Colour Creations: Peach Pie

 Hi!

Wow, welcome to the first of the new series of Colour Creations Blog Hops. We are back to the beginning, starting with the new 2024-2026 In Colours. This week we are featuring Peach Pie, a soft orange that I think I will grow to like!

I nearly wasn't able to participate tonight, as I hadn't ordered any of the In Colour products from the new Annual Catalogue. Thankfully, my wonderful friend, Andrea Sargent came to my rescue and gave me some things to use. I received a lovely little pack of cardstock, DSP and the loan of an inkpad. Isn't she fabulous?

I put it to good use on my card, using both the In Colour DSP and the Unbounded Beauty DSP on my card. I love those Petunia Pop stripes with Peach Pie, and how they pick up the pink in the floral DSP. You'll have to forgive my use of a now retired stamp set, I don't have any sentiment stamps left that were suitable.

Nice and simple on the inside, and the card is done! Would you believe that I made this card yesterday, and not in 15 minutes after getting home this afternoon and realising I still need to make a card? LOL!

JAI 699: Just Add Colour

Thanks for joining me for the new Just Add Ink challenge. This week we have a colour challenge for you, suggested to us by Di.

I really love this combo, and I feel like, depending on how you use the colours, it could be either masculine or feminine. This is a bit of a last hurrah for Starry Sky, as it retires at the end of the month.

My oldest son recently turned 21, and so he needed a special card. I decided to make a Double Z Fold card for him. On the front I stamped a combination sentiment from a long-retired SAB set, called Amazing Phrasing. I used three separate stamps for the sentiment, mixing and matching from the options available in the set. A couple of Coastal Cabana Stitched Star die cuts finished off the front.

I used the Alphabet A La Mode Dies for the foil numbers, and Number Of Years (also long-retired) to stamp around them. Another Stitched Stars foil star finished off the front of the card.

I decided to add an extra panel to the back of the card to give us plenty of room to write our messages to Alex. I couldn't resist dressing it up with yet another foil star.

Colour Creations: Tahitian Tide

Welcome to the final blog hop in the 2023-24 Colour Creations series. I can't believe that, once again, we have hopped our way through all of the colours in the Stampin' Up! range. We are finishing with one of my favourites. -Tahitian Tide. It's a lovely, bright blue that is, sadly, about to retire. I haven't used it anywhere near enough!

Also retiring, and also not used anywhere near enough, is the On The Ocean stamps and dies. They will certainly remain as a permanent part of my stamp collection. As will Rays Of Light, another retiring stamp that I have used as my background on this card. I love the way it can be used to draw your eye to a specific part of a design.

I had fun making the waves for the card. I cropped a piece of Whisper White using the solid wave die, and then inked both of the parts with Tahitian Tide ink. I left the tops of the waves white to give the effect of the breaking waves. I also cropped some Tahitian Tide, backed with Adhesive Sheet, using the outline wave die. The three layers look fantastic together!

I stamped a similar scene on the inside of the card, instead of using die cuts like on the front. The set is so versatile to allow both! I believe that the stamps and dies are around half price in the Last Chance sale, so snap them up if you're keen!

CTC 466: Favourite Mini Catalogue Project

Welcome to the new CASEing The Catty Sunday Challenge Blog Hop. Sadly, this is my final blog hop as a member of the CTC Crew - I have decided to step down from the team as lately I have been unable to devote my energy to the team as much as I have in the past. The good news is that the Crew is on the hunt for some new Crew members, so you will begin to see some fresh, new faces on the hops soon.

On to the challenge! This week we are asking you to CASE your favourite project from the current Mini Catalogue. I'm a sucker for a stripes/floral DSP combo, so this card from page 46 caught my eye.

I love the way that the top section is stamped in coordinating ink, and then stamped and heat embossed over the top. I didn't end up stamping my background, I used two pieces of DSP instead.

The Lighter Than Air DSP is so pretty! I kept the stripes on the bottom, but chose the diamonds to go on top. A strip of Lemon Lolly cardstock covers the join, and provides a base for the sentiment, from In The Moment.

I cropped the hot air balloon from another piece of the DSP, and then popped it up over a partial Everyday Details circle cropped from vellum. It helps make the balloon stand out from the background DSP.

I left the inside sentiment free, as the front sentiment is quite versatile for a few different situations. A leftover strip of DSP and cardstock was all that was needed.

Colour Creations: Sweet Sorbet

Hello, and welcome to the second last Colour Creations Blog Hop of the 2023-2024 season. It's so strange to be nearly complete! This week were are looking at Sweet Sorbet, a gorgeous pinky-red that I will really miss when it retires next month.

It's school holidays here, and I completely forgot about making a card for the hop until I was about to start cooking dinner tonight. Oops! Luckily, I seem to have mastered the 15 minute cards lately, as that's all this card took to make.

A lovely friend recently gifted me the Deckled Circles Dies, so I started this card by cropping some Whisper White card using one. I left the cardstock in the die, and then used a small Blending Brush to carefully add a very light layer of Soft Sorbet ink around the edge. The die acts as a mask, leaving a lovely white border. I removed the die, and then stamped the flower from Sending Smiles and the sentiment from Biggest Wish.

A scrap of DSP and another sentiment from Biggest Wish completed the inside of the card. Easy!

JAI 697: Just Add A Sketch

 Hi!

Welcome to the new Just Add Ink challenge. This week Di has a sketch for us to use as inspiration for our cards.

I love that she's used hexagons, but they could easily be substituted for other shapes. I've gone for butterflies!

My card is made using a serviette that I liberated from a morning tea that I attended recently. It's far too pretty to wipe a dirty mouth or fingers on! I adhered a portion of the serviette to a piece of Whisper White cardstock for the background of my card.

I roughly cut some butterflies, adhered them to more cardstock and then fussy cut them once the glue dried. I love the slightly wrinkled effect of the glued serviette.

I used another portion of the serviette for the inside of my card. The flowers are just as pretty as the butterflies, so I definitely wanted to feature some.

Colour Creations: Soft Sea Foam

Hello and welcome to the new Colour Creations Blog Hop. This week it's Soft Sea Foam's turn to shine. It's a lovely, soft green that I like, but don't really use much.

I decided to play with a new stamp set that a lovely friend gifted me recently. It's from the upcoming Annual Catalogue, and is called Leaf Collection. I can see myself using this leafy background stamp a lot. I stamped it in SSF ink onto the coordinating cardstock, matted it on Whisper White, and then layered it over a SSF card base.

A scrap oval of vellum helped to distinguish the white Paper Butterfly Accents piece from the background. A scrap of ribbon was used to highlight the Biggest Wish sentiment. I cropped it using a banner from the Stylish Shapes Dies.

My card inside ended up a little differently than I planned. The butterfly was meant to be in the bottom left corner, but after I finished inking it, I noticed a smudge at the top right. I just flipped the card and stamped 'friend' over the top of the smudge to hide it. Phew!
