JAI 616: Just Add A Sketch

 Hi!

Welcome back to a new Just Add Ink challenge. It's always such a great way to start the weekend, don't you think? Hudson and I have both been sick with colds this week, so I'll be glad for the weekend, when Rob is home to help with the caring load.

Speaking of Rob, I used this week's awesome sketch, designed by Narelle, to create a birthday card for him. His birthday was a couple of weeks ago, so he's been under strict instructions to NOT post a photo online.

The stamps, sentiments and die cuts are all from a Limited Edition Kindred Stamps kit, called Game On. I had a lot of fun playing with it! I used the sunburst stencil from the long-retired Hooray It's Your Day kit with some Salty Ocean Distress Oxide ink. Does it look like the go-kart driver is bursting out of the page? I hope so!

The Go-Kart Dies from the kit were used to create the awesome kart. There's quite a few little layers to put together, but it looks so good in the end, so well worth the effort.

Rob loved the card, and chuckled out loud when he opened it to see the inside.

That's all from me for this week - but your job is just starting! Pop on over to the Just Add Ink blog, where you'll find lots more gorgeous inspiration from the Design Team. It's also where you'll find our linky to enter the challenge. What do you see in Narelle's sketch?

Bye for now,

Tina

JAI 606: Just Add A Sketch

 Hi!

Thanks for joining me for the new Just Add Ink challenge. Are you ready? It's a fun sketch, designed by Lou.

What do you think? There's lots of different ways to play with this one, I think! I decided to use some goodies from my new purchase, the Game On Limited Edition box from Kindred Stamps.

I started by creating my background. The brick wall paper is from the 8-Bit Game paper pack, which came in the Game On Box. The cloud paper was from an older Kindred LE box, Justice Is Served.

I used Green and Red Foil and the Game Scene Dies to create my feature element. I think that once I know the age of the child that I will give this to, I will add a Gold Foil number above the flower. The sentiment is from the Game On stamp set.

I couldn't resist stamping and colouring a character from the stamp set on the inside. I can just imagine him leaping into the air and calling out 'Lets-a party'!

It's time for you to join the party by playing along with our challenge. First, pop on over to the Just Add Ink blog, where you'll find the rest of the Design Team's cards. When you've made your card using our sketch, you can also link it up there. I can't wait to see what you make!

Bye for now,

Tina

JAI #502: Just Add A Sketch

Hi!

It's Friday again, which means it's nearly the weekend, but first it's time for the new Just Add Ink challenge. This time it's a sketch designed by me!

I must have designed it a while ago, as I didn't remember it at all! I really like it though, there's lots of fun stuff you could do with it. I actually flipped the sketch and then pushed the layers off-center, as it suited my plan better.

My oldest child, Alex, turned 17 this month. He had a quiet birthday while sheltering at home, but I made up for it by ordering him an Oreo cake from the Cheesecake Shop. We also toasted some marshmallows around our fire pit, so overall he enjoyed his birthday.

Today's card is an attempt to replicate one of his favourite games, Minecraft. To make the background, I just cut a heap of 1/2 inch squares from brown, grey and green cardstock. I then arranged them on a piece of Smokey Slate cardstock using Tombow glue. The stamps are from an Ink Road Stamps set called Game On. I stamped them in Call Me Clover, to match the vibrant green of Minecraft.

I had some left over squares, so they were perfect for the inside of the card. According to Alex, the sentiment on the inside belongs to a sneaky character called a Creeper, that sneaks up on you and explodes! They are hard to see, so all you usually get as warning is the sssss before the boom! Have you learnt something - I certainly did!

That's it from me today - I'm off to practice the Last Post so that I can play it on my driveway tomorrow morning for Anzac Day. Hopefully I don't mess it up too badly! While I'm practicing, why don't you pop on over to the Just Add Ink blog, where you can see the rest of this week's Design team cards? You can also link up your own for the challenge. I can't wait to see what you do with my sketch.

Bye for now,

Tina
