Colour Creations: 2021-22 In Colours

Hooray!! Time for a new year of Colour Creations! To get our timeline back in whack, we are starting with all five of the new In Colours. Have you seen them yet? Picked a favourite? Hmm, I'm still deciding! Because of that, I bucked my own system of the past year of Colour Creations and made a card that used all five colours.

scissorspapercard, Stampin' Up!, Colour Creations, Biggest Wish, Ornate Layers Dies, Stitched Rectangles Dies, Stampin' Blends

I started by creating my colourful panel. I used the stitched rectangle die from the Ornate Layers Dies to crop the Whisper White, Soft Succulent, Pale Papaya, Polished Pink and Fresh Freesia cardstock. I adhered these to a piece of copy paper so that I could crop the whole lot with a Stitched Rectangle Die. Copy paper ensures that it's not too thick for the die or Big Shot to cope with.

The stamping was done to match the colours on the main panel. Have you discovered the Biggest Wish stamp set yet? It's such an awesome set! I coloured a few Rhinestones with my Dark Evening Evergreen Blend and then popped the whole lot onto an Evening Evergreen card base that I'd stamped with the little crosses from Biggest Wish. I was so enamoured with the words in the set that I hadn't even noticed the crosses until I saw them used on other card!

For my inside, I simply used the offcuts from the front of the card! I cropped another Stitched Rectangle to sit inside the border piece. Too easy!

That's all from me for tonight. You've probably noticed by now that we've switched back to a traditional Blog Hop format for this year's Colour Creations. Next in the round is my lovely friend, Christine. You won't want to miss her gorgeous card, nor anyone else's! Just keep cruising around the blogs until you get back to where you started. 1. I like the colour-blocking effect, and great, chunky, sentiments, together Tina. Clever way to get all five colours on the one, fun, card!

  2. Oh Tina this is awesome - Love the inlay effect you've achieved and the tip about matting onto the copy paper!

  3. Love the geometric effect of this. Very cool tip about the copy paper, and I hadn't noticed that cross either! The colours look so great with the Evening Evergreen background.

  4. Stunning effect with the colour panels with the white. I adore the way you die cut the front and used the left over on the inside. Love this stamp set and you have created another wonderful card using it (love those crosses!).

  5. What a great effect having the bold colour panels Tina and thanks for the tip about the copy paper. Love how this card could be used for any gender or age as well.

  6. Love those blocks of colour and a great way to use the sentiment for such a happy card.

  7. Good tip on how to get the strips to fit through a die cut machine. Love the look of these, and the inside is super!

  8. A great card showcasing all of the new In Colours, Tina. I've seen a few cards featuring the Biggest Wish stamp set and I might just have to add it to my next order, it really is a great set. I love how you were able to use the off-cut mat of colours on the inside.

  9. Great use of the 5 in colors Tina with the colour blocking technique. I love how you carried it all through to the inside as well.

  10. What a 'happy' colourful card you have created Tina. Your colour blocking technique is a perfect way to showcase the new In Colors.

  11. Such a fantastic card Tina, just love the colour blocks and the Birthday panel too. A fun birthday card.
