Colour Creations: Parakeet Party

 Hi!

Thanks for joining us for the new Colour Creations Blog Hop. This week it's Parakeet Party's time to shine. It's a bold, bright green that sits in the 2022-2024 In Colour Family - which means that it's only around until the end of the current Annual Catalogue.

scissorspapercard, Colour Creations, Stampin' Up! Biggest Wish, More Wishes, Dots & Spots Die

I decided to go simple with my card, and let the black polka dots do all the work. I used my Dots & Spots die to crop the dots into the Parakeet Party layer, and then backed it with a slightly larger Basic Black layer. I popped it all on a Parakeet Party card base.

Now, the trick was how to add a sentiment. I played around with my Biggest Wish stamp set and some scraps of Whisper White card, and settled on this quick and easy arrangement. I wouldn't usually have a banner floating on a card, but I'm totally loving this look! Perhaps the black dots help to anchor it?

I also used the companion stamp set, More Wishes on the inside of my card. It's carried over from the previous Mini Catalogue (yay!), and is perfect to mix and match with Biggest Wish.

That's all from me tonight, but please do make your way around all of the blogs in tonight's hop. The next stop is the lovely Kate Morgan, who always blows me away with her creativity.

As always, if you run into issues with any of the links, just pop on over to Cathy Proctor's blog. She'll have a list of all of tonight's participants to help get you back on track. Isn't she a gem?

CTC 454: CASE The SAB Catalogue

 Hi!

Welcome to the new CASEing The Catty Sunday Challenge Blog Hop. This week we are back looking at the Sale-A-Bration Catalogue.

I found this cute card on page 9. I really liked the repeated hearts and the flagged banner, so I used those as my inspiration.

I don't have the products used in the catalogue sample, so I went looking through my stamp sets to see what might work. I settled on Taco Fiesta, thinking that it would make a fun card.

scissorspapercard, CASEing The Catty, Stampin' Up! Taco Fiesta, Watercolour Pencils

I started by stamping four tacos on some scrap Whisper White using Memento ink. I then coloured them using my Watercolour Pencils. I used Crushed Curry, Granny Apple Green and Real Red. I use Memento ink so that I can blend the pencils using my Clear Wink Of Stella brush. The card is so sparkly in real life!

The tacos are popped up over the card base, and the banner was added in the middle. I probably could have squeezed six tacos onto the card, but it looked a bit squishy.

I love the punny sentiments in this stamp set, especially this 'holy guacamole' one on the inside of the card.

We'd love for you to play along with us for this challenge. What's your favourite card/project in the Sale-A-Bration Catalogue? Give it a CASE and then add your photo to our Facebook group. It's that easy!

Before you go, please continue your way around our blog hop. The next stop is my lovely friend, Kathryn Mangelsdorf

JAI 685: Just Add Flowers

 Hi!

Welcome back for another fun year of Just Add Ink challenges! As usual, we are kicking off the year with a Blog Hop to launch the first challenge of 2024. The blog before mine was Annie Alexander's. Wasn't her card gorgeous?

Speaking of gorgeous, what about that challenge graphic? So pretty! We are asking you to Just Add Flowers for our first challenge of 2024.

scissorspapercard, Just Add Ink, Stampin' Up! Days To Remember, Pierced Blooms Dies, Stylish Shapes Dies

I reached for my retired Pierced Blooms dies - my favourite floral dies of all time, I think. I cropped the blooms from Berry Burst and Bubble Bath cardstock, with Lemon Lime Twist leaves.

scissorspapercard, Just Add Ink, Stampin' Up! Days To Remember, Pierced Blooms Dies, Stylish Shapes Dies

The circle die cut is from Stylish Shapes Dies, and was edged in Balmy Blue ink using a Blending Brush. I cut a length of Shimmery White ribbon in half lengthwise for the sweet little bow.

The sentiments I have used on my card are from Days To Remember. I sometimes forget that this set has more than just calendar stamps!

That's all from me for this week's challenge, but please keep hopping around all of the blogs tonight. Just keep on going until you get back to where you stared. The next stop along the way is the lovely Lou Kitzelman.

When you've made your Just Add Flowers card, jump on over to the Just Add Ink blog, where you'll find the Linky for the challenge. We'd love to see what you make!

Colour Creations: Old Olive

 Hi!

Thanks for joining me for the new Colour Creations Blog Hop. This week we are feating Old Olive. I really struggled with this, as it's more of a 'supporting actor' colour to me than a 'leading actor' colour. I also find it to be a heavy colour, so I decided to use lots of white on my card.

scissorspapercard, Colour Creations, Stampin' Up! Easter Bunny, Nested Essentials Dies, Stampin' Blends

I haven't played much with my Easter Bunny stamp set, so it was a good opportunity to pull it out. I stamped the bunny on the largest Nested Essentials Dies rectangle die cut using Memento ink. I also masked her bottom so that I could stamp some grass around her. I used the second smallest rectangle die to crop the sentiment. I ran it through twice, shifting the die in-between, so that I ended up with. smaller label.

scissorspapercard, Colour Creations, Stampin' Up! Easter Bunny, Nested Essentials Dies, Stampin' Blends

The bunny was coloured with my Stampin' Blend markers. I stamped the flower crown separately and then popped it up over the top once I'd coloured and fussy cut it. I think it's a really cute accessory for the bunny! A Blending Brush and Balmy Blue ink was used to colour the sky section of the panel.

scissorspapercard, Colour Creations, Stampin' Up! Easter Bunny, Nested Essentials Dies, Stampin' Blends

I left the inside mostly blank for now, with just the strip of DSP. I'm not sure how I'll use this card, so I will decide what to stamp on the inside once I know.

Please continue your way round our blog hop tonight. The next stop along the way os my lovely friend, Cathy Proctor. I can't wait to see what she's made.

Cathy is also our wonderful host of the Colour Creations Blog Hops. If you run into issues with links, jump on over to her blog, where you'll find a list of all of tonight's participants to help get you back on track.

Colour Creations: Night Of Navy

 Hi!

Welcome to Night Of Navy week of the Colour Creations Blog Hop. It's a lovely, deep blue that's been in the Stampin' Up! colour line up for as long as I can remember.

scissorspapercard, Colour Creations, Stampin' Up! Sending Smiles Bundle, Basics 3DEF, Stylish Shapes Dies

This card is a CASE of one by Akiko Sudano of Stampin' In The Meadows. I loved the colours and layout that she used, but I didn't have any of the products that she used, so I had to improvise.

scissorspapercard, Colour Creations, Stampin' Up! Sending Smiles Bundle, Basics 3DEF, Stylish Shapes Dies

I chose to use my Sending Smiles bundle. The Night Of Navy flowers aren't quite as dark as in the photo - they nearly look black here! I was running out of time and had to take my photo inside. School holidays are fabulous for losing track of time!

scissorspapercard, Colour Creations, Stampin' Up! Sending Smiles Bundle, Basics 3DEF, Stylish Shapes Dies

The Boho Blue layer on the front of the card was embossed using one of the folders from the Basics 3DEF pack. I used an offcut to finish off the inside, along with a flower left from the front. I can't believe that I resisted buying the Basics 3DEF pack for so long!

My lovely friend, Di Furniss, is the next stop in tonight's blog hop. I wonder what fabulousness she's created with Night Of Navy?

If you come across a problem with links while you're hopping, just pop on over to the wonderful Cathy Proctor's blog. She will have a list of all of tonight's participants to help get you back on track.

CTC 451: CASE The Mini Catalogue

 Hi!

Welcome to the first CASEing The Catty Sunday Challenge Blog Hop for 2024! It's a new year, and we have two new catalogues to CASE from, so let's get cracking!

This week we are asking you to CASE from the new January - April Mini Catalogue. Don't have any products from the catalogue yet? That's OK - just use what you have!

I went straight for the back cover of the catalogue, intending to flip until I found something to inspire me The back cover provided this little gem. I loved the strips of paper behind the main image, and the bright, cheerful colours.

scissorspapercard, CASEing The Catty, Stampin' Up! Reach For The Stars, Stargazing DSP, Stylish Shapes Dies

I haven't played with my Reach For The Stars bundle for a while, so I thought it would be a good choice for the card. I started with some strips of Stargazing DSP on a Tahitian Tide card base. It's a very bright blue!

scissorspapercard, CASEing The Catty, Stampin' Up! Reach For The Stars, Stargazing DSP, Stylish Shapes Dies

The shuttle was stamped with Tahitian Tide ink, and the sentiment with Night Of Navy Ink. Both were cropped with Stylish Shapes Dies. I ran the banner piece through my Big Shot twice, as the label that was the perfect height for the sentiment was way too long. I just repositioned the die before the second pass to crop the label a little shorter.

scissorspapercard, CASEing The Catty, Stampin' Up! Reach For The Stars, Stargazing DSP, Stylish Shapes Dies

These little star stamps match the DSP so well, and I thought that they were a great way to frame the inside sentiment.

We'd love for you to play along with our challenge. Just choose a card/project to CASE from the new Mini Catalogue, take a photo and upload it to our Facebook group. It's that easy!

Before you race off to get creating, please keep on going around our blog hop until you get back to where you started. There's lots more inspiration to be seen, starting with the lovely Julia Quinn with a gorgeous butterfly card!

Colour Creations: Mossy Meadow

Hi!

Thanks for joining me for the first Colour Creations Blog Hop of 2024. This week we are featuring Mossy Meadow, a dark green from the Neutrals family. I find Mossy Meadow to be a very heavy colour, so it's not one I use often. I've paired it with Flirty Flamingo tonight to brighten up my card.

scissorspapercard, Colour Creations, Stampin' Up! Sending Smiles Bundle, Hello Irresistible DSP, Sympathy Card

The layout and colour scheme of my card was inspired by a card that Teneale Williams made using Whimsy Wishes. I've used some Hello, Irresistible DSP as the feature panel on my card. It's my favourite paper in the pack, I think.

scissorspapercard, Colour Creations, Stampin' Up! Sending Smiles Bundle, Hello Irresistible DSP, Sympathy Card

I used one of the smaller sentiments from Sending Smiles on my card. It fits in the coordinating label so well.

scissorspapercard, Colour Creations, Stampin' Up! Sending Smiles Bundle, Hello Irresistible DSP, Sympathy Card

I fussy cut one of the blooms from the DSP to finish off the inside of my card. I didn't stamp a sentiment so that I had plenty of room to write my message to the recipient.

There's lots more Mossy Meadow inspiration to be found, so please keep on hopping around the linked blogs until you get back to where you started. The next stop on this hop is the lovely Rosa Leyden.

Cathy Proctor, as always, has done a wonderful job of getting us all organised. If you run into problems with links, please pop on over to her blog where you'll find a list of all tonight's participants to help get you back on track.
