Layout 25: Play

Hi!

Today's layout was a bit of a struggle for me.  The photo of Hudson in the ball pit he got for Christmas is chock a block full of bright colours.  At first I decided to go with bright colours on the layout, but no matter what I tried nothing worked.  Frustrated, I put the photo aside for a while.

When I came back to the photo I had one of those 'der' moments.  The bright colours I was trying to use were competing with the photo instead of highlighting it.  I went straight for the neutrals and the Travel Journal DSP.  Perfect!

I used Crumb Cake cardstock as the base.  I sprayed it a couple of times with my Silver Foil Smooch Spritz.  I then had a bit of a disaster that ended up working out nicely.  I shook my Smooch Spritz as there was still a bit of silver on the bottom.  It splattered everywhere, including on my favourite white tshirt.  While I wasn't happy about the tshirt, the splatters on my cardstock were fantastic!  The layout turned out quite grungy, which is very different to my usual style.

Ink: Basic Black Marker
DSP/Cardstock: Travel Journal DSP, Crumb Cake
Other: Silver Foil Smooch Spritz, Jumbo Eyelets, Hemp Twine, Dimensionals, Non SU Rubons.

Catch you later,

Tina

  2. Love the neutral colours with that gorgeous bright photo - just pops off the page. Glad the 'oops' moment turned out well. (For the page if not for the tshirt!)
