Colour Creations: Mossy Meadow

Hi!

Thanks for joining me for the first Colour Creations Blog Hop of 2024. This week we are featuring Mossy Meadow, a dark green from the Neutrals family. I find Mossy Meadow to be a very heavy colour, so it's not one I use often. I've paired it with Flirty Flamingo tonight to brighten up my card.

scissorspapercard, Colour Creations, Stampin' Up! Sending Smiles Bundle, Hello Irresistible DSP, Sympathy Card

The layout and colour scheme of my card was inspired by a card that Teneale Williams made using Whimsy Wishes. I've used some Hello, Irresistible DSP as the feature panel on my card. It's my favourite paper in the pack, I think.

scissorspapercard, Colour Creations, Stampin' Up! Sending Smiles Bundle, Hello Irresistible DSP, Sympathy Card

I used one of the smaller sentiments from Sending Smiles on my card. It fits in the coordinating label so well.

I fussy cut one of the blooms from the DSP to finish off the inside of my card. I didn't stamp a sentiment so that I had plenty of room to write my message to the recipient.

There's lots more Mossy Meadow inspiration to be found, so please keep on hopping around the linked blogs until you get back to where you started. The next stop on this hop is the lovely Rosa Leyden.

Cathy Proctor, as always, has done a wonderful job of getting us all organised. If you run into problems with links, please pop on over to her blog where you'll find a list of all tonight's participants to help get you back on track.

Colour Creations: Real Red

 Hi!

Thanks for joining me for the new Colour Creations Blog Hop. This week it's Real Red's turn to shine.

I chose this gorgeous colour combo from Brian King for my card tonight. As I put on my shoes this morning, I realised why. My red sandals go nicely with my Coastal Cabana coloured toenails! LOL!

scissorspapercard, Colour Creations, Stampin' Up!, Adorable Owls, Simply Fabulous, Stampin' Blends, Sale-A-Bration

I CASEd this layout from a card I saw on Mary Fish's blog, made by Jennifer Roque of Stamp Camp With Jen. The three strips of DSP are the same, but she used flowers where I used the owls. Speaking of owls, let's not mention that I forgot that they retired yesterday! Oops!

scissorspapercard, Colour Creations, Stampin' Up!, Adorable Owls, Simply Fabulous, Stampin' Blends, Sale-A-Bration

I coloured the owl from Adorable Owls using my Stampin' Blends. You may have noticed that I snuck a little Mango Melody in for the beak and feet. Unavoidable, really! The bow and party hat came from the two other owls, I just fussy cut them so that I could use them on this owl.

Another owl was used for the inside. He looks little nervous to me, don't you think?

That's all from me for this week's Blog Hop. Please jump on over to the lovely Fiona Ryan's blog. I'm sure she's got something wonderful for you to see.

And, as always, if you run into any issues with links, please head on over to the wonderful Cathy Proctor's blog. She will have a list of all of tonight's participants to help you get back on track.

Colour Creations: Mint Macaron

 Hi!

Thanks for stopping by on your way around our Colour Creations Blog Hop this evening. It's Mint Macaron week. Hooray! As you may have guessed, it's a favourite of mine. It began as an In Colour, but eventually found it's way back as a member of the Subtles colour family in a colour refresh.

I love Mint Macaron paired with Neutrals, so I absolutely adored this colour combo from Brian King.

scissorspapercard, Colour Creations, Plentiful Plants Bundle, Tailor Made Tags Dies, Design A Daydream Host DSP

The DSP on the top part of my card is from the Design A Daydream Host DSP pack. I'm a real sucker for these tile-like patterns, so I really love this sheet of DSP. I used some Neutrals DSP on the bottom section, separated by some Very Vanilla Baker's Twine.

scissorspapercard, Colour Creations, Plentiful Plants Bundle, Tailor Made Tags Dies, Design A Daydream Host DSP

My Plentiful Plants bundle was dusted off for the feature panel. I cropped the Very Vanilla cardstock with a Tailor Made Tags die. One leaf image and the top line of the sentiment was stamped directly on the tag, with the other leaves and pot stamped on scraps and popped up over the top.

Another pot and plant was stamped on the inside, with the last two thirds of the sentiment. I love how easy it is to split sentiments when stamping with photopolymer stamps. It's so easy to ink up just the line (or two) that you need without having to fuss around with masking off bits and pieces.

Please continue your way around our blog hop tonight by jumping on over to Christine Blain's blog. I can't wait to see what she's made.

If you run into any problems with links on tonight's blog hop, please hop on over to Cathy Proctor's blog. She will have a list of all of tonight's participants and you can get yourself back on track.

Colour Creations: Early Espresso

 Hi!

Hooray, it's time for the new Colour Creations Blog Hop. It's Early Espresso week, which is such a tricky week! Early Espresso is a lovely, rich brown in the colour range, but it's sooooo hard to make a card using it as the hero colour.

Brian King once again provided a fabulous colour combination to springboard my creativity. I'm a sucker for anything Mint Macaron, and it works so well with Early Espresso. It made me think of Mint Chocolate. I toyed a while with trying to make an ice-cream card, but in the end went for cookies.

scissorspapercard, Stampin' Up!, Colour Creations, Nothing's Better Than, Biggest Wish, Love You More Than Dies, Stylish Shapes Dies

My background is just a piece of watercolour paper, with the stripes created with Mint Macaron and Sahara Sand ink. I did one colour at a time, and let the paper dry completely between colours. Once it was dry for the second time, I stamped the crosses from Biggest Wish over the top in Early Espresso ink.

scissorspapercard, Stampin' Up!, Colour Creations, Nothing's Better Than, Biggest Wish, Love You More Than Dies, Stylish Shapes Dies

The cookies, from Nothing's Better Than, were stamped in Early Espresso and Sahara Sand ink. I was worried that the Sahara would be the wrong colour, but I was pleasantly surprised to be incorrect.

scissorspapercard, Stampin' Up!, Colour Creations, Nothing's Better Than, Biggest Wish, Love You More Than Dies, Stylish Shapes Dies

I used more of the same elements on the inside of my card. The side panels were offcuts from the front panel on my card.

That's all from me for tonight, but please do continue your way around our Blog Hop. I'm sure that you'll find some new and exciting ways to incorporate Early Espresso into your crafting. The next stop is my lovely friend, Kate Morgan.

If you run into any problems, please jump on over to Catherine Proctor's blog. She does an excellent job of keeping us all organised each week. You'll find a list of all participants there to help you get back on track.

Colour Creations: Crumb Cake

 Hi!

Welcome back to the new Colour Creations Blog Hop. It's Crumb Cake week! Crumb Cake is a very popular colour from the Neutrals colour family.

I loved this colour combo from the moment that I spotted it. Brian King is on a winner again! I decided that it would look super cute with the caravan from the Tree Lot Dies.

scissorspapercard, Stampin' Up!, Colour Creations, Simply Fabulous, Tree Lot Dies, Whimsical Woodland 3DEF

I wanted a bit of texture in the Pool Party layer, so it was my new Whimsical Woodland 3DEF to the rescue. Have you spotted it in the Mini Catalogue? I hadn't noticed it until some of the AWH ladies started using it in our Heart Of Christmas blog hops of a Monday night.

scissorspapercard, Stampin' Up!, Colour Creations, Simply Fabulous, Tree Lot Dies, Whimsical Woodland 3DEF

The caravan dies layer up so well! I snipped the tyre and the stabiliser pole thingy away from the Crumb Cake layer, and added a Basic Black layer underneath. It was very easy to line up. The door was fussy cut from a Real Red die cut - I only popped a small piece of cardstock under the die, as I didn't need a whole red caravan. A quick swipe of my Basic Black marker emphasised the door handle.

scissorspapercard, Stampin' Up!, Colour Creations, Simply Fabulous, Tree Lot Dies, Whimsical Woodland 3DEF

I made a second caravan in exactly the same way for the inside of my card. And there's my new Let's Celebrate stamp set for the sentiments - I did say that I really loved it!

That's all from me for tonight, but please do continue your way around our Blog Hop. The next taste of Crumb Cake yumminess is from my wonderful friend, Andrea Sargent. You won't want to miss her visual feast!

If you run into any issues, the fabulous Catherine Proctor is the lady who keeps us all in line. Jump on over to her blog, where you'll find a list of all tonight's hoppers.

Colour Creations: Bermuda Bay

Hi!

Thanks for stopping by for our new Colour Creations Blog Hop. I love this week's feature colour - Bermuda Bay. It's a lovely mid blue-green that belongs to the Brights colour family.

I've once again looked to Brian King for a colour combo, and he hasn't disappointed. I love the pairing of Pool Party and Bermuda Bay, with Crumb Cake as an awesome neutral thrown into the mix.

scissorspapercard, Stampin' Up!, Colour Creations, Biggest Wish, Tailor Made Tags Dies, Neutrals DSP, Masculine Card

I had actually hoped to make this card with an about to be released Sale-A-Bration stamp set, called Amazing Phrasing, except that my BBB hasn't been delivered yet. The stamp has a few words in a large font that's a bit wider than the font in Biggest Wish. Can you see the shadow effect with the word 'happy'? I think it would be more effective with the SAB stamp set. I will have to try it another week with a different colour.

scissorspapercard, Stampin' Up!, Colour Creations, Biggest Wish, Tailor Made Tags Dies, Neutrals DSP, Masculine Card

I used my Tailor Made Tags dies for the focal part of the sentiment. I used the biggest tag to crop the Whisper White card, so I had to hand cut the Bermuda Bay layer underneath. It's easy enough to do when the outline is all straight lines.

scissorspapercard, Stampin' Up!, Colour Creations, Biggest Wish, Tailor Made Tags Dies, Neutrals DSP, Masculine Card

You can see the shadow effect a bit better on the inside, with just one word stamped.

Thanks for stopping by, but please do continue your way around our Bermuda Bay Blog Hop. The nest stop along the way is my Melbournian friend, Rachel Woollard.

As always, the lovely Catherine Proctor keeps everything running smoothly, so it you run into any issues with links, pop on over to her blog to help yourself to get back on track.

Colour Creations: Tahitian Tide

 Hi!

It's time once again for the new Colour Creations Blog Hop. This week we are looking at the last of the new In Colours, Tahitian Tide. It's a very bright blue that I think fits nicely into the colour range.

Brian King once again provided a lovely colour combo featuring Tahitian Tide. I wanted a colour scheme that would work for a set of cards aimed at children, and I think this fits the bill. I paired the five Sheetload Of Cards templates with the Penguin Place bundle. This bundle isn't currently available, but it will return in the upcoming Mini Catalogue. I kept with the Silver Foil feature by using my retired Balloon Punch to crop the foil.

Here's my Tahitian Tide cards all together. Aren't they a bright, happy bunch?

In case you're interested, here's the whole group of cards. To recap - I've made the same five cards using each of the five new In Colours to create a gift set for someone special. Now I just need to make a box to put them all in!

That's all from for for tonight, but please do continue your way around our blog hop. There's plenty more Tahitian Tide yumminess to be seen, starting off with my lovely friend, Sharon Davern. She's usually got a pretty awesome fancy fold for us.

Colour Creations: Sweet Sorbet

 Hi!

Hooray for a new Colour Creations Blog Hop! This week we are looking at another new In Colour - Sweet Sorbet. It's a lovely, deep pink that is definitely growing on me.

Once again I looked to Brian King for a stunning colour combo. I love the mix of pinks, and the addition of Crumb Cake is perfection. I think this is my favourite combo of the four In Colour gift card sets that I have made so far.

Here is the group together. Aren't they pretty and feminine? I thought that the die from Penned Flowers would be perfect for my Silver Foil accent piece.

Thanks for joining me, but please do continue your way around our blog hop tonight. There's plenty more Sweet Sorbet inspiration to be found, starting with Amie McIlroy.

As ever, the lovely Catherine Proctor keeps us all organised and the blog hop ticking over. If you do happen to find a broken link, just jump on over to her blog, where you'll find a list of all participants.
