Some Last Goodbyes

Hi!

One last double post with cards made with retiring products!

scissorspapercard, Stampin' Up!, Sharing Sweet Thoughts, Happy Birthday Gorgeous, Stitched Shapes Framelits, Polka Dot Basics TIEF, Naturally Eclectic DSP

My first card today is a CASE of this card by Karina Chin. There are a few differences - I used a different colour card base and top panel, and I left off the scalloped circle layer. I also placed my sentiment in a different spot. I also used a greater range of colours from the Naturally Eclectic DSP to colour my butterflies.

I love how the butterflies looks if they are in motion - they really give life to the card. Fussy cutting and popping some of them up on Dimensionals really adds to the look.

Can you see that I stamped them again on the inside, in Soft Sky ink so that they are a lovely, subtle background for the sentiment?

My second card is also a CASE, this time it's one of the cards in this post by Kate Morgan. I changed the proportions of the Petal Garden DSP pieces a little, used a different ribbon and made my sentiment panel a little fancier. Oh, and I used a different base card colour.

The flower is from the Better Together stamp set. Would you believe it's the only rose stamp I own? I coloured it with my Calypso Coral and Old Olive Blends. Did you know that the Doilies are retiring? They are being replaced by a gorgeous pearlised doily, which is so pretty!

I used a couple of off cuts to finish off the inside. The DSP comes in a 6x6 inch stack, so I seem to end up with lots of little strips of DSP. The best way to use them is on the inside!

Bye for now,

Tina

Sharing Sweet Thoughts in Tutti Frutti Lime

Hi!

Today I have a fun card for you that I made for one of my classes last month. It's such a fun, sweet card - I think it was one of my favourite class cards for January.

scissorspapercard, Stampin' Up!, Picture Perfect Birthday, Sharing Sweet Thoughts, Tutti-Frutti DSP

The new Tutti Frutti DSP has a mix of fun, colourful, fruity designs, with plainer patterns on the reverse side.

I added some Basic Black ladybirds to the sentiment, and then I decided to add some 'hidden' ladybirds too.

LOL, I couldn't resist adding a few more to the inside too. I kept thinking of ants at a picnic, but decided I'd rather have ladybirds than ants!

Bye for now,

Tina

JAI #365: Just Add A Sketch

Hi!

Here we are again on a Friday with another Just Add Ink challenge. This week it's a sketch, designed by Karren.

http://just-add-ink.blogspot.com/2017/06/just-add-ink-365sketch.html

I really like this sketch! You don't have to use the same shapes - any will do, as long as we can see the basic sketch in your card. Having said that, I ended up following it quite closely.

I used the new Ribbon Of Courage bundle that I recently purchased. It's one of those sets that I hope I don't have to use much, but I'll always keep it handy. The sentiment is from the new Ronald McDonald House Charities set, Sharing Sweet Thoughts.

The background DSP is from the Petal Garden DSP stack.  It's a 6x6 inch stack that also coordinates with the Memories and More pack of the same name. There's some really sweet florals in the pack, but also some plainer patterns. A very good mix!

I left the inside blank, apart from a few little decorations. I wanted plenty of room to write a heartfelt message to the recipient of this card.

Well, that's it for now. I hope I see your card linked up at the Just Add Ink blog!

Bye for now,

Tina
