Colour Creations: Parakeet Party

 Hi!

Thanks for joining us for the new Colour Creations Blog Hop. This week it's Parakeet Party's time to shine. It's a bold, bright green that sits in the 2022-2024 In Colour Family - which means that it's only around until the end of the current Annual Catalogue.

I decided to go simple with my card, and let the black polka dots do all the work. I used my Dots & Spots die to crop the dots into the Parakeet Party layer, and then backed it with a slightly larger Basic Black layer. I popped it all on a Parakeet Party card base.

Now, the trick was how to add a sentiment. I played around with my Biggest Wish stamp set and some scraps of Whisper White card, and settled on this quick and easy arrangement. I wouldn't usually have a banner floating on a card, but I'm totally loving this look! Perhaps the black dots help to anchor it?

I also used the companion stamp set, More Wishes on the inside of my card. It's carried over from the previous Mini Catalogue (yay!), and is perfect to mix and match with Biggest Wish.

That's all from me tonight, but please do make your way around all of the blogs in tonight's hop. The next stop is the lovely Kate Morgan, who always blows me away with her creativity.

As always, if you run into issues with any of the links, just pop on over to Cathy Proctor's blog. She'll have a list of all of tonight's participants to help get you back on track. Isn't she a gem?

Bye for now,

Tina

Colour Creations: Berry Burst

 Hi!

Welcome to the new Colour Creations Blog Hop, where we are celebrating a colour that I was thrilled to see make a return to the colour lineup. Berry Burst was a favourite, and one that I'd kept when it retired last time. Very handy when it was announced in the latest colour refresh!

I had thought to make a floral card with Berry Burst, but when I went to look at my current stamp sets, I could not find a single floral stamp set! Luckily today was a snap sale from Stampin' Up! with 15% off of all stamp sets.

I still wanted to make a feminine card, but I had to pivot just a little. I was also thrilled that the Dazzle paper (now known as More Dazzle) was making a return in this catalogue, so my card concept was based around both it and Berry Burst.

I used my Dots & Spots Die to crop the Berry Burst card and layered it over the More Dazzle paper. An extra little scrap was used as a banner under the 'birthday' part of my sentiment. I don't want to waste any of the paper!

Another little strip was used on the inside. While I don't want to waste it, I certainly don't want to hoard it!

My lovely friend, Sharon Davern is the next stop on tonight's Blog Hop. I wonder what Berry Burst deliciousness she will have for us?

If you run into any problems with the Hop tonight, just jump on over to the wonderful Cathy Proctor's blog. She does a marvellous job of keeping us all organised.

Colour Creations: Soft Suede

 Hi!

Hello, and welcome to the final Colour Creations Blog Hop for the 2022-23 Catalogue. Never fear - we will start again next week with the brand new In Colours. This week, however, we are finishing with Soft Suede, a colour that we are farewelling permanently from the colour line up.

I turned to Brian King one last time for a colour combo, that added Petal Pink and Mint Macaron (sob!! It's retiring too!) to Soft Suede. It's a very retro combo, so I pulled out the retiring Nothing's Better Than stamp set, with the coordinating Love You More Than Dies. Sadly, they are both retiring, too.

I also thought that my Dots & Spots Die would work well with the retro vibe of the card. It allows little pops of Soft Suede to peek through from the card base.

I stamped each of the coffee cups in the colours from the combo, popping up the central, Soft Suede Cup. I'm really not a fan of Soft Suede, and I found it really difficult to find a nice way to make it the main colour.

I love the inside that I created for my card. The coffee cup over the banner is so much fun!

I'll likely take a couple of weeks off from the Colour Creations Hop, for a variety of reasons, but mostly because I've forgotten to order any of the new colour stuff from Stampin' Up!. Oops! I'll get to it soon! In the meantime though, there's plenty more Soft Suede inspiration to be found on this blog hop, so jump on over to the lovely Caroline Manwaring's blog to see what she's done with it.

As always, even while busily setting up the next round of Colour Creations Blog Hops, Cathy Proctor is our wonderful Host. Pop on over to her blog if you run into any issues with links. She's have a list of all of tonight's participants on her blog for you to get back on track.

Bye for now,

Tina

CTC 402: CASE The Mini Catalogue

 Hi!

Thanks for stopping by on the CASEing The Catty Sunday Challenge Blog Hop. By now I hope that you've been able to have a good look at the new Mini Catalogue, because that's what we are CASEing this week.

You can choose any project from any page of the Mini Catalogue to CASE. I found this Enjoy The Moment Memories & More card on page 73. The repetitive hearts background caught my eye, and coming on top of the thought that I hadn't used my Dots & Spots Die much, it was a no-brainer to CASE.

I started by working out which size of the Stitched Rectangles Dies worked best with the Dots & Spots Dies, as I wanted all of the spots to be contained within the rectangle. I backed the resulting Very Vanilla piece with some Night Of Navy cardstock, and then matted it on Shaded Spruce Card. The whole things was popped up over two layers of Crumb Cake card.

I used my Tech Support stamp set to decorate the front. Instead of flowers tucked behind the sentiment, I used the image of keys. Hehe, I use the 'age not found' sentiment a lot - I think it's funny! I stamped it on Very Vanilla card and then cropped it with one of my Tailor Made Tags Dies. The twine is retired.

I used the second half of the sentiment on the inside of the card, along with a pointer image.

We'd love for you to CASE The Catty along with us. Just make a card that is a CASE of one in the Mini Catalogue and add a photo to our Facebook Group. It really is that easy!

Thanks again for stopping by, but don't stop here - please keep going on our Blog Hop tonight by jumping on over to Julia Quinn's blog. She's got a gorgeous, sunshiny card that's bound to make you smile.

Bye for now,

Tina

Colour Creations: Mango Melody

 Hi!

Mango Melody sounds very tropical, doesn't it? I tell you what, I could do with some tropical right about now! It's been cold, wet and gloomy here for days, and we are only a month away from the start of summer. Brrr! I will have to be content with the colour Mango Melody, which is the feature colour for this week's Colour Creations Blog Hop.

I'm using another Brian King colour combo this week, which pairs Mango Melody with Smoky Slate and Basic Black.  I was determined to use my Dots & Spots Die, as I purchased it a while ago, but have been yet to use it.

Doesn't it create an awesome background? The black really pops!

scissorspapercard, Stampin' Up!, Colour Creations, Tech Support, Dots & Spots Die, Stylish Shapes Die, Stampin' Blends

I pulled out my Tech Support stamp set to play with. I think it's the grey in the combo - I'm old enough to come from an era when all computers were grey and so it just goes with Tech Support. LOL! I really  love this sentiment, but I always seem to split it so that I have something appropriate to go on the inside of my card.

scissorspapercard, Stampin' Up!, Colour Creations, Tech Support, Dots & Spots Die, Stylish Shapes Die, Stampin' Blends

I roughly stamped the keyboard stamp on the Stylish Shapes circle on the front of my card, and then carried it over to the inside. I deliberately stamped the image on a lean - there's no way I'd get them all lined up and even without a massive amount of effort, so my trick is to do it deliberately wonky!

Thanks for stopping by, but please keep on jumping around our Blog Hop tonight - there's lots more to see, starting with the lovely Rachel Woollard.

If at any time you find a broken link, please head to the blog of this week’s host of the AWH Colour Creations Blog Hop, Cathy Proctor, and she will have the list of all participants.

Bye for now,

Tina
