Colour Creations: Crushed Curry

 Hi!

Welcome to another Wednesday night on my blog, and the new Colour Creations Blog Hop. This week we are all creating with Crushed Curry, which appears to be a not-very-popular colour amongst the AWH Team. What do you think? Like it, dislike it, or a bit 'whatever' about it? I probably fall into the latter group. It's not a colour I automatically reach for when I need a yellow, but I don't completely dislike it either.

Having said that, I did use a minimal amount on my card! To be fair - I used a minimal amount of black, too! I used the circles dies in my Stitched Shapes Dies to crop the three circles, and then chopped each one in half. You could use the Layering Circles Dies just as easily to create the same look.

Because the card is so plain, I jazzed it up with some Black Shimmer Paper. It's so much fun to work with! The sentiment is from one of the new kits that Stampin' Up! have released, called Let's Party Treat Packaging Kit. I mostly got the kit for the cute critter stamps, but I absolutely love the fonts and the sentiments, too.

I'm not sure if I like the inside of my card. I wanted to try something a little different, but I think that the colours make it look like crime scene tape! LOL! Maybe I need to try it again with a different colour.

Thanks for joining me once again, but please do continue your way around our Blog Hop. The next stop is my lovely friend, Di Furniss. I always love what she makes!

As always, our wonderful host is the lovely Catherine, so if you find a broken link, or just wish to see the full list of participants for tonight's Hop, just pop on over to her blog.

Bye for now,

Tina

  1. Oh, I laughed at your comment about the inside sentiment strip looking like crime scene tape! No, it doesn't. I am a sucker for a repeated sentiment like that; it looks great. Doesn't the Black Shimmer paper look fab? I like that you used Stitched Circles for the design on your card front; the stitched detail looks really good. Nice way to show that Crushed Curry doesn't have to be overpowering (can you tell I'm not a fan? LOL).

  2. Such a cool graphic card Tina. The black shimmer paper really pops - I think you've used just the right amount of Crushed Curry.

  3. Love some good crime scene tape and would be perfect for a murder mystery party My Sarah had one for her 18th. Love your very minimal crushed curry on the front of your card and who you created it, the black shimmer is so cool! Great card!

  4. Ha ha ha! Giggling at your crime scene comment! I don't think the inside of the card looks like a crime scene but I can understand how you made that comment. :) I adore the black shimmer paper you've used. It adds the perfect amount of glam to the card..

  5. Too funny your comparison to a crime scene Tina! I love this design and the black shimmer adds a nice sparkle to the simple colours.

  6. Hehe, crime scene, too funny! I actually like the idea of the stamp repeated across the card like that, but okay, maybe not in those colours, haha. The front of the card is lovely, even if it is minimal. That technique with the circles has been on my radar for a long time, great to see it used again!

  9. Hahaha, crime scene tape. I wouldn’t have thought that until you mentioned it Tina, now that’s all I see lol. However, I actually really like it and love the sparkle from the black shimmer paper.

  10. Too funny Tina. I actually like that you have repeatedly stamped the greeting. Your design is a little retro and the addition of the black glitter paper was a perfect choice.
