Notre Dame Selfies

Hi!

It's been a while since I showed you any more of the pages from my Paris Selfies album, so today I have some photos of our visit to Notre Dame.

The square at the front of Notre Dame was one of my favourite places to sit munching on Sucre (sugar) Crepes and people watch. There are always lots of people to watch!

In fact there were so many we almost didn't find the Zero Point of Paris.  All distances in France are measured from this point and legend has it that if you stand on the point you will return to Paris one day.  Here's hoping!

Pop back tomorrow, as the Just Add Ink team are doing a special blog post!

Bye for now,

Royally Unscripted Clockworks

Hi!

I haven't had a lot of time lately for entering challenges, but with the slower pace of summer holidays I thought I'd enter a few.  The two that jumped out at me were the sketch at Unscripted Sketches and the colour combo at Stampin' Royalty. I combined them to create this card.

I thought the two challenges combined were a great masculine card. The bottom layer was some DSP from the Comfort Cafe pack. I collage stamped the Crumb Cake layer with stamps from the Clockworks stamp set. I then spritzed over the whole lot with my Colour Spritzer and Soft Suede marker.

I stamped the inside in a similar manner to the front of the card. The sentiment is from the retired Happiest Birthday Wishes stamp set.

Well, that's it. I'm hoping to find a bit more time to enter some more challenges this year.

Bye for now,

JAI #146: Just Add Colour

Hi!

Doing a happy dance here, because it's Friday!

Time for another challenge at Just Add Ink.  This week Kim has challenged us with this very pretty colour combination.
I decided to make a pretty, feminine card.

The papers were from the Festival Of Prints DSP Stack and the Comfort Cafe DSP pack. They look so pretty together! The butterflies are from the Papillion Potpourri stamp set.  I stamped the centre one twice, punched out one with my Elegant Butterfly Punch and curled the wings to give it some depth.

The Basic Jewel Pearls really finish off the butterflies.

Some more butterflies and Pool Party Baker's Twine to finish off the inside.

I hope you can play along this week at Just Add Ink.

Paris Selfies Album Part 2

Hi!

Apologies again for the late Monday post - very busy weekend! I have for you today a few more pages from the Paris Selfies Album I'm making for my husband for Christmas.  You can see the first part of the album here. I also made it for the current Just Add Ink scrapbooking challenge, which is to make a Christmas gift  using at least 4 photos.

I did already show you this page the other day, but it wasn't quite finished - I hadn't added the journalling strips.  Now all it needs are the memory cards that will tuck into the pocket behind the photo.  The pocket was made from a Medium Envelope that I sealed and then cut in half to get two pockets.

You may have noticed the Pool Party tab at the side of the page.  Each page is made from the retired Square Envelopes so that I could include an insert between each page.

Here's the first side of the insert.  The photo is only adhered to the page on three sides, leaving the top side open to act as a pocket for more memory cards.

On this side I left the side of the photo open to tuck the memory cards into.  We didn't think about taking all our selfie photos in landscape orientation at the time!

I'll be back with more pages soon.

Bye for now,

Tina

JAI Scrapbooking Challenge #11: Just Add A Christmas Gift

Hi!

Are you as busy as the Just Add Ink scrap team at this time of year? Ruthy, Delys and I are all so busy with a whole lot of stuff this time of year, so we've decided to run the final scrapbooking challenge until the end of the year.  Yes, that's right, you have until the 31st December to get your entry in!

So what is the challenge this month? It's to create a Christmas gift, such as a mini album, printer's tray, canvas, etc that has at least 4 photos.  I decided to make a mini album to give to my husband for Christmas.

The album is made to document our travels in Paris earlier this year, but not our 'regular' photos. In this album I have our 'selfie' photos taken on Rob's iPod. A selfie photo is one taken by a person that is also in the photos - I guess selfie is short for self portrait! Anyway, we took a selfie photo at many of the places we visited on our holiday.

I made the album from scratch using some On Board Chipboard Sheets and Comfort Cafe DSP.  The album pages are made from square envelopes (retired) using the 'stack the decks' method of construction. The Paris chipboard word on the front came from Imaginarium Designs (I think).

Here is the first page of the album.  The photo was our first selfie, taken while waiting to take off on the first flight of the trip.

The second page is looking a little bare, as it isn't finished yet.  The photo is double matted and then mounted on a medium envelope cut to make a pocket.  I'd like this album to be a joint production with my husband, so I have designed some journaling cards to go on each page.

I used the Comfort Cafe MDS Content Disc to design the tag in Photoshop. I also designed a 'she said' tag. Ultimately Rob and I will both journal our memories of each photo and I will print the tags and include them in the album.

I hope you've found some inspiration.  I will be back over the next month with more pages from the album as I complete them.  Can't wait to see what you come up with for the challenge over at Just Add Ink. Remember - there must be four or more photos, and you have until the 31st December to get your project linked!

Bye for now,

Tina
