JAI 638: Just Choose Two

 Hi!

Welcome back to my blog for the new Just Add Ink challenge. I love Fridays and the new challenge! This week Di has challenged us to a Choose Two project.

The choices are Candles, Cake or Celebration. As soon as I saw this challenge, I knew the exact stamp I wanted to use - the 'CEL-E-BRATE' stamp I used for my background. It's from a retired Kindred Stamps set, called Time Traveller.

I stamped it down my card using my Stamparatus and the step-stamping technique. The celebrate die cut is from a retired Stampin' Up! die set, called Celebrate You. I was so excited about the 'celebrate' elements of my card, I nearly forgot to choose the second. A few candles, from Ink Road Stamp's Belated stamp set, fit the bill!

My robot (hopefully you can hear him saying celebrate in his particular voice!), is from another Kindred Stamps set, called It's About Time. I struggled with which colours to use on him, but finally settled on red and grey.

I decided to go with another villain from the series on the inside, despite this image not looking very villainous! She goes well with the sentiment, and both are from the Time Traveler set. I'm sure the someone who loves this fandom will love the card!

That's all from me for this week's challenge, but your job is just beginning! Jump on over to the Just Add Ink blog, where you'll find lots more inspiration from the Design Team. Then you can choose your two elements, and get stamping! Link your card over on the JAI blog when you're done.

Bye for now,

Tina

JAI 568: Just Add A Sketch

 Hi!

Hooray for Friday - right? It's been a long week, and I am more than ready for the weekend. I hope to spend a lot of time crafting, and I hope you do too, especially if it means that you enter our new challenge at Just Add Ink. This week it's a sketch, designed by Lou.

Isn't it great? I decided to use the sketch to make a birthday card for my husband, who celebrated his special day early in August.

I started the card with the Alcohol Ink background. I used my Night Of Navy and Rich Razzleberry Blends on Vellum. To move the ink around, I blew through a short straw. It was fun seeing how short, hard breaths versus long, gentle breaths gave different results with the ink. I flicked some Vegas Gold Shimmer Paint over the top when it was dry.

My hubby really loves the fandom this character comes from, and according to my daughter, this is one of his favourite characters. Do you know the show? The blue phone box might have given it away! I coloured them both with my Copic markers. The stamps are all from a Kindred Stamps set, called I Need Some Space.

I couldn't resist adding the little canine robot on the inside. I don't know if he's a part of the new fandom, or if he's strictly retro. Either way, he's fun and deserved a spot on my card. The sentiment is from a coordinating Kindred Stamps set, called It's About Time.

That's all from me for tonight, but your part in the challenge is just beginning! Pop on over to the Just Add Ink blog, where you'll find lots more Design Team inspiration. Then make your card and add it to our gallery. It's that easy!

Bye for now,

Tina
