JAI 707: Just Add A Sketch

 Hi!

Thanks for joining me for the new Just Add Ink Challenge. This week we have a sketch for you, designed by Kim.

I quite like that the only design element is the half circle on the side, although I did flip my half circle to the other side of the card. Once I'd worked out which stamp set that I wanted to use, it made more sense.

I used Unsinkable, from Kindred Stamps. I coloured the glamorous lady using mix of Stampin' Blends and Copics. Her dress is coloured with Fresh Freesia and Misty Moonlight, and her hair is using the E 13 - 18 Copic markers. I layered her over some retires Waves Of The Ocean DSP, and swished a little Wink Of Stella over her dress - a fancy dress needs a bit of sparkle!

I couldn't resist using a wood print from Wood Textures DSP as the half circle element, cropped with the largest circular Everyday Details Die. I thought that using the wood print tied in nicely with the sentiment.

The other half of the couple is on the inside of the card. He was much easier to colour! I think that I will put this card away for my next wedding anniversary, however that's not until April, so hopefully I don't forget about it in the meantime!

We'd love to see what you do with the sketch this week. You can see what the Design Team did over on the Just Add Ink blog. You can also add your card to the Linky when you are ready. We can't wait to see what you make!

Bye for now,

Tina

Colour Creations: Azure Afternoon

 Hi!

Thanks for joining us for the new Colour Creations Blog Hop. This week we are featuring Azure Afternoon, a gorgeous mid-blue that is a part of the Brights colour family. I decided to play with some new products.

I started by embossing the background cardstock using the Dotted Circles 3DEF. Isn't it gorgeous? I love that it's an extra big folder (6 x 8 1/2 inches) so that you can play with the placement of the centre circle. I wanted it offset so that I could use it to highlight the boat.

Speaking of the boat, and the lighthouse and sun, they are from the new Something For Everything Ephemera Pack. I pretty much just popped them out of the sheet, added some Dimensionals and adhered them to my card. So easy! Because the background is so textured, I added a little bit of Tombow adhesive to the Dimensionals to make them extra grippy.

The sentiments on my card are from the Simply Said stamp set. I couldn't resist adding a second boat to the inside of the card.

That's all from me for tonight, but there's lots more to see on our Blog Hop tonight. Please continue your way around the blogs, with my lovely friend Ros Davidson coming up next.

As always, Cathy Proctor does a marvellous job of keeping everyone organised. If you run into any problems with links, just pop on over to her blog, where she'll have a list of all of tonight's participants to help get you back on track.

Bye for now,

Tina

JAI 705: Just Add A Fancy Edge

 Hi!

Thanks for joining me for the new Just Add Ink challenge. This week, Lou has suggested that we add a Fancy Edge to our cards.

This one required a bit of thinking from me - probably something to do with the post-COVID bring fog! Then I remembered that I had this yet-to-be-used Game Controller Die by Scrappy Boy Stamps. That's about as fancy as my stash gets!

Not a straight edge to be seen! The die set has lots of layers and little fiddly bits and pieces to add to the base. Some were easy enough to glue on, but for others I pulled out my adhesive sheets. Very handy! There are lots of opportunities to mix and match colours, but I stuck with a fairly classic colour combo. You can't go too wrong with red, white and black!

I used a stamp from the retired Level Complete stamp set for the inside. I like that it could either be a birthday or a congrats card!

We'd love to see how you interpret the 'Fancy Edge' theme this week. You can see what the rest of the Design Team made over on the Just Add Ink blog. You can also link your card up to the challenge when you're ready.

Bye for now,
