Hi!
Today's card uses a stamp set that has already retired out of the Autumn Winter Mini catalogue and a DSP pack that you only have until the end of the month to purchase, that is if stocks last that long! The card was for my upline and good friend Sue's birthday last month.
I LOVED the Sew Suite stamp set and was pretty devastated when it didn't make the new catalogue. However, there is SOOOOO much fabulous new stuff in the catalogue that I soon forgot my disappointment. For this card I wanted a vintage look, so I used the Love Letter DSP and spritzed the main panel with Basic Black ink. The sentiment was enclosed in a bookplate from the Hodgepodge Hardware set - also retiring at the end of the month!
Stamps: Sew Suite (retired), Clearly For You
Ink: Basic Black
DSP/Cardstock: Love Letter DSP (retiring), Very Vanilla
Other: Paper Snips, Dimensionals, Colour Spritzer, Hodgepodge Hardware (retiring)

Tina

Designer Series Paper Blog Hop
Hi!
Welcome to our blog hop. A small group of Stampin' Up! Demonstrators are hosting a blog hop to showcase some of the gorgeous Designer Series Paper we sell. I'm sure you'll be very inspired by the projects you see as you hop around all the blogs. There are 7 blogs on the hop, with the blog before mine being the very creative Di Dunk.
For my project I decided to scrap a layout inspired not only by the DSP I have in my stash, but also by some song lyrics. Last week at playgroup we sang "You Are My Sunshine" with the children. I got a bit teary remembering that it was the very first song I sang to my eldest child Alex just after he was born. It was one of those moments where nothing else existed, just him and me and the song. A very special moment.
The layout took me AGES, but I was really please with how it came together. I started with Basic Grey 12x12 cardstock and built up from there. The hills were cut from the Woodland Walk and Greenhouse Gala DSP packs. I hand drew a line just inside each of the elements to give them some definition and also to give a bit of a whimsical look.
I hand drew the clouds on a piece of Basic Grey Patterns Stack DSP and then cut around each one. I drew some in each direction for a bit of interest. Each cloud is popped up on some Dimensionals and I used some Basic Jewel Rhinestones to represent the rain. The sun uses Greenhouse Gala DSP. I had a lot of thin scraps of the Daffodil Delight pattern, so it was great to use them up as the rays of the sun.
For the house I used Love Letter DSP and my scallop edge punch to make the roof. I just punched a heap of thin strips and adhered them to a piece of cardstock cut to shape of the roof overlapping each layer. The flowers in the flower box were punched with the smallest flower in the Boho Blossoms punch. I drew around them too and added a black centre. The middle flower is popped up on a Dimensional.
The apple tree is just a whole heap of punched circles of different sizes using the Woodland Walk, Greenhouse Gala and Love Letter DSP packs. The tree trunk was hand drawn and cut from the Woodland Walk DSP.
Phew! I think that's all the relevant details about how I completed my layout. Now you're off to see what the wonderful Margaret Knoops has created to inspire you.

One Of A Kind
Hi!
I was searching through some older photos and came across a few cards I haven't blogged yet. This card I made for my sister for her birthday way back in March. Sorry for the not so great photos, I think I was still using my old camera.
The card uses some rub ons for the image and sentiment - no stamping on this card! The rub ons are long retired, but they are so pretty I couldn't leave them sitting on the shelf.
I cut the Top Note shape and then cut on oval out of the middle to create a frame for the main image. A few rhinestones around the bottom of the frame to bling it up a little.
DSP/Cardstock: Love Letter DSP, Basic Black, Riding Hood Red, Very Vanilla
Other: Big Shot, Top Note Die, Rhinestones, Dimensionals, Rub Ons (I can't remember the name!)

Layout 20: Cockington Green
Hi!
Today's layout is one I made as a sample for a scrapbooking class I am teaching soon. I wanted a simple layout that beginners would fell comfortable with, but that could be easily ramped up a bit for more experienced or confident scrappers. I used Love Letter DSP for the layout.
I cut a 9 inch square out of the centre of the Riding Hood Red sheet of DSP and then tore around the opening. I cut each of my photos to about 4 inches square, matted then in Very Vanilla and then mounted them on a square of Basic Black Love Letter DSP. This piece was then adhered to the back of the Riding Hood Red DSP.
A bit of ribbon and some Hodgepodge Hardware and the layout is almost done. I included the tickets from the train ride as a feature item. Unusually for me, this layout does not include a title or journalling. I thought the tickets and photos told the story without the need for further information.
DSP/Cardstock: Love Letter DSP, Very Vanilla, Basic Black
Other: 1/4" Very Vanilla Grosgrain ribbon, Two Step Bird XL punch, Flower Ribbon Slide and Raised Dots Designer Label holder (Hodgepodge Hardware)

Layout 15: Jean & Keith
Hi!
Back again with some more Sale-A Bration inspiration - this time some scrapbooking. I have used the Bliss set again, but this time I have used the adorable little flower image. My layout is about my paternal grandparents.
Love the Basic Black and Very Vanilla with a few splashes of Riding Hood Red!
I'm not sure when a lot of these photos were taken, they were chosen as I loved each photo. My Grandma looks like a movie star and my Grandfather fought in the RAAF during WW2.
It was a bit hard to juggle the odd sized photos. I would have preferred to arrange them in a more chronological manner, but I just couldn't get it to look right on the DSP. I finally settled for what you see.
I couldn't believe it when I placed the stamped and fussy cut Bliss flower images amongst the flourish on the Love Letter DSP. The flowers in each are a perfect match! It was a very happy coincidence as I had chosen the DSP and stamp set without noticing they were a match.
I also used my colour spritzer and Basic Black marker on the journalling boxes to give them a more vintage feel.
Stamps: Bliss
Ink: Riding Hood Red, Basic Black Marker
DSP/Cardstock: Love Letter DSP, Very Vanilla, Basic Black
Other: Big Shot, Timeless Type Alphabet Dies, Paper Snips, Scallop Edge Border Punch, Colour Spritzer

Stamp A Memory February Challenge: u & me
Hi!
Today I'm excited to participate in my first Stamp A Memory challenge as a part of the Design Team.
As it's February naturally the challenge is to focus on the colour RED. What a fantastic opportunity to scrap about my husband Rob and I. This Valentine's Day will be our 13th together and while we don't usually celebrate Valentine's Day, it's nice to remind each other of the fantastic team we make.
I scraplifted this layout from one created by Stacy Cohen and published in Creating Keepsakes magazine on the 19th October. I loved her layout and wanted to recreate it with my own spin.
There is quite a lot of detail in this layout compared to my usual style. Lots of pleated ribbon and layering. I also used a lot of shimmer paint mixed as a spritzer. I spritzed the little heart punchies with Champagne Mist shimmer spritz and then covered them with Crystal Effects to give a bit of oomph to the hearts. I also used Crystal Effects on the title.
DSP/Card Stock: Love Letter DSP, Basic Black, Very Vanilla, Riding Hood Red
Other: Basic Black and Very Vanilla Satin Ribbon, Scallop Trim, Full Heart, Heart to Heart, 1 3/4" Circle and Photo Corner Punches, Champagne Mist Shimmer Paint spritzer, Crystal Effects.
So go on, hop on over to the Stamp A Memory blog and see what the other girls have come up with to inspire you. I'd love to see your layout based on the colour red entered in the challenge.
Catch you later,
Tina

Rolled Roses
Hi!
Today's card was also a custom order. I was asked to make a card for a wedding, so I wanted to make an elegant card. I have seen a lot of rolled roses on projects lately and wanted to have a go at making some, so this card seemed the perfect opportunity. Here's how it turned out:
A little hard to see, but I spritzed the roses with Champagne Mist shimmer paint for a touch of glitz.
Stamps: En Francais Background, Baroque Motifs
Ink: Riding Hood Red, Versamark
DSP/Card Stock: Love Letter DSP, Riding Hood Red, Basic Black
Other: Paper Snips, Very Vanilla Taffeta Ribbon, Crystal Effects, Stamp Positioner, Champagne Mist Shimmer Paint, Black Embossing Powder

A Well Scripted Love Letter
Hi!
Today's card is another custom order. The request was for a birthday card for my customer's mother. I wanted to use the new Love Letter DSP, so I used the colours in the paper as the basis for the card.
I like using black in cards like this - I think it is elegant. However, too much black is not a good thing so I softened it with a large piece of DSP framed by torn card stock edges. The satin ribbon, black flower and pearl also add small touches to the overall look of the card.
Stamps: Well Scripted
Ink: Riding Hood Red
DSP/Card Stock: Love Letter DSP, Basic Black, Riding Hood Red, Very Vanilla
Other: Big Shot, Lots Of Tags Sizzlet Die,Oval XL Punch, Pearl, 5/8" Basic Black Satin Ribbon, Dimensionals, Black Flower

Tina
