CTC 378: Love, Thanks & Support

 Hi!

Hello, and thanks for finishing off your weekend with the CASEing The Catty Sunday Challenge Blog Hop. Isn't it a great way to end the week?

This week we have jumped back to the Annual Catalogue, and are asking you to CASE a card from the Love, Thanks & Support section, which runs from pages 56 to 77.

I started at the back of the section, and quickly found this beauty to CASE. I loved the soft colours of the flowers, and the DSP backing, all on a fresh, white card base. I don't own the stamp set, used, so I reached for my retired Bouquet Of Hope Paper Pumpkin stamp set, which has a lovely, big bouquet image.

I think that the style of the image is similar to that on the catalogue sample, don't you agree? I coloured it with my Blends from the Subtles colour family. I made the largest flowers Highland Heather, to coordinate with the paper from the retired Sweet Talk DSP.

I wanted the flowers to pop a little more from the background, so I layered them over a vellum heart. I cropped the vellum using the retired Stitched be Mine Dies.

The sentiments on the card are from Grace's Garden, which is a (you guessed it) retired stamp set. I've used a lot of retired stuff on my card, which I didn't realise until I was writing this post! It definitely makes sense to use your stash when CASEing - you don't always have to have the exact products.

Now it's your turn! Which project from the Love, Thanks & Support section will you CASE? Once you've made your card, all you need to do is add a photo to our Facebook group before next Sunday's blog hop. I can't wait to see what you make!

It's time now to jump on over to the next blog in our hop, which is the lovely Sandra Collett. I wonder which card she's CASEd?

Bye for now,

Tina

CTC #305: CASE The Sketch

 Hi!

Welcome back for the new CASEing The Catty Sunday Challenge Blog Hop. It's the end of quite a busy week for me, so it's a nice relaxing way to finish off the week, cruising around all the blogs to see what everyone made.

This week we are giving you a sketch to CASE, based on this super cute Darling Donkeys card. LOL, the rose in his mouth is very apt, as it's Valentine's Day today.
I must confess that I've cheated a little with my card today. I was meant to be in a 'Love' Blog Hop on Thursday night, but I got part way through the card and ran out of time, so I had to withdraw. I realised that it worked perfectly for the sketch, so I was already half done for CTC. Yay!

So instead of the three stripes, I have my row of hearts. It's such a fun die from the Stitched be Mine Dies. I had to hand place each of the hearts back into the outline, as they all fell out of the die and ended up in a jumble. It was worth the effort though, as just using the outline would have got a bit lost in the DSP, which is from the Berry Blessings SAB bundle.

Instead of using a rectangle over the top, I went for a series of layered circles, from both the Layering Circles Dies and the Stitched Shapes Dies. The text is from the Love You More Than Dies, and the strawberry is from the cute Sweet Strawberry Bundle.

The inside strawberries required quite a bit of masking. I'd only planned to mask off the leaves at the top, but I accidentally stamped the first two too close to each other, so I had to mask off the strawberry as well. Worth the extra effort though!

Our challenge is run though our Facebook group, so you don't need a blog to enter. Just snap a photo of your card based on the sketch and add it to the group before the deadline. Easy!

The hop continues on with the lovely Julia Quinn. Her card is gorgeous - you won't want to miss it!

Bye for now,

Tina

Colour Creations: Blushing Bride

Hi!

Thanks for joining me once again for the new Colour Creations Showcase. This week we are looking at the second Subtle on the alphabetical list of colours - Blushing Bride. It's a soft pink, that I'd describe as dusty pink. What about you?

I recently purchased the Be Mine Stitched Dies, mostly because they were the old style dies and were fairly heavily discounted. I don't make many hearts cards, but they are handy to have on the odd occasion that I really need them. Blushing Bride week seemed to be a good week to crack them open for the second time. The connected hearts die that I've used was the die that appeals to me most in the set. I cut it four times from Blushing Bride cardstock and then glued them together in a stack. I'd originally planned to sponge some Blushing Bride ink on Whisper White card and lay the hearts over the top, but at the last minute I changed my mind.

I used some gorgeous Frost White Shimmer Paint on a layer of Subtle embossed Blushing Bride card instead. It looks so pretty in real life, but is very hard to photograph! I used some Whisper White backed with an adhesive sheet to cut the word 'love' from the Well Written dies. There was a bit of card left over, so I cropped a few little hearts from the WW and inset them in the linked hearts.

I purposely let the inside without a sentiment, as it's a more versatile card that way. I cut the linked hearts once again from Blushing Bride, but this time I left the hearts intact. I already had a million of them left over from the front, and I liked the way that it looked with the hearts still in place.

That's all from me this week! Time now to pop on over to Catherine's blog to see what the rest of the team have got up with with Blushing Bride.

Bye for now,

Tina
