Echoes Of Kindness Birthday Card

Hi!

I thought I'd share a card I made for a friend's birthday. I used the opportunity to try out the last two techniques I learned in the Marker Club run by Sue Maddex, my upline. I'm a bit sorry to say that I've only just got around to trying out last months tutorial at the same time as this months. It's been a busy month!

Anyway, here's the card:

Last month's tutorial was using heat embossing on vellum and markers to create a stained glass look. In this case there were a few stray marks from the embossing powder, so to hide them I decided to mount the vellum behind the Old Olive panel. I stamped the same image on the Old Olive and then very carefully cut around it using a scalpel to create a window slightly larger then the image. The vellum is mounted on Whisper White card stock to help it stand out.

This month's tutorial is using markers to colour ribbon. For this card I used my Lovely Lilac marker to colour some Whisper White Taffeta ribbon. It's a nice finishing touch. Remember too that Lovely Lilac is one of the colours being farewelled at the end of August, so stock up now if it's a favourite!

Stamps: Echoes of Kindness
Card stock: Lovely Lilac, Old Olive, Whisper White, vellum
Ink: Lovely Lilac, Old Olive
Other: Black Embossing Powder, Blender Pens, Whisper White Taffeta Ribbon, Old Olive 1/4" Grosgrain Ribbon, Scalpel, Dimensionals

Catch you later,

Tina

  1. Love the embossed background and your stain glass effect looks great. Greens and purples are always a nice colour combo.
