CTC 466: Favourite Mini Catalogue Project

 Hi!

Welcome to the new CASEing The Catty Sunday Challenge Blog Hop. Sadly, this is my final blog hop as a member of the CTC Crew - I have decided to step down from the team as lately I have been unable to devote my energy to the team as much as I have in the past. The good news is that the Crew is on the hunt for some new Crew members, so you will begin to see some fresh, new faces on the hops soon.

On to the challenge! This week we are asking you to CASE your favourite project from the current Mini Catalogue. I'm a sucker for a stripes/floral DSP combo, so this card from page 46 caught my eye.

I love the way that the top section is stamped in coordinating ink, and then stamped and heat embossed over the top. I didn't end up stamping my background, I used two pieces of DSP instead.

The Lighter Than Air DSP is so pretty! I kept the stripes on the bottom, but chose the diamonds to go on top. A strip of Lemon Lolly cardstock covers the join, and provides a base for the sentiment, from In The Moment.

I cropped the hot air balloon from another piece of the DSP, and then popped it up over a partial Everyday Details circle cropped from vellum. It helps make the balloon stand out from the background DSP.

I left the inside sentiment free, as the front sentiment is quite versatile for a few different situations. A leftover strip of DSP and cardstock was all that was needed.

We'd love for you to play along with us this week. Just make a card that CASEs your favourite project from the Mini Catalogue, take a photo and upload it to our Facebook Group.

The next stop along the way is my lovely friend, Kathryn Mangelsdorf. She's made an absolute stunner that you won't want to miss!

One final thank you to Bec and the Crew for having me as part of their wonderful team for the past 5 years. I've had a blast, and have loved getting to know the Crew members better.

Bye for now,

Tina

CTC 459: Perennial Lavender Section

 Hi!

It's been a while for me, but here we are again with the new CASEing The Catty Sunday Challenge Blog Hop. Is it just me, or are Sunday evenings rolling around so much ore quickly these days?

This week we are asking you to CASE the Perennial Lavender section of the current Mini Catalogue. It's a pretty suite, but I don't have any of it except for the butterflies, so I had to think a little about what I was going to make.

This sweet butterfly card caught my eye. I loved the all over DSP background, and the butterfly layered over both a vellum and a cardstock label.

I chose to use my Lighter Than Air suite products, especially the DSP. I fussy cut the hot air balloons from the paper to pop up over my labels and that delightful spotty paper.

I used my Everyday Details die for the labels - circles instead of rectangles from the original. Hello is from Biggest Wish, and is highlighted with a bow from Lemon Lolly Baker's Twine. A trio of Rainbow Dots finishes off the front of the card.

These two partial balloons are from the top corner of the sheet of DSP. I don't like letting them go to waste, and they sit perfectly at the top of the inside of the card.

That's all from me, but now your part of the challenge begins. Find a card from the Perennial Lavender suite to CASE, make the card and then post a photo into our Facebook Group. Easy!

If you started the Blog Hop in our Facebook Group, I'm the last stop. If you joined us part way through, keep on going until you get back to where you started. The next stop is the lovely Julia Quinn.

Bye for now,

Tina

Colour Creations: Pool Party

 Hi!

Welcome to Pool Party week of the Colour Creations Blog Hop. It's a lovely soft blue-green colour that I quite like. Much better than Petal Pink! I recently purchased the Lighter Than Air DSP and Everyday Details Dies, so I was keen to use them on my card.

I love the way that the detail from the die frames the art panel. The large spots are fabulous! I cropped the Lighter Than Air DSP in such a way that I could feature the Pool Party  hot air balloon in the centre of the frame. It looked a bit plain, so I cropped the same balloon from a second sheet and popped it up over the top.

I tried to double cut some cardstock using the dies for the sentiment panel, but I couldn't quite get it to work. Nested Essentials Dies to the rescue! A left over scrap of shimmery ribbon and a Rainbow Dot finished off the front of the card.

I used a left over strip of the DSP to decorate the inside of the card. The sentiments that I've used are from the Timeless Greetings kit. Don't forget those kit stamp sets!

Please keep making your way around our hop tonight until you get back to your starting point. The next stop along the way is my lovely friend, Kate Morgan. I can't wait to see what she's made.

If you run into any problems with links, just pop on over the the wonderful Cathy Proctor's blog. She will have a list of all of tonight's participants to help get you back on track.

Bye for now,

Tina
