JAI #331: Just Add Wings

Hi!

Luckily for me, I didn't blow away in the storms that hit Adelaide this week. It was pretty close though! I actually stamped today's Just Add Ink card by candle light because we lost power for a few hours. Photographing it was a challenge, but I got there in the end!

Anyway, this week Nikki has challenged us to Just Add Wings to our cards. I thought really hard about what I was going to create, and had all these big plans which totally went out the window when we lost power. I was forced to make a CAS card, and to be honest, I like this card much better than the one I had pictured in my head!

Aww, aren't those Ladybugs sweet?  They were quickly stamped in Basic Black ink and then watercoloured with Real Red ink and my Aqua Painter. The card base is Thick Whisper White, reverse embossed with the Large Dots TIEF. I then quickly and messily watercoloured in each dot, a bit of a play on the spots on a ladybug.

The round panel didn't look quite right just popped up on the card base, so I ended up looping some Black Metallic Thread behind the panel. I love the look!

Apologies for the dodgy pic of the inside - remember it was mid-storm!

What wings will you use on your card this week? Don't forget to share your card with us at Just Add Ink.

Bye for now,

Tina

  1. These ladybugs are so adorable, Tina! So glad you got through the massive storm ok - though stamping by candlelight sounds quite a challenge in itself. Your colouring is gorgeous and I love the way you've coloured the inverted spots and the addition of the black twine too. xx

  2. This card totally appeals to me, Tina. I love how the red is quite soft, and because the dots are 'messily' water coloured it just works perfectly.

Hope things in Adelaide are returning to normal and all is well at your house. xx
