkly, I swished some Wink Of Stella over the flowers in the popped up piece - it's just tricky to photograph!

scissorspapercard, Colour Creations, Stampin' Up! Days To Remember, Hello Irresistible DSP, Nested Essentials Dies

I had a long, narrow strip of the DSP left, so I cut it in half and adhered it to either side of the writing panel on the inside of my card. It's a great way to use up scraps and adds a little bit of interest to the card.

My lovely friend, Kate Morgan, is the nest stop along the way in our blog hop tonight. You won't want to miss any of the Flirty Flamingo gorgeousness, so just keep on hopping until you get back to where you started.

As ever, Cathy Proctor does a wonderful job of keeping us all organised. If you run into any problems with links, just pop on over to her blog. She will have a list of all of tonight's participants to help get you back on track.

Colour Creations: Blackberry Bliss

 Hi!

Welcome to the new Colour Creations Blog Hop. This week's colour is Blackberry Bliss - a rich purple that I quite like, but don't use often. Sometimes it's a struggle to know quite what to do with it! It was an extra struggle this week, as once again I had a very short period of time in which to make a card. I think this one took 20 minutes, but I didn't set a timer this time.

scissorspapercard, Colour Creations, Stampin' Up! Days To Remember, Stylish Shapes Dies, Songbird Builder Punch, Cloud Punch

I had hoped that my new Sending Smiles stamp set and dies would arrive today, but despite being 'on board for delivery', they were a no show. Take 2 uses the Songbird Builder Punch in a very pared back design.

scissorspapercard, Colour Creations, Stampin' Up! Days To Remember, Stylish Shapes Dies, Songbird Builder Punch, Cloud Punch

I'd originally only intended on having the bird and the Stylish Shapes circle, but I felt that the card was TOO plain. The punched Clouds were a great addition, and a very logical choice for a bird card.

scissorspapercard, Colour Creations, Stampin' Up! Days To Remember, Stylish Shapes Dies, Songbird Builder Punch, Cloud Punch

It's hard to see the cloud that the inside birdie is perched on, but it's definitely there. I used sentiments from Days To Remember on my card. It's an easy set to overlook as just a 'calendar' set, but it has a good range of sentiments.

Thanks for stopping by, but please do continue your way around our Blog Hop tonight. The next stop is my lovely friend, Andrea Sargent, and I'm sure that she's done marvellous things with Blackberry Bliss!

If at any time you find a broken link, please head to the blog of this week’s host of the AWH Colour Creations Blog Hop, Cathy Proctor, and she will have the list of all participants.

Colour Creations: Azure Afternoon

Hi!

Thanks for once again joining me for the new Colour Creations Blog Hop. This week we are starting on the new Core Colours that are brand new to the SU colour range. It's a lovely bright blue, called Azure Afternoon.

scissorspapercard, Colour Creations, Stampin' Up!, Watercolour World, Days To Remember, Fresh As A Daisy DSP, Stylish Shapes Dies

I started with a piece of Boho Blue DSP from the Fresh As A Daisy pack and stamped Watercolour World on the paper with Azure Afternoon ink. I thought that the white-ish streaks in the paper looked a bit like wispy clouds. Which doesn't really make sense if you think about it - it you were looking at the Earth from above the clouds, you certainly wouldn't be able to see the whole of the globe at once. Silly me!

scissorspapercard, Colour Creations, Stampin' Up!, Watercolour World, Days To Remember, Fresh As A Daisy DSP, Stylish Shapes Dies

I layered some Vellum and a length of Herringbone Ribbon under my sentiment, which is from Days To Remember. Nice and simple, so that I don't detract too much from the globe image.

scissorspapercard, Colour Creations, Stampin' Up!, Watercolour World, Days To Remember, Fresh As A Daisy DSP, Stylish Shapes Dies

I stamped a portion of the image once again on the inside of my card. I had to include the part with Australia and New Zealand!

That's all from me for tonight, but please do make sure that you jump around all of the blogs in tonight's hop. There's lots more Azure Afternoon goodness to see, starting with Amie McIlroy.

As always, the wonderful Cathy Proctor keeps us all organised each week for the hops. She'll help you, too, if you run into any issues. Just pop on over to her blog, where you'll find a list of all of tonight's participants to help get you back on track.

CTC 379: Sale-A-Bration Catalogue

 Hi!

Welcome back to the new CASEing The Catty Sunday Challenge Blog Hop. Can you believe that it's the end of the week - and for me, the end of the school holidays - already?

This week we are returning to the Sale-A-Bration catalogue. You can CASE any project on any page. I found this fun card on page 4.

Rays Of Light was one of the very first stamp sets I purchased from the Annual Catalogue, so I'm always on the lookout for samples using it. I loved that each individual ray was cut out and applied to this card, so like a crazy woman, I decided to CASE it.

There's a LOT of rays! LOL. I stamped the image on two pieces of Flirty Flamingo cardstock. One was cropped with a Stitched Rectangles Die. I fussy cut each ray from the second piece of cardstock and layered it over the top. I adhered the inner part of the ray directly to the cardstock, and the end of the ray was popped up on Dimensionals. It gave a really cool effect to the card.

scissorspapercard, Stampin' Up!, CASEing The Catty, Nothing's Better Than, Days To Remember, Rays Of Light, Love You More Than Dies

Once I finished, I trimmed the edges and adhered the piece to a Gold Foil card. The Nothing's Better Than bundle was used to decorate the card. I cropped the word 'Cocktails' five times - four in Basic Black and one in Gold foil. I made sure I used Adhesive Sheet on the back so that I was able to adhere the layers together easily.

I couldn't resist adding another cocktail to the inside. This card will be going to a niece, who is celebrating her 18th birthday later in the month.

We'd love for you to play along with us this week, and every week! All you need to do is make a suitable card, take a photo and add it to our Facebook group. Easy!

Please keep on hopping around our blog hop, as there is plenty more gorgeous Sale-A-Bration inspiration to be found, starting with the lovely Julia Quinn

Colour Creations: Blackberry Bliss

 Hi!

Thanks for stopping by for the new Colour Creations Blog Hop. This week it's all about Blackberry Bliss, which is a dark, rich purple from the Regals colour family.

Brian King has once again been the source of a fun colour combo featuring Blackberry Bliss. I would never have thought to combine these colours, but after playing, I think they are great together.

scissorspapercard, Stampin' Up!, Colour Creations, Amazing Phrasing SAB, Days To Remember, Sale-A-Bration, Triple Layer Card

Woo Hoo! My Amazing Phrasing Sale-A-Bration stamp set arrived, so I was able to have another play with the shadow technique. I think I was right last week - the wider font in this set makes it a fantastic choice for this technique. The Triple Layer card makes the centre sentiment stand out from the rest.

scissorspapercard, Stampin' Up!, Colour Creations, Amazing Phrasing SAB, Days To Remember, Sale-A-Bration, Triple Layer Card

I stamped first in Blackberry Bliss, and then the shadow in Pool Party, as it's easier to line up the shadow if you stamp the darker colour first. The downside is that the stamp picks up the BB ink, so I had to keep cleaning my stamp after each use so that I didn't end up with a mucky Pool Party ink pad. The stars are from Days To Remember, and are stamped in Daffodil Delight.

I used the offcuts from the front to decorate the inside. I think I'm going to have a lot of fun with this stamp set!

It's now time to pop on over to Rachel Woollard's blog so that you can continue your way around our Blackberry Bliss blog hop. You won't want to miss out on any of tonight's projects!

As ever, if you run into any difficulties, please jump to Catherine Proctor's blog. She has a master list of all of tonight's participants so that you can find your way again.
