CTC #264 Week 1: A Masculine Twist

Hi!

Waa hoo! It's Sunday evening, so that means it's CASEing The Catty Sunday Challenge Blog Hop time! Have you arrived here from Sandra's blog? Or are you starting here? Either way, just keep on hopping until you get back to where you started. Too easy!

This fortnight we start a new challenge, and it's giving any January-June Mini Catalogue project a masculine twist. Yay! I like making masculine cards!

After a short perusal of the catalogue - I only got to page 12 - I found this cute card with the hearts behind the sentiment panel. I loved the simplicity of this card, so I kept the same layout for my card, I just switched for masculine elements.

I started with a piece of Golden Honey DSP. I thought the black and gold stripes were perfect for a bold, masculine card. I mounted it on a slightly larger piece go Basic Black for stability and then popped it up on my Basic Black card base using Black Dimensionals. I looooove black Dimensionals!

I cut a heap of gears/cogs from Gold Foil paper and adhered them flat to my DSP. The Tailored Tag punched shape was popped up over the top using - you guessed it - black Dimensionals 😂 I also used a few of the circle pieces left over from the cogs to decorate both the sentiment label and the DSP.

I used a left over strip of the DSP and some Gold Foil to finish off the inside. The sentiments, both front and inside, are from Seaside Notions. I love the typewriter-ish font for masculine cards.

Our challenges are Facebook based, so all you need to do is join the group, if you're not there already, and then upload a photo of your card for each challenge to the group. Too easy!

Before you go check out the Facebook group, don't forget to finish the hop! Please sail on over to the lovely Peta's blog.

Bye for now,

Tina

  6. That black and gold sure packs a punch. Love the way you CASED the original. I really like the way you've kept it simple and not been tempted to introduce another colour or element to the black & gold. Another fabulous creation!
