Hi!
Welcome to the new week of the Colour Creations Blog Share. This week it's the gorgeous new In Colour, Pretty Peacock. I loved it as soon as I saw it, but I was also intimidated by it - it's such a pretty colour I wanted to do it justice and wasn't confident that I could!
I straight away think of Eastern cultures when I see the colour. I don't have the new peacock bundle and I never had the Eastern bundle that just retired. The only thing I could think of was the medallion in the Pattern Party Decorative Masks set.
I used the mask to sponge brayer my card, using more ink at the bottom to create an ombre effect. The image looks slightly fuzzy, but I like that effect - it reminds me of a woven rug.
I think gold is the perfect metallic for the rich Pretty Peacock. I used my Decorative Ribbon Border punch to create some accents for the sentiment. I also used the tiny little circles that are usually discarded from the off cuts to add to the masked design. They were just the right size to go over the small dots in the image.
When I created the masked panel for the front, I actually used a wider piece of cardstock. I did this so I could trim off a piece of the design to use on the inside. I often forget to do this kind of forward planning, so I was pleased I remembered this time!
That's it for me, now it's time to pop on over to Catherine's blog for the rest of this week's Pretty Peacock cards. I'm excited to see what everyone's made using this gorgeous colour.
Looks awesome Tina! You are so creative with these challenges. You did Pretty Peacock proud.
