CTC 331: CASE The Mini Catalogue

 Hi!

Welcome to the new CASEing The Catty Sunday Challenge Blog Hop. This week we are challenging you to CASE any project from the July-December Mini Catalogue.

Flipping through from the back of the catalogue, I came across this beauty in the Bundles Section of the catalogue.

I'm very much a blue girl, so this card and it's gorgeous colour combo appealed to me straight away. I modified it a little for my card, though.

I started with a dry embossed background, rather than embossing paste. I used my Score Board with the diagonal plate to score randomly spaced diagonal lines over my Balmy Blue cardstock. I then stamped the crosses image from Biggest Wish on the card in Balmy Blue ink. It's very subtle!

I used my Hand Penned Petals bundle for the flowers, with Misty Moonlight, Balmy Blue, Soft Succulent, Polished Pink and Fresh Freesia inks. I few In Colour gems in Polished Pink finished off the front.

I decorated the inside with the same stamps and colours, with just a sentiment from Celebrate Sunflowers to complete the card.

JAI 567: Just Add Inspiration

 Hi!

Welcome back to the new Just Add Ink challenge. This week we have an Inspiration Challenge for you, suggested to the team by Nikki.

Aren't the colours fabulous? Such a rich palette. I took my inspiration from both the colours and the rug on the floor for my card. I used Island Indigo, Very Vanilla, Cinnamon Cider, Calypso Coral, Mint Macaron and Basic Black.

I started with my Stitched Greenery Die on the Island Indigo cardstock. It's a great base on which to nestle the Calypso Coral Pierced Blooms flowers, don't you think?

The sentiment is a mix of Biggest Wish and Pretty Perennials. I finished off the front with a scattering of black sequins, and a swish of Wink Of Stella on the flower centres.

When I used my Stitched Greenery die on the front of the card, I cut the cardstock a little wider so that I could trim off the extra width to use on the inside. The sweet little flower was a good way to finish decorating the inside of the card.

Colour Creations: Cinnamon Cider

 Hi!

It's once again time for the Colour Creations Blog Hop. This week we are featuring Cinnamon Cider, one of the 2020-22 In Colours. If you love it, you've got less than a year left to enjoy it! It's quite a creamy brown that's a lot lighter than other browns in the SU colour range.

I thought that I'd try it with the sort of sepia effect that I usually use Soft Suede for. I stamped my image, from Beautiful Moment, in Cinnamon Cider ink onto Shimmery White cardstock. I then used a Water Brush with minimal water in the barrel to 'colour' the image. I don't pick up ink from the inkpad with the brush, I just pull the ink in from the stamped image. It's a very subtle effect! The Shimmery cardstock has a bit of a grey cast, but against the Cider it nearly looks blue - which very much suited my design!

I cut the layers under the art panel while I was watching The Block on TV. Silly mistake, as they ended up being too narrow for the card base. Oops! To compensate, I cropped a scallop border using one of the dies from the Penned Flowers set. I like how it adds the stitched line, too. To make the card a little more cohesive, I cropped the art panel using the Stitched So Sweetly dies. The scallops and stitching match very well!

I just stamped the flowers on the inside. I only inked the grass portion of the stamp to fill in the empty space below the line of flowers. I thought it would get too muddy to stamp the whole flower image in the lower sections.

Heart Of Christmas Week 6

 Hi!

Welcome to Week 6 of the Heart Of Christmas Blog Hop. Have you been Hopping with us each week? There's been lots of festive inspiration each week, and I'm sure that this week won't be different!

Aren't these papers sooo cute? They are a Sale-A-Bration freebie, called Penguin Playmates DSP. One side is adorable animals playing in the snow, that may or may not be Christmassy, depending on what's on the rest of the card. The other side of the papers are lots of prints - you can see the dotty, pine tree and snowflake paper on my card. The tag was cut using the Tailor Made Tags Dies, and the snowman was fussy cute from the DSP.

I loved the dotty paper so much, I added a strip to the inside of my card. The sentiment is from Christmas To Remember.

CTC 330: CASE The SAB Catalogue

 Hi!

Thanks for joining me on a Sunday night for the new CASEing The Catty Sunday Challenge Blog Hop. Such a crazy week in Australia, with lockdowns starting, stopping and continuing. If you're currently locked down, I hope you're doing OK.

This week we are asking you to CASE any project from the new August-September Sale-A-Bration Catalogue. It's the first time having two Sale-A-Brations in a year, so just a bit exciting! Have you chosen your favourite items yet? I find myself liking the Peaceful Prints DSP, despite not liking plaid at all! I chose this Christmas card, from page 9.

I switched it up a bit, mostly by making it a regular sized top fold card, rather than a slimline card.

I don't have the punch for the deer, so this image from the DSP was fussy cut for my card. It's no too tricky of a shape to cut by hand, thankfully! The sentiment is from Christmas To Remember, my favourite sentiment-only set from the current Mini Catalogue. I fussy cut around it, too.

The Garden Green DSP is from the Peaceful Prints pack, but the textural-looking pieces are from In Good Taste. They are cropped with one of my Stitched Triangles Dies. To help keep them straight as I adhered them to my card, I scored a few lines below where I wanted the triangles. It's a nice subtle feature, that is a big help!

I used one of the offcuts from the front, and another Garden Green triangle, to decorate the inside. You know me - I hate to waste any useable pieces!

JAI 566: Just Add A Frame

 Hi!

Thanks for joining me for the new Just Add Ink challenge. This week Jan has challenged us to Add A Frame to our cards.

I never like to do things the expected way, and I remembered a digi stamp I'd purchased ages ago that suits this challenge perfectly. It's very cheeky, but a whole lot of fun! My frame element is a walking frame!

The digi stamp is from Dr Digi and is called Duncan Disorderly. Isn't it funny? I printed him onto cardstock and coloured him with my Copic markers. I enjoyed colouring, but boy, did those studs on his belt and wristband test my eyes! The sentiment is from a Kindred Stamps set, called Rock On.

To create the background, I used my Heffy Doodle Zapp Attack Stencil to add Real Red ink to some Real Red cardstock. Nice and simple, and it doesn't detract from the main image.

I also went simple on the inside, with another sentiment from Rock On. Now I just have to work out who this card might be suitable for! It was my husband's birthday last week, but he didn't seem keen on receiving this card!

Colour Creations: Cherry Cobbler

 Hi!

Well, hello, and welcome to this week's Colour Creations Blog Hop. It's Cherry Cobbler time! Despite having to wear a very similar colour as my Winter high school uniform, I quite like Cherry Cobbler, especially for Christmas cards.

Once again, my Gingerbread Dies are the focus of my card. I haven't used the bell yet, so this was a great opportunity. I cropped the top layer from Gold Foil, making sure I added Adhesive Sheet to the back of the foil. It makes it soooo much easier to adhere to the solid layer - no messing around with liquid glue that always seems to ooze out of the sides!

My sentiment is from Christmas To Remember. I toyed around with embossing the top, Whisper White part of the card, but decided against it, as I wanted to stamp the sentiment on the layer. If I wasn't so lazy at the time, I could have clear heat-embossed an image over the card. Maybe another time!

I cropped another bell from Cherry Cobbler card to go on the inside of my card. It looked a little plain, so I used some of the bits that popped out of the foil bell on the front to fill in the Cherry Cobbler bell. I quite like how that turned out!
