Farewell Off The Grid

Hi!

Another sad farewell for another fabulous stamp today.  Off The Grid has been one of my absolute favourite stamps for adding a touch of interest to a background.

As well as farewelling Off The Grid I was playing with some new product that I got while at Convention.  We all got the Kinda Eclectic stamp set and I was lucky enough to win the new Sweetheart punch at a Prize Patrol.

I'm really loving the look of collage stamping, where you stamp a heap of different images over the top of each other.  On this card I've used Off The Grid, Gorgeous Grunge and Kinda Eclectic.  I was inspired by the card on page 164 of the new Annual Catalogue.

For all the grunginess on the outside, I went really for a really clean look on the inside.  I think it helps make the sentiment stand out more, which is really important when you are thanking someone for their kindness.

Bye for now,

Tina

Retro Fresh Butterflies

Hi!

Today I have a card for you that I made as a class sample in February.  I wanted to show that you could use the Retro Fresh range to make a feminine card.  I love the Retro Fresh colours, but they do tend to lean more on the masculine side.

Off The Grid and the Retro Fresh Washi Tape provide a lovely background for the layered butterfly.  The white space around the elements gives the card a clean, fresh feel.

I repeated a lot of the elements from the front of the card on the inside.  I always think it's a nice surprise to open a card that is stamped on the inside too.

I hope you're having a great start to the week.  It's the first week of school holidays here, so in amongst all of the activities I have planned for the kids I'm hoping to squeeze in some more stamping time.  I'm about two thirds of the way through my Paris album and I'd love to get it finished this holidays.

Bye for now,

Tina

CPC Challenge #31

Hi!

It's been a while since I entered a card challenge, so I thought it was time to do just that! The challenge is over at Craft Project Central and it's a lovely sketch challenge.

Isn't it a great sketch? Here's my take on it.

The washi tape is the new Retro Fresh designs from the Occasions Catalogue.  It's so lovely and bright, a great focal point for this card.

The Essentials Wooden Elements are also new in the Catalogue.  There are a heap of great shapes in the pack.  I just have to let myself use them rather than hoard them!

Of course I had to finish off the inside of the card to match the outside!

Stamps: Off The Grid, Teeny Tiny Sentiments, Make A Wish
Ink: Baked Brown Sugar, Tangerine Tango
Cardstock: Baked Brown Sugar, Whisper White
Other: Retro Fresh Designer Washi Tape, Essentials Wooden Elements, Star Punches (retired), Glue Dots

Bye for now,

Tina

JAI #188: Just Add Grunge

Hi!

Here we go again!

This week at Just Add Ink the lovely Paula has challenged us to add grunge to our projects. Great!  My Gorgeous Grunge stamp set has been getting a real workout lately.  Luckily I love it so much!

I also used another grungy type stamp - Off The Grid -  and paired it with an old favourite for male cards called The Open Sea.

The colour combination I used for the card was Soft Sky, Crumb Cake and Very Vanilla.  Lots of sponging on the card, but the end result is lovely.  Wait - can a grungy card be lovely?  I know what is lovely - the new Burlap Ribbon from the Holiday Catalogue.

There you go!  Will you play along at Just Add Ink this week?  Give grunge a go - it's lots of fun!

Bye for now,

Tina

JAI #179: Just Add A Sketch

Hi!

Friday once more, so another Just Add Ink challenge!

This week Mae has designed a sketch for us to use.  Interpret it how you'd like, but the sketch must be the inspiration for your card.

I chose to make a very literal interpretation of the sketch using some of my new goodies from the new Annual Catalogue.

This was my first play with Gorgeous Grunge, Off The Grid and Smoky Slate.  Love them all!

I cut the arrow shape from the Smoky Slate layer using a punchie for a template and then popped it up on Dimensionals to give it a better effect.

Some complimentary stamping on the inside.  The clock was originally meant for the front, but I felt it needed more than just the red hands.  I restamped one for the front that had the red body, but didn't want to waste the grey one, so I used it on the inside.

Stamps: Gorgeous Grunge, Off The Grid, Clockworks, Make A Wish, For My Family (retired)
Ink: Basic Black, Basic Grey, Smoky Slate, Real Red
Cardstock: Smoky Slate, Basic Grey
Other: Paper Snips, Dimensionals, Corner Rounder Punch, Fiskars Arrow Punch

What do you think you'll do with Mae's sketch?

Bye for now,

Tina
