Colour Creations: Blackberry Bliss

 Hi!

Welcome back to this week's Colour Creations Blog Hop. This week we are focussed on Blackberry Bliss. It's a gorgeous, deep purple that has a tendency to get messy. Many times I have come away from a stamping session with the colour, only to have Blackberry Bliss stained fingers! It's the only colour that it seems to happen with, though.

I had the idea to do some crisp, white daisies with a Blackberry Bliss background. The DSP is from the Dandy Garden pack. I knew I wanted to wrap the ribbon around the piece, so I adhered it to some Blackberry Bliss cardstock before cropping it with the scalloped Basic Borders Die. This just gives the card some strength to hold the ribbon in place.

The daisies are three layers each of Whisper White card, sponged with Blackberry ink in the middle, and with a centre of Basic Black card dotted with a white gel pen. The leaves are from the Pierced Blooms Dies, and the sentiment from Pretty Perennials.

All the same supplies and techniques were used on the inside of my card. I had planned to use the DSP offcut from the front, but it looked a little strange so I just trimmed the edge straight. Much better!

That's all from me for this week's Colour Creations, but please do continue your way around the Blog Hop. The next blog to visit is Theresa Gerrard's. CTC 324: CASE A Retiring Mini Project

 Hi!

Thanks for joining me for the new CASEing The Catty Sunday Challenge Blog Hop. This is the last week that products from the January-June Mini Catalogue will be available, so of course we are doing one last hurrah from the Mini.

In deciding which card to CASE, I thought about which stamp set was at the top of my 'must-have' list when the catalogue was released. The stamp set was Pretty Perennials, and as it didn't make the cut into the new Annual Catalogue, I thought it was fitting to give the set one last outing.

I thought that this card in the catalogue was sooo pretty, so it was my choice of card to CASE. I don't usually CASE a card exactly, but in this instance I couldn't resist - why change perfection?

scissorspapercard, Stampin' Up!, CASEing The Catty, Pretty Perennials, Joy To The World Paper Pumpkin, Painted Labels Dies

To create my stamped background, I started with half of a sheet of Whisper White A4 cardstock. I stamped the images across about 2/3rds of it, so that when I trimmed it down for the front and inside of my card I had stamping on both pieces. I hope that makes sense!

scissorspapercard, Stampin' Up!, CASEing The Catty, Pretty Perennials, Joy To The World Paper Pumpkin, Painted Labels Dies

It's very difficult to photograph, especially as the day I took the photo was very gloomy, but I had a happy accident when flicking ink over the card. I used an Aqua Painter that I must not have cleaned well last time I used it, as the Pool Party ink came out shimmery! I must have used Shimmer Paint last time. It was a very happy accident!

Here you can see the other half of the half-A4 sheet that I stamped in one go. It really does make things easier!

How will you choose a project from the Mini Catalogue to CASE? A favourite stamp set, like me, or maybe just a project that catches your eye? Either way, we'd love to see it, so please join our Facebook group and post your photo there. Can't wait to see it!

Before you go and get inky, please do finish our Blog Hop. Next in the line up is the lovely Peta, with an absolutely stunning card! You won't want to miss it!

Bye for now,

Tina

JAI 560: Just Add Colour

 Hi!

Brrr! Is it cold where you are? We had a severe weather warning here today for wind and rain - the perfect day to be rugged up inside crafting for the new Just Add Ink challenge! This week Jo has put together a gorgeous colour combo for us to play with.

The day I made my card I just received the new Tailor Made Tags Dies from Stampin' Up!. I couldn't resist playing with them straight away.

scissorspapercard, Stampin' Up!, Uniquely Creative, Just Add Ink, Sweet Sentiments Builder, Tailor Made Tags Dies, Stitched Rectangles Dies, Tasteful Textile 3DEF

I started by cropping my cardstock using the second smallest tag die. I also cropped the little do-dad at the top from Silver Foil, to match the Silver Foil card base. I can't think of what that bit is called - a reinforcer, maybe? Some black BAker's Twine was threaded through the holes and trimmed off.

scissorspapercard, Stampin' Up!, Uniquely Creative, Just Add Ink, Sweet Sentiments Builder, Tailor Made Tags Dies, Stitched Rectangles Dies, Tasteful Textile 3DEF

It's tricky to see, but the Whisper White Stitched Rectangle layer is also embossed using the Tasteful Textile 3D Embossing Folder. It's a new purchase, too, and I quite like it - it dulls the pain of losing Subtle just a little. LOL! The sentiment is a mix of dies and stamps from Uniquely Creative, called Sweet Sentiments.

I used the same stamps on the inside of my card. I wasn't sure how to incorporate the tags into the inside, so I didn't even try!

That's all from me for now, but please do pop on over to the Just Add Ink blog, where you can find the rest of this week's Design team cards. You can also add you card to our link for this challenge. What will you do with the colours?

Colour Creations: Bermuda Bay

 Hi!

Thanks for joining me for the new Colour Creations Blog Hop. This week we are looking at Bermuda Bay, a gorgeous blue/green that sits in the Bright colour family. Although it's a colour that I love, I don't use it a lot. I wonder why?

scissorspapercard, Stampin' Up!, Colour Creations, Hannes-Penned Petals, Blossoms In Bloom, Penned Flowers Dies

I recently purchased the Hand-Penned bundle, but hadn't had a chance to play with it yet. This was a great excuse! I started by stamping the main floral image all over my Bermuda Bay card base in coordinating ink. I then stamped it again on my main panel, but I also stamped the flower filler stamps before layering the white die cut over the top.

scissorspapercard, Stampin' Up!, Colour Creations, Hannes-Penned Petals, Blossoms In Bloom, Penned Flowers Dies

A get well sentiment from Blossoms In Bloom and a few Rhinestones and the front was finished. I stamped the sentiment onto a conveniently sized scrap of Whisper White and snipped either end with my scissors.

I also stamped the flowers again on the inside. This time, however, I stamped off the filler stamps before stamping them on my card. I like the softer colour this provides.

That's all from me tonight - short and sweet! I've been busy with Hudson, who is home sick with a cold. He laughs his little head off each time he sneezes (which is a lot!), because he knows it means I'll come running with a tissue. Funny little guy!

Please jump on over to Vicki's blog to continue on with the Blog Hop.

CTC 323: CASE A Card Featuring Food

 Hi!

Hooray, it's time for the new CASEing The Catty Sunday Challenge Blog Hop. It's such a great way to end the weekend!

This week we are asking you to CASE any card that features food on it. There are lots of different options - fruits, berries, ice creams, biscuits, and cooking utensils, to name a few. Flipping through my Annual Catalogue for inspiration, I found this card made with the Sweet Strawberry bundle.

I liked how the leaves and flowers behind the strawberries were stamped directly on the DSP, and how they cascade down the front of the card. However, instead of strawberries, I chose to go with peaches and used the Sweet As A Peach bundle.

scissorspapercard, Stampin' Up!, CASEing The Catty, Sweet As A Peach, Peach Dies, You're A Peach DSP

I started with the Pear Pizzazz DSP from the coordinating You're A Peach DSP. The leaves from the stamp set were stamped from the top right corner, down towards the bottom left. Although the stamp has blank spots where the peaches or flowers are meant to be stamped, I ignored this and just stamped the leaves a heap of times. I then stamped the flowers and peaches separately and adhered them over the top

scissorspapercard, Stampin' Up!, CASEing The Catty, Sweet As A Peach, Peach Dies, You're A Peach DSP

Some where popped up, others adhered flat to the DSP. I also cropped some leaves for the peaches from a scrap of the DSP and added them to the card. The finishing touch were a few Bumblebee Enamel Dots.

scissorspapercard, Stampin' Up!, CASEing The Catty, Sweet As A Peach, Peach Dies, You're A Peach DSP

I kept the stamping much more simple on the inside - just the one set of leaves and flowers. I don't think it needed more than that.

That's my card for this week's challenge - what will you make? You can enter our challenge by posting a photo of your card in our Facebook group.

Before you race off to get inky, please do finish our blog hop! Next up is the lovely Sandra, with her super-cute card.

JAI 559: Just Choose Two

 Hi!

Thanks for joining me once again for the new Just Add Ink challenge. This week, Di has challenged us to Choose Two to add to our cards, the choices being Stitching, Stripes or Paper Strips.

I'm a sucker for a stitched die, so the stitching part of the decision was a no-brainer. Hmm, then to pick stripes or paper strips?

scissorspapercard, Stampin' Up!, Kindred Stamps, Sweet Stamp Shop, Just Add Ink, TV Time Die, Spoiler Alert, Pleased As Punch DSP, Galactic Adventures The Third, The One With The Friend

The stripes were an obvious choice after choosing to use this retro TV die from Kindred Stamps as a feature. Does the paper remind you a bit of the old test patterns? Or are you too young to remember those, back when TV stations didn't air programs 24 hours a day.

scissorspapercard, Stampin' Up!, Kindred Stamps, Sweet Stamp Shop, Just Add Ink, TV Time Die, Spoiler Alert, Pleased As Punch DSP, Galactic Adventures The Third, The One With The Friend

I cropped the TV from Silver Foil paper, with the accent pieces in Basic Black. The DSP is from last year's Sale-A-Bration, called Pleased As Punch. The 'spoiler alert' sentiment is from a Sweet Stamp Shop set. The company no longer exists, so I can't find out the name of the stamp set, unfortunately.

scissorspapercard, Stampin' Up!, Kindred Stamps, Sweet Stamp Shop, Just Add Ink, TV Time Die, Spoiler Alert, Pleased As Punch DSP, Galactic Adventures The Third, The One With The Friend

The inside sentiment is from two different Kindred Stamps sets, called The One With The Friend and Galactic Adventures The Third. This card is going to someone who watches a lot of TV/Movies and will get a laugh from the getting old bit. That's one of the things I love about making cards- the ability to make the perfect card for a loved one.

That's all from me for now, but please do pop on over to the Just Add Ink blog, where you'll find the rest of this week's Design Team cards. You'll also find our linky, where you can enter your card in our challenge. Which two will you choose?

Tina

Colour Creations: Basic Grey

 Hi!

Welcome to this week's Colour Creations Blog Hop. We are showcasing Basic Grey this time around. It's a dark grey from the Neutrals colour family that has been in the colour line-up a very long time.

scissorspapercard, Stampin' Up!, Colour Creations, Neutrals DSP, Suit & Tie Dies, Biggest Wish, A Good Man

I decided to stick with Clean And Simple for my card, which uses the Suit & Tie Dies alongside the Biggest Wish stamp set. I cropped the three ties from my Neutrals DSP, after first adhering it to a layer of Basic Grey cardstock. This just gives the DSP extra strength so it won't sag when popped up on Dimensionals.

scissorspapercard, Stampin' Up!, Colour Creations, Neutrals DSP, Suit & Tie Dies, Biggest Wish, A Good Man

I made sure that when I cropped the knot part of the tie, I altered the angle of the DSP. This is most obvious in the striped tie. It gives a more realistic look to the knot.

scissorspapercard, Stampin' Up!, Colour Creations, Neutrals DSP, Suit & Tie Dies, Biggest Wish, A Good Man

One final tie was cropped for the inside of my card, along with a sentiment from A Good Man.

Thanks for joining me tonight, please do continue on with the Blog Hop though. Next up is Rachel Woollard, with her gorgeous Basic Grey card.
