Colour Creations: Pecan Pie

 Hi!

Welcome to our Colour Creations Blog Hop. This week, we are celebrating Pecan Pie, the last of the new colours to the Stampin' Up! range. It's a warm mid-brown that I think will grow on me - I haven't quite warmed to it yet.

scissorspapercard, Colour Creations, Stampin' Up!, It's A Science, Tailor Made Tags Dies

I recently purchased the It's A Science stamp set, and couldn't wait to play. Like last week, I was very time poor, so a clean and simple card was called for. I really love the science puns in this stamp set, so it was a no brainer to use the matter icon all over the front of my card.

scissorspapercard, Colour Creations, Stampin' Up!, It's A Science, Tailor Made Tags Dies

The matching sentiment was stamped Whisper White card, cropped with a Tailor Made Tags Die and popped up over the card base.

I used another pair of icon/sentiments for the inside of the card. I can see myself having a lot of fun with this stamp set!

That's all from me, but please do continue your way around our hop. Just keep on going until you get back to where you started. The next stop is the lovely Caroline Manwaring, and I'm sure that she's got something gorgeous for you to see.

As always, if you come across a broken link, pop on over to the wonderful Cathy Proctor's blog. She will have a list of all participants to help get you back on track.

JAI 658: Just Choose Two

 Hi!

Hooray for Friday, and the end of a wet, miserable week! Well, the weather was miserable, but I was happy, as my mum was here for a visit. She's gone home now, but it was lovely having her here.

This week at Just Add Ink, we have a Choose Two challenge for you. Di suggested this challenge, to add two of either scraps, strips or sequins to a card. I nearly added stripes, but I released in time that the element was strips, not stripes. Oops!

When I saw that sequins was one of the options, I decided to make a shaker card. They are a great way to add sequins to a card! I had no idea how to incorporate either strips or scraps, but I put that aside as a problem for after I made the shaker part of the card. As it turned out, I put too many sequins in the shaker, so you can't see the sentiment I stamped at the back of it - a strip over the top solved that problem!

scissorspapercard, Just Add Ink, Concord & 9th Bitty Burst Turnabout Stamp, Stampin' Up! Stylish Shapes Dies, Shaker Card

The stamp I used for my card is a Concord & 9th Turnabout stamp, called Bitty Burst. I liked that it added another circular element to the card, although it was the first thing that I did.

scissorspapercard, Just Add Ink, Concord & 9th Bitty Burst Turnabout Stamp, Stampin' Up! Stylish Shapes Dies, Shaker Card

I couldn't think what else to do on the inside of my card, so I just left it blank, apart from the stamped sentiment, which is also from the Bitty Burst set. It leaves me a lot of room to write a message in the card.

Jump on over to the Just Add Ink blog, where you can see the rest of the Design Team cards this week. You can also link up your card there when you've made it. Which two will you choose? Sequins, Strips or Scraps?

Colour Creations: Lemon Lolly

 Hi!

Thanks for once again joining me for the new Colour Creations Blog Hop. We are still working our way through the new core colours - this week we are featuring Lemon Lolly. It's a lovely, soft, pure lemon yellow, as the name suggests! It's a much clearer colour than previous pale yellows that we've had in the colour range.

scissorspapercard, Colour Creations, Stampin' Up!, Light The Candles Kit, Bright & Beautiful DSP, Songbird Punch

I struggled a bit with thinking about what to do with Lemon Lolly, but then I remembered that I owned the Songbird punch. The yellow and blue birds are quite cute, I think! The background paper is from the  Bright & Beautiful DSP pack. I just cut my selected piece to card front size and then trimmed 1 1/2 inches from one side. I flipped the paper to the other side, added a piece of Misty Moonlight card down the length as a border and then adhered both pieces of DSP to the card front. A piece of White Twine finishes off the front.

The sentiments on my card are from the Light The Candles Kit - it's easy to forget about kit stamp sets when you are creating, but they are a great source of images and sentiments. The Lemon Lolly ink is much easier to read in real life! The photos don't do a great job of picking it up.

I made a third bird for the inside of my card, and nested him on a strip of DSP and cardstock left over from the front of the card.

That's all from me for tonight, but please do continue making your way around all of the blogs tonight. There's lots more Lemon Lolly gorgeousness to be seen! The next stop is my lovely friend, Rachel Palmieri. I wonder what she's done with Lemon Lolly?

If you happen to come across a broken link on tonight's hop, please jump on over to Cathy Proctor's blog. She will have a list of all of tonight's participants to help get you back on track again.

Colour Creations: Bubble Bath

 Hi!

Thanks for joining me for the new Colour Creations Blog Hop. This week, it's Bubble Bath's turn to come out and play. It's a lovely soft pink, but more importantly, it's a clear, clean pink. I love it!

I have been extremely time poor this week, and did consider pulling out of the blog hop, but I decided to give it a hot crack. I literally had a 20 minute window to make my card. I set a timer and all! When I checked my timer at the end of making the card, I still had 5 minutes on the clock. Woah!

scissorspapercard, Colour Creations, Stampin' Up!, Peaceful Moments, Fresh As A Daisy DSP

The Fresh As A Daisy DSP made this card so quick! All I needed to do was matt this 4" square piece of DSP onto a slightly larger square of Garden Green cardstock, and pop it up on Dimensionals over a 5" square Thick Whisper White card base.

scissorspapercard, Colour Creations, Stampin' Up!, Peaceful Moments, Fresh As A Daisy DSP

The sentiment is from a recently retired set, called Peaceful Moments. Sadly, I found out yesterday afternoon that I would need a sympathy card, and I don't have any current sympathy stamp sets.

scissorspapercard, Colour Creations, Stampin' Up!, Peaceful Moments, Fresh As A Daisy DSP

I used the same stamp set and DSP on the inside of my card. There you have it - my 15 minute wonder card! Isn't it great when the DSP does all of the hard work?

The next stop on tonight's hop is my lovely friend, Kate Morgan. I'm sure that she's got something gorgeous for you to see.

As ever, the wonderful Cathy Proctor keeps us all organised, so if you run into any issues with broken links pop on over to her blog to find a list of all of tonight's participants to help get you back on track.

CTC 423: Fresh As A Daisy

 Hi!

Welcome back to the new CASEing The Catty Sunday Challenge Blog Hop. As this hop goes live, I will be just finishing the Adelaide Oval Climb, so fingers crossed all goes well - on the hop and the climb! I'm pretty excited to be able to walk over the top of Adelaide Oval.

But back to the challenge - this week we are asking you to make a project that uses the colours from the Fresh As A Daisy DSP. There's a lot of colours - even more than are listed on our challenge graphic. You don't need to CASE one of the cards in the section of the catalogue, although you can if you want. The main focus is the colours in the DSP.

scissorspapercard, CASEing The Catty, Stampin' Up!, Biggest Wish, Fresh As A Daisy DSP

As there's a lot of colours, I decided to use a few of them, but in small quantities so that they don't get overwhelming. The small strips are also a great way to use up scraps! I don't know about you, but I always seem to end up with lots of narrow strips of DSP.

scissorspapercard, CASEing The Catty, Stampin' Up!, Biggest Wish, Fresh As A Daisy DSP

I used the plainer side of the Fresh As A Daisy DSP for half of the strips, and then the matching cardstock for the other half. The sentiment is from Biggest Wish, and is stamped in Bubble Bath ink to match the card base. Early Espresso makes for a great matting colour.

scissorspapercard, CASEing The Catty, Stampin' Up!, Biggest Wish, Fresh As A Daisy DSP

I had two tiny pieces of DSP left from the front, just the right size for a pair of banners to decorate the inside.

We'd love for you to join in with our challenge. Just make a card using the colours from the DSP and add a photo to our Facebook group. Use one or two colours, the whole lot, or anywhere in between! Lots of the colours are new to the lineup, so it's really fun to have a play.

The next stop on tonight's blog hop is the lovely Peta Stephen with a card that I'm sure that her cat Marvi must approve of!

JAI 656: Just Add Inspiration

 Hi!

Hooray for Friday on a Long Weekend! Do you have any crafty plans? I have a few cards that I need to make, but I also have plans to get a lot of sewing done. Wish me luck - best laid plans, LOL!

This week at Just Add Ink we have an Inspiration Photo as our challenge, suggested to us by Kim. I struggled a lot with ideas and had just decided to watercolour a background using the colours in the photo. As I was taping the paper down I remembered the alcohol ink backgrounds, and decided that I'd rather do that!

scissorspapercard, Just Add Ink, Altenew Family Matters, Stampin' Up! Brilliant Wings Dies, Stampin' Blends

I used my Dark Calypso Coral Blend on a piece of vellum first, scribbling some splotches and then dripped some isopropyl alcohol over the top, blowing to get some movement in the ink. Once it was. dry, I repeated the process with my Dark Night Of Navy Blend.

scissorspapercard, Just Add Ink, Altenew Family Matters, Stampin' Up! Brilliant Wings Dies, Stampin' Blends

The Inspiration photo has a strong horizontal line through the middle. I flipped it to vertical with the addition of some black twine. The Black Glimmer butterfly die cut serves as the silhouettes in the image. I was quite pleased with how it turned out!

scissorspapercard, Just Add Ink, Altenew Family Matters, Stampin' Up! Brilliant Wings Dies, Stampin' Blends

I had an offcut of vellum left over from the front - I always make the fronts too big so that I have an offcut to work with on the inside. It was just he right size for the inner of my card, with some more twine and a smaller Glimmer butterfly. The stamp set that I used is from Altenew, called Family Matters.

That's all from me for now, but we'd love for you to play along with our Inspiration challenge. The Design team have done a marvellous job with using different elements of the photo to create their cards. Pop on over to the Just Add Ink blog to see their cards. You'll also find out linky there when you're ready to add your card to our challenge. I can't wait too ee what you make.

Tina

Colour Creations: Azure Afternoon

Hi!

Thanks for once again joining me for the new Colour Creations Blog Hop. This week we are starting on the new Core Colours that are brand new to the SU colour range. It's a lovely bright blue, called Azure Afternoon.

scissorspapercard, Colour Creations, Stampin' Up!, Watercolour World, Days To Remember, Fresh As A Daisy DSP, Stylish Shapes Dies

I started with a piece of Boho Blue DSP from the Fresh As A Daisy pack and stamped Watercolour World on the paper with Azure Afternoon ink. I thought that the white-ish streaks in the paper looked a bit like wispy clouds. Which doesn't really make sense if you think about it - it you were looking at the Earth from above the clouds, you certainly wouldn't be able to see the whole of the globe at once. Silly me!

scissorspapercard, Colour Creations, Stampin' Up!, Watercolour World, Days To Remember, Fresh As A Daisy DSP, Stylish Shapes Dies

I layered some Vellum and a length of Herringbone Ribbon under my sentiment, which is from Days To Remember. Nice and simple, so that I don't detract too much from the globe image.

scissorspapercard, Colour Creations, Stampin' Up!, Watercolour World, Days To Remember, Fresh As A Daisy DSP, Stylish Shapes Dies

I stamped a portion of the image once again on the inside of my card. I had to include the part with Australia and New Zealand!

That's all from me for tonight, but please do make sure that you jump around all of the blogs in tonight's hop. There's lots more Azure Afternoon goodness to see, starting with Amie McIlroy.

As always, the wonderful Cathy Proctor keeps us all organised each week for the hops. She'll help you, too, if you run into any issues. Just pop on over to her blog, where you'll find a list of all of tonight's participants to help get you back on track.

JAI 655: Just Add Music

 Hi!

Hello Friday, and the new Just Add Ink challenge. This week's theme - to Just Add Music - is right up my alley! Did you know that I play the Bass Clarinet in my local concert band? It's a lot of fun 😁

I decided to dig through my pop culture stamps for inspiration, and quickly found a Subway Art background stamp from Ink Road Stamps that suited the theme perfectly.

scissorspapercard, Just Add Ink, Kindred Stamps Little Town Life, Ink Road Stamps Subway Art: Fairytale, Copic Markers, Pop Culture Card

The stamp is called Subway Art: Fairytale, and is made up of a whole lot of lyrics from songs from fairytale-ish movies. I stamped it onto Azure Afternoon cardstock using coordinating ink, and then again onto Whisper White so that I could use one of the lyrics as my sentiment. Are you singing along in your head? I am!

scissorspapercard, Just Add Ink, Kindred Stamps Little Town Life, Ink Road Stamps Subway Art: Fairytale, Copic Markers, Pop Culture Card

The girl is from a Kindred Stamps digi stamp set, called Little Town Life. I just printed her off and coloured her with my Copic Markers.

scissorspapercard, Just Add Ink, Kindred Stamps Little Town Life, Ink Road Stamps Subway Art: Fairytale, Copic Markers, Pop Culture Card

On the inside of my card I used a physical stamp from the matching Little Town Life stamp set and again coloured her with my Copics. She certainly had an amazing adventure!

We'd love for you to play along with us this week. The Design Team have created some fabulous cards (as always) for the challenge. We'd love to see how you will interpret our music theme. Just add your card to our linky on the Just Add Ink blog.

Bye for now,

Tina
