JAI #394: Just Add Romance

Hi!

Welcome back to a new Just Add Ink challenge. This week Nikki has challenged us to Just Add Romance. Perfect timing, with Valentine's just around the corner!

Having said that, Rob and I don't usually make a big deal of Valentine's Day. Some years I make him a card, other years I don't. This year I received some new stamps that suit him perfectly, so it's definitely a year where he'll be getting a card LOL.

So you've probably guessed that these aren't Stampin' Up! stamps. I don't usually buy anything from other companies, but I couldn't go past these Back To The Future inspired stamps - Rob is a huge fan, and so are the kids.

I stamped the Delorean in Memento ink and coloured it with a mix of Copic grey, yellow and pale blue markers. I deliberately left the rest of the card simple, so that the focus was on the car. I couldn't resist adding the little '88' banner though!

Are you a BTTF fan? Would your significant other love a card like this? I hope mine does!

As always, you can join in the fun over at the Just Add Ink blog. Check out what the rest of the Design Team have created, and link up your card for our Just Add Romance challenge.

Bye for now,

JAI #374: Just Add Inspiration

Hi!

Here I am, back with another card!

This week we have an Inspiration Challenge at Just Add Ink. Jan found the picture for us, and it's a different one - no flowers! It's a great one for a male card, or even a 'let's catch up for a cuppa' card. Does anyone send those? LOL

When I looked at the picture, I straight away thought of Text Ya Later and Coffee Break DSP, so using the KISS principle, that's what I used!

I really like the coffee ring pattern, but I'd been yet to find a reason to use it on a project. I thought that this one was perfect! I added some coffee pots and mugs, just to tie in the coffee mug in the Inspiration Photo.

I punched the circle from vellum, and then sponged around it with Early Espresso ink, just so that it kind of mimics the look of the coffee rings on the DSP.

I always laugh at this pair of sentiments, but I do acknowledge that not everyone would. The person I have in mind for this card would probably laugh too, so I'm sure they will be OK.

What will you create this week? The Design Team have made a stunning range of cards, as usual. You can see them over at Just Add Ink, where you can also link your card for the challenge.

AWH HOC Week 11

Hi!

I hope you're not tired of the Christmas inspiration just yet - there's still a lot of weeks to go before Christmas, but it will be upon us before we know it!

I got a little silly with this week's card. I'm waiting not so patiently for my Holiday Catalogue preorder to arrive, and I've used my other Christmas themed sets a lot, so I decided to try something different this week.

What do you think? A bit silly, but still a Christmas card! I usually only get to spend every second Christmas with my side of the family, so often the day starts with texts back and forth until later in the day when we can speak to each other.

Did you notice the new Basic Black shimmer ribbon in the background? It is soooo lovely!

Apologies for the not-so-great photos of my card this week - I've been doing a lot of purging and rearranging at home, and I still haven't found a permanent home for my photo booth. That job is top of the list for next week!

As usual, you can see the list of who has made a card this week over at Claire's blog. There's usually around 10 of us, so lots of Christmas inspiration. Just wait 'til next week, when we all have our preorders to play with!

Bye for now,

Tina

JAI #367: Just Add Colour

Hi!

This week at Just Add Ink Patrice has set the challenge for us, and it's a colour challenge. Lots of lovely neutrals with a fabulous pop of lemon lime.

This one was a tricky combo I think! It's good to get the old brain matter working a bit harder sometimes though. I needed to make a card for Ada to give to a friend who was turning 13, so I decided to crack open my new Text Ya Later stamp set, which I think is perfect for teen cards.

I love the text stamps in this set. I knew the birthday girl would get a real giggle out of the 'crappiest of birthdays to you' stamp.

I also love that the set includes some of the commonly used emojis. I've only recently started using them in my texts, and they are a lot of fun.

What will you do with these colours? If you get your thinking cap on, I'm sure you'll have as fun a time with them as I did! Check out the Just Add Ink blog to see what the rest of the Design Team created.

Bye for now,

Tina
