Colour Creations: Pool Party

 Hi!

Welcome to a new Colour Creations Blog Hop, where we are featuring each of the colours in the Stampin' Up! range in alphabetical order. This week it's Pool Party week. A little ironic, as it's been cool and rainy all day here -definitely not pool party weather!

I was in the mood for a CAS card this week, so after perusing my stamp collection, I settled on Daisy Lane. It's been a while since I've used it, so it was well past time to brush off the dust.

I started by inking the circle using my Blending Brush and a mask made from copy paper and a circle die. The two daisies were stamped over the top and then a third, completely uncoloured daisy was stamped on some scrap card and popped up over the top.

I used the same techniques on the inside, but as you can see, with a stripe instead of a circle. Can you believe that I eye-balled stamping the sentiment? I was pretty impressed with how straight and even I was able to get it!

That's all from me for tonight, but please do jump on over to see what my friend, and fellow South Aussie, Diane Furniss, has created.

If you run into a problem, the best place to start is the blog of our lovely hostess, Catherine Proctor. She's got a list of all participants on her blog, so you can pick up the Hop again there.

Bye for now,

Tina

  1. I'm super impressed with your eyeballing too, Tina, and the understated elegance of this sweet and simply card. It makes me feel very calm just looking at your card and I love the unexpected stripe of colour in the inside.

  2. When in doubt, use a daisy! They are such a sweet flower, and I like the way you’ve kept the colour to a minimum. Fantastic to get your sentiment straight like that, especially with the stripe that could so easily have shown you up.

  3. Oh-so-pretty, Tina! The circle (and the strip inside) created by blending ink onto your card looks so nice. Love the classic colour combo, the simplicity of the design, and your fab job with eyeballing the sentiment inside!

  6. Oh Tina - I love, love, love your card. The simplicity of the blended circle with the daisies is delightful; as is the stripe with the words inside. I had only been thinking during the week that I should be challenging myself with CAS cards. You have heightened that challenge for me. Xxx
