A CASE of a CASE

Hi!

Today's card features a few retiring products.  Is is based on a card I CASED a few months ago from Judy May.  You can see Judy's original card here, and my first CASE here.  I love this card for the males in our lives.  The colour scheme and textures are just great.

So on the outside the retiring products are the Large Star punch and the Celebrations DSP.  The star punch has already sold out, but you can still get your hands on the Celebrations DSP if you're quick!  The Brushed Silver cardstock is being reconfigured.  Currently you can only purchase it in the Brushed Metallics pack, but come September 1st you'll be able to purchase it in a pack of it's own.

On the inside I have used the Classic Stars Jumbo wheel which is also retiring at the end of the month.  Get in quick!

Stamps: Classic Stars Jumbo Wheel (retiring), A Word For You
Ink: Pacific Point, Real Red
DSP/Cardstock: Celebrations DSP, Brushed Silver, Pacific Point, Real Red, Whisper White
Other: Big Shot, Timeless Type Alphabet Die, Perfect Polka Dots Textured Impressions Embossing Folder, Large Star Punch (retiring), Silver Brads

CASED Card

Hi!

Today's card was made way back when Sale-A-Bration was going strong.  I CASED it from the very talented Judy May, who I was finally able to meet in person at Convention recently.

I loved Judy's card so much I CASED it almost exactly!  It was my first go using the Silver Brushed Metallic Cardstock, which is just gorgeous.

It's such a fantastic design for a boy's card.  Judy is a very talented and inspiring card maker.

Stamps: Punch Bunch (2011 SAB), Classic Stars Jumbo Wheel
Ink: Real Red
DSP/Cardstock: Celebration DSP, Sliver Brushed Metallic, Real Red, Pacific Point, Whisper White
Other: Big Shot, Polka Dots Embossing Folder, Silver Brads, Paper Snips, Scallop Square Punch, Dimensionals

Elegant Soiree Male Birthday Card

Hi!

A quick post today.  This was a birthday card I made last month for a male friend using Elegant Soiree DSP.  I love the colours in this DSP - they are as equally suitable for a female as a male.

I used the Classic Stars jumbo wheel for the stars on the front.  I rolled the wheel on Very Vanilla cardstock and then cut out the individual stars.  A star brad from the Pretties Kit and a sentiment and it's done!

Stamps: Classic Stars Jumbo Wheel, Happy Moments (2010 SAB)
Ink: Baja Breeze
DSP/Cardstock: Elegant Soiree DSP, Basic Grey, Very Vanilla, Baja Breeze
Other: Paper Snips, Word Window L punch, Star Brad (Pretties Kit)

Pun Fun You're A Blast

Hi!

I'm back with another male card.  This time I went with the sketch at Unscripted Sketches.  They are doing a Breast Cancer Awareness Blog Hop this week as well as their challenge, so why not pop on over and have a look?  Here's their sketch this week:

Here's the card I came up with, once again using the bright and cheerful Celebrations DSP.

I love the combination of spots and stripes in the DSP!

Stamps: Pun Fun, Classic Stars Jumbo Wheel
Ink: Real Red
DSP/Card Stock: Celebrations DSP, Real Red, Pacific Point, Whisper White
Other: Paper Snips, Real Red Brad

Catch you later - hopefully on our mini blog hop tomorrow!

Pin The Tail On The Donkey

Hi!

I completed this layout last night for an Art With Heart team challenge. The photos were taken when we caught up with family for Ada's birthday. We all played Pin the Tail on the Donkey. I used 4 photos of the children in the family playing.

The journalling reads: Ada's 5th Birthday at Lady Bay. Anna organised some party games. Ada was the first to have a turn at Pin the Tail on the Donkey. When she got it spot on we asked her how she did it. "It had a hole" she said. We changed the mask!

Aren't children honest!

I used Washington Apple DSP. I love the colours in the paper and will be very sad when it retires but I'm sure it will be replaced by something just as wonderful.

I matted some of the letters in the title and then used faux stitching with my gel pen to tie it all together.

Well, I hope you like my layout. It took me all night to do, but it was lots of fun to put together!

Stamps: Classic Stars Jumbo Wheel
Ink: Pumpkin Pie
DSP/Card Stock: Washington Apple DSP, Pumpkin Pie, Riding Hood Red, Bashful Blue, Whisper White
Other: Paper Snips, Big Shot, Timeless Type Alphabet Die, Corner Rounder Punch, Scallop Border Punch, White Gel Pen, Circle Cutter, Ruler

A Starry Urban Garden

Hi!

I'm back with a card I made for a friend's birthday a couple of weeks ago. I find it hard to make male cards, but I think this one turned out nicely. It was very hard to stop myself reaching for some ribbon to add to the card!

A quick and easy card that I think looks quite effective.

Stamps: Classic Stars Jumbo Wheel
Ink: Not Quite Navy
Card Stock/DSP: Urban Garden DSP, Kraft
Other: Paper Snips, Chit Chat Rub Ons (retired)

Classic Stars Birthday Card

Hi!

My daughter went to a birthday party recently. Actually, she goes to lots of birthday parties - she's a very social butterfly! This latest one was for a boy who was turning 5. I think this is a difficult age for us poor card makers - too old for baby stuff and way too young for teenage stuff. There's just not a whole lot of options for those in-between years.

That's why I love my Classic Stars Jumbo Wheel. It provides a great background that you could use on a card for any age group. Here's the card I came up with:

This was a quick and easy card to put together. The hardest part was waiting for the Crystal Effects on the number 5 to dry!

Stamps: Classic Stars Jumbo Wheel, Cute and Curly, Happy Moments (retired SAB)
Ink: So Saffron, Ballet Blue
DSP/Card Stock: So Saffron Patterns DSP, Ballet Blue, Whisper White
Other: Crystal Effects, Dimensionals, Curly Label Punch, Big Shot, Top Note Die, Stamp-a-ma-jig, Sponge Dauber, Chipboard Number 5 (non SU).

Classic Stars Birthday Card

Hi!

We are off to a birthday party today for a very special little boy who is turning 1. Isaac goes to a playgroup with my son, run by a wonderful organisation that helps special children reach their potential.

Here is the card I made for him:

I wanted to use a bit of symbolism in this card. I used stars to remind Isaac that he can reach for the stars, and the lion to give him the courage to do so. The symbolism is probably a bit lost on a 1 year old, but it's there anyway.

Card Stock: Pacific Point, Real Red, Whisper White
Stamps: Fox and Friends (new), Classic Stars Jumbo Wheel
Ink: Versamark, Ruby Red
Other: Big Shot, Top Note Die, Timeless Type Junior Alphabet Die, Dimensionals

Catch you later - we're off to party like a 1 year old!
