A Bit of Scrapping

Hi!


I'm not sure if I've blogged this layout before, but it was sitting in my 'To Blog' folder so I'm guessing that I haven't. I made it a while ago for a sketch challenge as a part of a fundraiser.

I was a bot excited to pick up an old, but still working, typewriter on a Facebook Buy Swap Sell page for a song - only $5. Bargain! As my intention is to use it in my scrapping, it was only logical to scrap about it!

What other stamp set could I use? Tap Tap Tap came in very handy!

LOL, I think I need to buy a new ribbon for it, as the current one is quite pale, but that's easily enough done.  Gotta love Ebay!

You may have noticed the title and thought "SU doesn't have a die that says tap". It doesn't! But it does have two dies in the Hello You Thinlits set that say thanks and happy. I took the t from thanks and the ap from happy to create the word tap. Too easy!


We are getting close to the end of the current Annual Catalogue, which means it's not long to the start of the new Annual Catalogue. So exciting - I can't wait!

Tap Tap Tap To Say Thanks

I found this card in my 'To Blog' folder on my computer and realised I was yet to post it on my blog. I made it quite a while ago, so it was probably about time I shared it.

The typewriter was stamped in Momento and coloured with my Blendabilities. I also used my Silver Marker to colour some of the metal bits on the image. I deliberately used a quick, messy style of colouring, as I think it suits the image.

I love the 'tap tap tap' stamp for finishing off the inside of the card.

I Like You Circle Flip Card

I quite like the Circle Card Thinlits, but I often forget to use it!  I thought the flower images from the Hostess set I Like You would work beautifully with the shaped card, and I think I was right!

I stamped the Left side of the base card with one of the smaller floral images from I Like You, and then used the happily coordinating Gold Soiree SDSP on the left side.  Have I said before how much I love that Stampin' Up! make it so easy to make things match?

The focal floral image was coloured with my Rich Razzleberry and Old Olive Blendabilities Markers. The sentiment comes from Tap Tap Tap and was the perfect size to fill the space left after the flower was stamped.

After I made (and photographed) the back of the card I decided that it would look better with another flower stamped on there.  I shifted the sentiment a little and stamped the same flower that I stamped on the left of the card.  It looked much better, but silly me forgot to photograph the new back.  Oh well!

I Like You In Wisteria Wonder

The hostess stamp set I Like You was made for the Blendabilities I think!  It's a fabulous set for colouring, especially when you are just starting out.  The smaller areas are a little easier to blend with great effect.

This card was made as a sample for a Blendabilities colouring class.  The simple white on white design of the card really lets the gorgeous flower take centre stage on the card.

You can see that I popped the smaller flower up to give a little more dimension.

This little flower on the inside is also popped up.  The main reason for this is that when you colour with Blendabilites the colour shows through on the back of the cardstock.  I didn't want the very back of my card to have colour on it, so this was a nice solution.

Tap Tap Tap

Hi!

In my last post I showed you a card that I'd made for a sketch challenge on the Art With Heart Cyber Crop day.  Today I have another card I made used using the sketch and a new stamp set called Tap Tap Tap.

As soon as I saw this set in the catalogue I loved it! I started by stamping the tap tap tap stamp repeatedly to create the circular element of the sketch.  The typewriter was stamped and the coloured using the lightest Coastal Cabana Blendabilities Marker and the Silver Stampin' Dazzle Marker.

I used the alphabet stamp on the inside to tie it in with the front of the card.

It's a fabulous stamp set and I can't wait to play some more with it.
