JAI 684: Just Add Colour

 Hi!

Thanks for joining me for the final Just Add Ink challenge of 2023. We'll be back in the New Year with another year of fun challenges, but we are taking some time off to be with loved ones. For now, though, let't get going with the challenge!

Rochelle has selected a Christmassy colour combination for us this time, handy for all those last minute Christmas cards. Or maybe you're over Christmas and you will make a different card. It doesn't matter, as long as you use the colours.

scissorspapercard, Just Add Ink, Stampin' Up! Dasher, Joy To You, Christmas Greetings Thinlits, Stylish Shapes Dies, Christmas Card

I chose Evening Evergreen, Real Red to go with the Gold in the combo. Can you spot the Gold on may card? In the bright sunshine it was difficult to capture!

scissorspapercard, Just Add Ink, Stampin' Up! Dasher, Joy To You, Christmas Greetings Thinlits, Stylish Shapes Dies, Christmas Card

Maybe this angle shows it better. Dasher was het embossed in Gold. Isn't he magnificent?

scissorspapercard, Just Add Ink, Stampin' Up! Dasher, Joy To You, Christmas Greetings Thinlits, Stylish Shapes Dies, Christmas Card

The stamped sentiments I've used are from Joy To You, and the die cut 'merry' is from the Christmas Greetings Thinlits dies.

This challenge is a non-voting one, meaning that we won't be choosing winners. We'd love for you to play along. There's plenty of time - Linky will be open for three weeks.

I hope that you have a lovely Christmas and New Year, with plenty of time for doing what you love to do. I have a quilt top that is very close to completion, so I will be madly trying to get that done by the end of the year.

Bye for now,

Tina

Colour Creations: Misty Moonlight

Hi!

Welcome to the final Colour Creations Blog Hop for 2023. Never fear, we will be back in 2024 with the rest of the colours in the Stampin' Up! range. For tonight, though, our focus is on Misty Moonlight. It's a gorgeous denim blue that I adore!

scissorspapercard, Colour Creations, Stampin' Up! Joy To You, Christmas Card

I kept my card nice and simple this week. I started by heat embossing the large sentiment from Joy To You using White Embossing Powder. I then used a Blending Brush to ink the edges of the card with Misty Moonlight ink. Finally, I splattered some (retired) Frost White Shimmer Paint over the top of the card, trying to stick mostly to the edges. It has a mind of it's own, though - the splatter goes where it wants to go, LOL!!

scissorspapercard, Colour Creations, Stampin' Up! Joy To You, Christmas Card

A final simple sentiment to finish off the inside of the card.

Thanks for joining us in 2023 for the Colour Creations blog hops, I hope you join us again in 2024. In the meantime though, please do finish this hop! The next stop along the way is my lovely friend, Kate Morgan.

The wonderful Cathy Proctor does an amazing job of organising the blog hops each week - thanks, Cathy! If you run into any problems with links, pop on over to her blog were you will find a list of all of tonight's participants to help get you back on track.

CTC 449: Merry Bright & Bold Colours

 Hi!

Welcome to the new CASEing The Catty Sunday Challenge Blog Hop. This week we are asking you to CASE the colours of the Merry Bold & Bright DSP. There's lots of bright, fun colours to choose from!

I decided to limit myself to just three, and chose Poppy Parade, Granny Apple Green and Blueberry Bushel. I also felt like making something other than a Christmas card, so I reached for my It's A Science stamp set.

scissorspapercard, CASEing The Catty, Stampin' Up! It's A Science, Basics 3DEF, Stampin' Blends

I recently purchased the Basics 3D Embossing Folders, so I started by using the crosshatch folder on my Whisper White cardstock. I then added some 'racing stripes' in my chosen colours. The colours look a bit dull, as it's a wild and wet day here. I had to race out between rainy periods just to grab a photo or two of my card.

scissorspapercard, CASEing The Catty, Stampin' Up! It's A Science, Basics 3DEF, Stampin' Blends

I stamped, coloured and fussy cut one of the beakers. The bubbles were a fun addition, made a little difficult by the embossed background, but I think they turned out OK.

scissorspapercard, CASEing The Catty, Stampin' Up! It's A Science, Basics 3DEF, Stampin' Blends

I added some more stripes to the inside of the card, and then used Versamark to stamp the molecular stamp over the top. I figured that it goes well with the inside sentiment, but I didn't do science beyond year 10 (which was a very loooooong time ago!), so I'm a bit fuzzy on it all!

Do you like playing with bright colours? We'd love to see what you make using the colours from the Merry Bold & Bright DSP. Just add a photo to our Facebook group so that we can see what you make.

Before you get inky though, please do finish off our blog hop. The next stop along the way is the fabulous Michelle Stradz, with an adorable Christmas card.

JAI 682: Just Add A Sketch

 Hi!

Welcome to the new Just Add Ink Challenge! This week we have a Sketch challenge for you, designed by.... me!

When I design sketches, I try to make tham as open to interpretation as I can. I just love what the Design Team has done with the sketch. So many gorgeous cards.

scissorspapercard, Just Add Ink, Stampin' Up! Beary Christmas DSP, Joy To You, Christmas Card

I decided to play with my Beary Christmas DSP again. I thought that the mini scenes with the animals would be a great choice for the oval panel. To suit the paper, I rotated the oval, but otherwise kept the card the same as the sketch.

scissorspapercard, Just Add Ink, Stampin' Up! Beary Christmas DSP, Joy To You, Christmas Card

The glittery strip behind the polar bears was very difficult to photograph. It's gorgeous in real life - you'll just have to take my word for it! I finally cracked open my Navy Glitter ribbon too. Yum!

scissorspapercard, Just Add Ink, Stampin' Up! Beary Christmas DSP, Joy To You, Christmas Card

Did you notice that I didn't use a sentiment on the front of the card? I didn't think needed one, so I left it off. It's pretty easy to tell what occasion the card is for! Just in case the recipient can't work it out, there's a lovely big sentiment on the inside, stamped using my Joy To You stamp set.

That's all from me for tonight. Please pop on over to the Just Add Ink blog to see what the rest of the Design Team have created with the sketch. You can also link up your card to enter the challenge. I'd love to see what you do with the sketch.

Colour Creations: Melon Mambo

Hi!

Welcome to the second last Colour Creations Blog Hop of 2023. It's still so weird to think that we are so close to the end of the year! Anyway, we are focussing on Melon Mambo this week, a former In Colour that made it's way into the Brights and has remained a part of the core colour collection ever since.

scissorspapercard, Colour Creations, Stampin' Up! Joy To You, Brights DSP, Christmas Card

I've paired it with Granny Apple Green and Whisper White for my fun Christmas card. I love the tiny little pops of green under each layer of the card. A great way to introduce a colour with our it overwhelming the rest of the card.

scissorspapercard, Colour Creations, Stampin' Up! Joy To You, Brights DSP, Christmas Card

I cut my Glittered Organdy Ribbon in half longways to create the smaller bow. It's such a neat trick with this ribbon!

scissorspapercard, Colour Creations, Stampin' Up! Joy To You, Brights DSP, Christmas Card

I used my Joy To You stamp set for the sentiments on my card. I'm so sad that this stamp set is retiring at the end of the current Mini Catalogue. It's such a great set that makes a bit impact with very little work!

That's all from me for tonight, but please do keep on jumping around the blogs on tonight's hop. Just keep on going until you get back to where you started. The next stop tonight is our fabulous hostess, Cathy Proctor.

Cathy's blog is also where you need to go if you run into any problems with links. She will have a list of all of tonight's participants to help get you back on track.

Colour Creations: Lost Lagoon

 Hi!

Welcome to the latest Colour Creations Blog Hop. It's been a while since I've been able to play along, but Lost Lagoon is one of my favourite ever colours, so I made a huge effort to get a card made this week for the hop.

scissorspapercard, Colour Creations, Stampin' Up! Timeless Greetings Kit, Hello Irresistible DSP, Pattern Party DSP, Nested Essentials Dies

Having said that, I don't particularly like my card! I think I'm just a bit lot rusty, as I haven't done much card making recently. I decided to use my Timeless Greetings Card Kit stamp set as the feature for the card.

scissorspapercard, Colour Creations, Stampin' Up! Timeless Greetings Kit, Hello Irresistible DSP, Pattern Party DSP, Nested Essentials Dies

To get the solid circle behind the clock face, I just flipped the stamp and used it like a reversible stamp. I popped a foam mat underneath, just to make sure that it stamped the whole circle cleanly. Then I cleaned it, flipped it back and stamped the clock over the top using Memento Tuxedo Black ink. Easy!

scissorspapercard, Colour Creations, Stampin' Up! Timeless Greetings Kit, Hello Irresistible DSP, Pattern Party DSP, Nested Essentials Dies

The DSP I used was from the Hello, Irresistible pack, plus a black and white scrap that I found on my desk. It's good to use things up so they don't float around on your desk forever!

The next stop in tonight's hop is my lovely friend, Christine Blain.

If you get stuck somewhere along the way, just pop on over to our wonderful Hostess, Cathy Proctor's blog. She's got a list of all tonight's participants to help get you back on track.

Heart Of Christmas Week 17

 Hi!

Welcome to the final Heart Of Christmas Blog Hop for 2023. I haven't been able to participate as often as I have in previous years, but I was determined that I wouldn't miss the final week. I've missed not hopping each week, but life had other things in store for me.

scissorspapercard, Heart Of Christmas, Stampin' Up! Brightest Glow, Beary Christmas DSP, Sheetload Of Cards, Christmas Card

This week I've used the April 2022 Sheetload of Cards template for my cards. I was determined to fussy cut some of the animals from the Beary Christmas DSP, and the layout of the card was chosen to suit. I think that this polar bear and bunny are adorable!

scissorspapercard, Heart Of Christmas, Stampin' Up! Brightest Glow, Beary Christmas DSP, Sheetload Of Cards, Christmas Card

The cards have a shortened front, so that the snowflake DSP does double duty. An economical way to decorate both the front and the inside of your card. As a bonus economy, the trimmed section from the card base was used to matt the sentiment panel on the front of the card.

scissorspapercard, Heart Of Christmas, Stampin' Up! Brightest Glow, Beary Christmas DSP, Sheetload Of Cards, Christmas Card

Here's my two cards together. I used my Brightest Glow stamp set for the sentiments. It's certainly been a favourite sentiment set for Christmas for me.

I hope that you've enjoyed this series of the Heart Of Christmas Blog Hops as much as I have. Sharon Davern has done a wonderful job of keeping us all organised along the way. Thanks, Sharon!

It's not quite over yet, though! Please keep on hopping around the blogs until you get back to your starting point. The next stop on the way is my lovely friend, Kathryn Mangelsdorf.

For one last time, if you run into issues with links tonight, jump on over to Sharon Davern's blog. She'll have a list of all tonight's participants to help get you back on track.

CTC 447: CASE A Kit

 Hi!

Welcome back! Have you missed me? It's been a while since I've been able to play along with the rest of the Crew for the CASEing The Catty Sunday Challenge Blog Hops. I've missed you all! Funnily enough, as life is usually cranking up for the Christmas period, my life is starting to slow down a little. It's been a crazy couple of months!

This week we are asking you to CASE a project from one of the current kits on offer. I'm usually a sucker for the kits, and I have many in my collection. Despite this, I went for a kit that I don't own. It's one I've thought of buying many times, as I love the designs, it's just never quite found it's way into my shopping cart.

I love the geometric designs of the papers, and the way that the laser cut piece over the top enhances the design. I also loved the angular bottom on the main panel. I really need to buy this kit! LOL

scissorspapercard, CASEing The Catty, Stampin' Up! Sending Smiles Bundle, Les Shoppes DSP

I used some DSP from the Les Shoppes DSP as the basis for my card. I matted it with some Calypso Coral card, and mounted it on a Misty Moonlight base.

scissorspapercard, CASEing The Catty, Stampin' Up! Sending Smiles Bundle, Les Shoppes DSP

My Sending Smiles bundle took care of the sentiment for me. I'm not convinced that Calypso Coral was the correct choice for the top layer of the sentiment - I may go back later and change it to white.

scissorspapercard, CASEing The Catty, Stampin' Up! Sending Smiles Bundle, Les Shoppes DSP

I left the inside black for now, as the front is quite all-purpose. I can add something in later when I know who will receive this card and why. If you look closely, you can see a decorative border on the Calypso Coral card - this was in my scraps pile, so I made good use of it!

As always, we'd love for you to join us in this challenge. Just choose a kit you like, CASE one of the projects from the kit, and add a photo to our Facebook Group before the challenge ends next Sunday. It's that easy!

Please do keep hopping around the Crew blogs tonight. There's lots more to see, starting with the lovely Peta Stephen. I adore her elegant Christmas card!

JAI 680: Just Add Alcohol

 Hi!

Welcome to the new Just Add Ink Challenge. It's a fun one this week! Well, I think they are fun every week, LOL!

Kerry set this challenge for us, which was to Just Add Alcohol. It's up to you where you go with it! I went with both an alcohol theme, and used alcohol markers on my card.

scissorspapercard, Just Add Ink, Ink Road Stamps Robin, Stampin' Up! Pattern Party DSP, Stylish Shapes Dies, Stampin' Blends

The stamp set that I used is from Ink Road Stamps, and is called Robin. I coloured her with my Stampin' Blends, using colours to match the background papers.

scissorspapercard, Just Add Ink, Ink Road Stamps Robin, Stampin' Up! Pattern Party DSP, Stylish Shapes Dies, Stampin' Blends

Speaking of the papers, which are from the Pattern Party DSP pack, how cool are the chevron stripes? I saw this technique recently on Brian King's blog - it's so easy! You take a diagonal striped paper and cut one strip from the side and one along the top. You can then trim and arrange them to get the chevron effect. Isn't it awesome? I can see myself doing this a lot.

scissorspapercard, Just Add Ink, Ink Road Stamps Robin, Stampin' Up! Pattern Party DSP, Stylish Shapes Dies, Stampin' Blends

Hehe, I love this inside sentiment. So punny!

We'd love to see where your imagination takes you on this challenge. Pop on over to the Just Add Ink blog, where you'll see the rest of this week's Design Team cards. You'll also find our linky so that you can enter the challenge.

JAI 678: Just Choose Two

 Hi!

Thanks for joining me for the new Just Add Ink challenge. This week we are doing a Choose Two challenge, suggested to us by Nikki.

Nikki is asking us to Choose Two of Brights, Foliage or Friend to add to our cards. On the Design Team, we are given the list of challenges well in advance (thanks, Kim!), so it was very coincidental that one of this week's choices was Friend, after the recent shock death of Matthew Perry. Friends was a show I watched and loved as a young adult, so I just had to include a Friend on my card.

scissorspapercard, Just Add Ink, Ink Road Stamps, The One Where It's Your Birthday, The One With All The Stamps, The One With All The Stamps Icons, TOWATS Icons Vol 2, Pop Culture

The stamps that I've used are all from Ink Road Stamps, starting with The One With All The Stamps Icons Vol 2. I used this stamp for the minimalist hair. It's funny how, with so little detail, you know that it's Chandler/Matthew.

scissorspapercard, Just Add Ink, Ink Road Stamps, The One Where It's Your Birthday, The One With All The Stamps, The One With All The Stamps Icons, TOWATS Icons Vol 2, Pop Culture

The sentiment is from The One With All The Stamps. What more needs to be said? To incorporate the second of my Choose Two elements, I used my Stitched Greenery Die on the Soft Sea Foam background. Nice and subtle!

scissorspapercard, Just Add Ink, Ink Road Stamps, The One Where It's Your Birthday, The One With All The Stamps, The One With All The Stamps Icons, TOWATS Icons Vol 2, Pop Culture

I thought that this sentiment, from The One Where It's Your Birthday, worked well from the inside. The original quote was when Rachel moved out of Monica's apartment to make room for Chandler, I though that is was more than suitable for this card. I also could't resist adding Chick and Duck, from The One With All The Stamps Icons. I have no idea who will get this card, but it was therapeutic to make it!

We'd love to see which Two you will choose from the three options in this week's challenge. To see what the other Design Team members have chosen, just pop on over to the Just Add Ink blog. You will also find our Linky when you're ready to enter your card in the challenge.

Bye for now,

Tina
