Colour Creations: Calypso Coral

Hi!

Welcome back once again for the new Colour Creations Showcase. Today's colour is one that I don't particularly like - Calypso Coral. It's a colour that can't make up it's mind if it's pink or if it's orange. It reminds me a lot of the 70's era, which prompted me to finally get out my Nothing's Better Than bundle to have a play.

The images and fonts in this bundle scream retro to me. I think of old fashioned diners from lots of movies I've seen. I was only alive for half of the 70's, so I don't remember it personally! Anyway, I started the card by stamping the coffee cup and saucer on some Calypso Coral card in the matching ink. The Stamparatus and it's ability to move the plates along the hinge was invaluable for this process!

I used my new Banners Pick A Punch to flag the ends of the sentiment pieces - oh how I love this punch, and I think you will too. Hopefully you can see that I've embossed the Whisper White and Calypso Coral backgrounds with my Subtle 3DEF, deliberately doing them in different directions just because I can. The 'coffee' die cut was stacked, with a Whisper White layer on top of three basic Black layers. The cups were just popped up with Dimensionals.

I was clever this time, and thought ahead. When I stamped the piece of Calypso Coral for the front, I cut the piece of card slightly larger so that I could trim off a strip for the inside. It makes life so much easier! And who says that inside sentiments always have to go in the centre? Not me!

That's all from me tonight, please do head on over to Catherine's Blog, where you can find the links for the rest of this week's Showcase blog posts. I'm interested in seeing what everyone has made with Calypso Coral.

Bye for now,

Tina
