Just Add Ink #59 and Exciting News!

Hi!

I have some exciting news today - I have been asked to be a Guest Designer on Just Add Ink!  I'm so excited!  I can't wait to see what they have in store for me.  Thanks so much to Delys and Bron and the rest of the JAI team for the wonderful opportunity to be a part of a fantastic team.

Today's card is for their current challenge, which is a sketch challenge.  You can see the sketch here.

I love all the soft pinks in this card.  I used the Sweet and Sour Speciality DSP as the main base for the card, and went with the coordinating colours for the rest of the card.

To create the main panel I stamped the All A Flutter butterfly twice in Rose Red, masked it and then stamped En Francais over the top in Pretty In Pink ink.

I was about to assemble the pieces of the card when I took another look at the sketch.  I had forgotten a layer, so I decided to add the scalloped section.

To create the larger scallops I punched a 1 1/4" circle and traced it on the cardstock.  I then cut along the lines and sponged the edges for a bit of pop.

Punch Bunch Birthday

Hi!

Today's card is a birthday card for a very special boy who turned 3 recently.  Liam's favourite colour is Murray red (from the Wiggles), so I just had to make red the feature colour of the card!

I used Platinum Shimmer paint to paint the chipboard 3.  It dries so quickly that's it's wonderful for cards you need to whip up in a hurry (yes - I will admit I made this card on the morning of the party)!

Bliss in Rich Razzleberry

Hi!

Here's a quick card I made for a niece's birthday.  The hardest part was using a stamp positioner to get all the flourishes lined up nicely, which wasn't hard at all!

I liked the Rich Razzleberry/Very Vanilla colour combination.  A little sponging around the main panel to give it a bit of lift, and a ribbon across the top for balance.

A stamp, a couple of punchies, some Dimensionals and the sentiment is done!

Stamp A Memory February Challenge: SANTA

Hi!

This month's challenge over at Stamp A Memory is to scraplift a layout from the Idea Book and Catalogue.  There are so many fabulous layouts in the catalogue it was very hard to pick just one for inspiration!  For those who aren't sure, scraplifting is taking a layout and recreating it.  For my scraplift I chose the layout on page 150.  Here is a photo of the catalogue layout.

And here is my scraplifted version.  The photos were taken at a Christmas party we went to last year.  Santa arrived in a fire truck and all three of my children got to sit in the passenger seat and try on a fireman's helmet.  I think they found that more exciting than Santa!

A close up of the present.  An easy embellishment for a Christmas themed page.

Hi!

I'm back with some more scrapbooking.  This layout uses some photos of Hudson on the first day he had his KidWalk.

I included some inspirational quotes about journeys on the layout.  The first one reads : The journey of a thousand miles begins with one step.  The second one reads: To get through the hardest journey we need take only one step at a time, but we must keep on stepping.  Very appropriate for my little man Hudson.

Elegant Soiree Male Birthday Card

Hi!

A quick post today.  This was a birthday card I made last month for a male friend using Elegant Soiree DSP.  I love the colours in this DSP - they are as equally suitable for a female as a male.

I used the Classic Stars jumbo wheel for the stars on the front.  I rolled the wheel on Very Vanilla cardstock and then cut out the individual stars.  A star brad from the Pretties Kit and a sentiment and it's done!
