Hi!
I'm playing along again with the CASEing the Catty Challenges, which this week was to CASE anything but a card from either of the current catalogues. After a quick flick through each, I decided to CASE the middle tag at the top of page 20.
I kept the basic parts the same - I used the same Botanical Tags die over the same piece of Wood Textures DSP, and used the same layout for the sentiment section, but otherwise I changed a lot around. If you have a look at your catalogue you can see that while I used all the same colours, I flipped a lot of them around - my tag is Fresh Fig, not Crumb Cake as in the catalogue.
I don't actually own the Botanical Bliss stamp set, so I had to improvise with what I had instead. I used the leaf die from the Botanical Tags set to create the textured base of my card. I simply cut a heap of the leaves in Crumb Cake and glued them to the base using my Fine Tip Glue. The Wood Textures DSP was brayered with Mint Macaron ink, as was the bird die from the Birds and Blooms Frameilts set. The button is from the True Gentleman pack, and sentiment label is from the Stitched Labels Framelits set. The stamp is from the Soft Sayings Kit. Finally, the Mint Macaron Twine is from the Nature's Twine set. it was took thick as it comes, so I simply pulled one of the strands out to use on the front.
I used the left over twine to finish off the inside, alongside the extra bird I cut from the scrap I'd brayered for the front. Sometimes it pays to think ahead to the inside when you're making the little bits and pieces for the front! The inside sentiment is from another card kit, this time it's the Notes Of Kindness kit.
Bye for now,
Tina

Best Birds in Nature's Poem
Hi!
Today's card is one I made for a class way back in July. I wanted to do a bit of watercolouring with my class ladies, and also to show off parts of the Share What You Love Embellishment Kit. In the end, I only used one of the labels, but it's the thought that counts!
You can see on the card that I used the larger label, but I cut it in half so that I could make twice as many cards with it. I love finding ways to stretch my crafting dollar further! The DSP is from the Nature's Poem pack. I love the subtle pattern that looks a little like some woven fabric. It's one of my favourites from the pack.
The bird was coloured to match the colours of the paper and cardstock - Grapefruit Grove and Rich Razzleberry. Bits of it look very yellow in the photo, but that's just the tones in the Grapefruit Grove as compared to Rich Razzleberry. Soft Suede and Shaded Spruce were used on the branch and leaves.
I had a flower left over from the front of the card, so I popped it on the inside beside the sentiment. It was just the perfect space for it!

Hello, Balmy Blue!
Hi!
Some of the Art With Heart team have decided to do a weekly Blog Share that highlights a different colour in our range each week. Today marks the first of the Blog Shares, and we are featuring the new colour, Balmy Blue.
Blue is one of my favourite colours, so I was very happy to kick off this new weekly event with a shade of blue. Balmy Blue is a mid-blue, but leans more towards being a softer blue. It's part of the new Subtles collection and it's a gorgeous colour.
I don't actually have anything in Balmy Blue, apart from the cardstock. I decided to make the cardstock a feature of the card by creating this layered scalloped section. It's my favourite part of the whole card!
I simply cut a heap of the smallest Stitched Shapes Circle, chopped each one in half and then layered them in alternating rows on a piece of Night Of Navy cardstock. I was surprised by how quickly and easily it came together!
You may have noticed that there's no stamping on this card - yet! It's partly because I'm waiting for my Balmy Blue inkpad to arrive, but also because I haven't decided what occasion to use this card for. It may well end up as more of a letter than a card, not requiring a sentiment at all. Who knows? LOL
Why don't you pop on over to Catherine's blog? She'll be hosting the Blog Share each week, so that's where you'll find the links to all of the people participating each time.

JAI #377: Just Add Colour
Hi!
I'm a bit excited for this week's Just Add Ink challenge!
This week it's a colour combination, suggested by Rochelle, and I think it rocks! I love the mix of blues, and the addition of Lemon Lime Twist gives it a fresh lift. What do you think?
As I was very enthused about this combo, I decided to cut loose and have a lot of fun with it. You know that fun = mess, don't you? LOL
Would you believe that there are three different stamp sets used on this card? I started with the swooshy stamp in Playful Backgrounds in Pool Party. I then stamped some splatters from Swirly Bird in Dapper Denim over the top. I then got out my Embossing Paste and added some Lemon Lime Twist, before applying it over the top of the stamping using the diamond mask from the Pattern Party Decorative Masks.
While it dried, I stamped and watercoloured the images from Best Birds. I've had this bundle for a year and hardly used it - now that I've started playing with it, I'm not sure why I haven't done so before now. It's a great set!
I sort of ran out of room for a sentiment on the front, so I had to put it in the inside. I really tried on the front, but there wasn't anywhere to put it that didn't look tacked on. Oh well, sometimes it's good to break the rules and not put one on at all.
You can see what the rest of the Design Team have created with this fun colour combo this week over at the Just Add Ink blog. We'd love to see what you do with it too.
