The Sky Is The Limit When You're Going Places

Hi!

Today I have the second card for you from last week's card class. This time I have used another Sale-A-Bration stamp set, called Sky Is The Limit. What a fabulous set for male cards! If you love this set, make sure you get in quick - this is one of the three Limited Time Only sets that will only be available until the 15th February, when they will be replaced by another group of SAB products.

Anyway, on to the card! The card is actually a CASE of this card, made by Debra Simonis.

I CASEd Debra's card fairly closely, the only real changes are the colour of the base card, the addition of twine and the change in colour of the sentiment and the matt under the sentiment.

I really love the marbled DSP from the Going Places DSP stack. So much easier (and less messy) than making your own! The Very Vanilla Twine is simply the Metallic Baker's Twine with the metallic thread removed.

Debra didn't show the inside of her card, so I just winged it for mine.  I originally stamped the clouds over the top of the sentiment, but they looked really silly to me, so I just went for the corners in the end!

Bye for now,

Tina

JAI #284: Just Add A Fancy Fold

Hi!

Wow, it's been a week full of blog hops for me, and now I can finish up with my Just Add Ink card.

This week Di has challenged us to use a Fancy Fold in our creations.  I have been eyeing off these TeePee cards for yonks (a very long time for the non-Aussies!), so this was a great excuse to have a go.  They are so easy!!! I really don't know why I didn't try one sooner.

I have two great nephews who are turning one in the next couple of months so I decided to use this challenge to make a card for the first of the boys.

I really love this elephant stamp from Zoo Babies - in the bright Pacific Point it's a great option for those 'nearly a toddler' cards.

There's not a huge amount of space for writing on the card unless you use the inside, so the smaller sentiment from Endless Birthday Wishes was great.

Here's the card opened flat so you can see how it's put together.  I used 3 squares of cardstock cut to 4 1/8 inches and scored diagonally through the middle. The DSP is cut to 4 inches square and then cut on the diagonal, just slightly in from the middle on each side so you end up with a tiny strip that you toss out.  I cut the Whisper White cardstock the same way and then just rimmed off the bottom corner so it doesn't show when the card is closed.

To post you just open it flat and then fold it down the middle.  Easy!

The Design Team have done a fantastic job with this challenge.  You can see their Fancy Folds over on the Just Add Ink blog.  I hope to see yours there too!

Bye for now,

Tina

JAI #280: Just Add Glimmer

Hi!

What a fun challenge at Just Add Ink this week - to Just Add Glimmer to your projects!  Who doesn't love a bit of bling?

I decided to go for a CAS to try to make the Glimmer Paper the star of the card.  I love the new, thicker Whisper White cardstock for plain white card bases.

I used a pair of Labels Framelits from the Tags and Labels set to frame my sentiment.  I also used a few Old Olive sequins as a highlight, finished with a dot of Cherry Cobbler Dazzling Details.

I really love the holly stamp as a feature stamp on Christmas cards.

What glimmer will you add to your project this week? Why don't you pop on over to the Just Add Ink blog to see what the rest of the Design Team have done?

Bye for now,

Tina
