25 And Counting Christmas Card

Hi!

I had a party today where I demonstrated some Christmas cards to the lovely ladies present.  It reminded me that I had a Christmas card in my 'To Blog' file that I hadn't shown you yet.

This card is a bit of a mix of old and new.  I used the old Letters To Santa DSP, and also the retired stamp set Season of Joy.  The new is a brand new stamp set from the Annual Catalogue called 25 And Counting.  It's the perfect set for Advent Calendar type projects, but I thought the lovely 25 image worked beautifully as a tag on my card.

Some lovely, simple stamping on the inside - lots of space for writing a Christmas message to your recipient!

Festive Friday #30

Hi!

Who's ready for another round of Festive Friday goodness?  Me!  This week Nicole has designed a cute sketch to use on our cards.  It's a very versatile sketch, with lots of room for playing.

I changed the sketch from rectangle to square for my card, which is a cute little 4 1/4" size.

Love, love, love Dasher for Christmas cards.  He's been a bit neglected lately, so it was way past time for him to see some ink.

More of the gorgeous Letters To Santa DSP on the inside.  I'm not worried about not much room for writing in my card, as I usually send out a newsletter with my cards.

Festive Friday #26

Hi!

How are you going on your Christmas card stash?  How about a colour combination to inspire you to make some more?  Nicole has challenged us to make a card using these gorgeous colours.

They aren't colours that immediately scream "Christmas", but I guess that's sometimes a good thing!  Here's my card.

I decided to focus on the browns and create a natural looking Christmas card.  Isn't this tree from Lovely As A Tree perfect as a Christmas tree?  After I stamped it I added some Dazzling Diamonds to the image using my Two-Way Glue Pen.  It adds a lovely shimmer that I hoped looked a little like snow.  Here's a closer look.

Hmm, a bit hard to capture the shimmer in a photo!

Nice and simple stamping on the inside to finish off the card.

Festive Friday #24

Hi!

Doing a happy dance today because it's FRIDAY!!!! One more week of school and then it's the holidays!  Yes, I'm one of those mums that love school holidays.  I love the slower pace and the lack of 'places to be'.  Just a wonderful chance to chill and recharge. And hopefully get lots of stamping time.  Speaking of which, it's Festive Friday time!

This week Nicole has challenged us to use fabric on our cards.  This one really had me stumped for a while - I guess that's why it's a challenge!  Here's the card I eventually came up with, and I think it was worth the wait.  I love it!

I used my Big Shot and Perfect Pennants Die to cut 4 doilies out of Deck The Halls Designer Fabric.  I then folded each doily in quarters and adhered them to a circle punched from a Multipurpose Adhesive Sheet.  An Antique Brad finishes off the embellishment quite nicely.

I embossed the base of my card with the new Adorning Accents embossing folder and then used my Simply Scored tool to score vertical lines from the embossed line to the bottom of the card.  Love the Classy touch this adds.

Some nice and simple stamping to finish off the inside of the card.  I'm loving having so many of my Christmas cards made already.  It will certainly avoid the November panic to get them done!  Join in with us each week at Festive Friday and you too can avoid that rush to get your cards made.  Don't forget that the challenge this week is to add fabric to your card.

Festive Friday #18: Christmas Cards

Hi!

 This week at Festive Friday Challenges Nicole has a fantastic colour combination to inspire us.

Isn't it a yummy combination?  A bit different to the traditional colours of Christmas, but it had me thinking of gingerbread and reindeer! Here's my Design team card for the challenge.

I inked up Dasher in Crumb Cake ink and then used my Early Espresso Marker to colour the antlers.  Poor Dasher was a little dusty - it was nice for him to see ink again!

Just a simple inside for this one - lots of room for writing a special Christmas message.

Festive Friday #8

Hi!

Here we are - up to the eighth Festive Friday Challenge.  Wow!  Today I have a very Clean and Simple card for you. It was inspired by this card.

This was an easy card to make.  I just used Post-It notes to mask off the section I didn't want to stamp and sponge in, and then away I went!  Once again the inside was done to complement the outside.

Season of Joy CASE

Hi!

I'm back into the Christmas card mode today!  The card I made was inspired by a card designed by Melinda Rowe.  I saw her card on a Stampin' Up! Demonstrators only forum and I can't find her in the blogging world, so I can't link to her original card.

Anyway, here's my card:

Very simple, but very effective.  I've used one of the FREE Mistletoe Ribbons across the middle of the card.  Gotta love a freebie!  The Christmas tree has been cut out and popped up on some dimensionals.

Bird On A Branch

Hi!

Last night I decided to have a go at the current challenge at Stampin' Royalty. I quite liked the colour combination they came up with for the challenge:



Isn't it a pretty combination? Here's the card I came up with:



It took a bit of playing around and fiddling before I was happy with the placement of the elements on this card, but in the end I was pleased with the result. I distressed all the edges and added faux stitching around the panels. I also distressed the Cottage Wall DSP.
