CTC 466: Favourite Mini Catalogue Project

 Hi!

Welcome to the new CASEing The Catty Sunday Challenge Blog Hop. Sadly, this is my final blog hop as a member of the CTC Crew - I have decided to step down from the team as lately I have been unable to devote my energy to the team as much as I have in the past. The good news is that the Crew is on the hunt for some new Crew members, so you will begin to see some fresh, new faces on the hops soon.

On to the challenge! This week we are asking you to CASE your favourite project from the current Mini Catalogue. I'm a sucker for a stripes/floral DSP combo, so this card from page 46 caught my eye.

I love the way that the top section is stamped in coordinating ink, and then stamped and heat embossed over the top. I didn't end up stamping my background, I used two pieces of DSP instead.

The Lighter Than Air DSP is so pretty! I kept the stripes on the bottom, but chose the diamonds to go on top. A strip of Lemon Lolly cardstock covers the join, and provides a base for the sentiment, from In The Moment.

I cropped the hot air balloon from another piece of the DSP, and then popped it up over a partial Everyday Details circle cropped from vellum. It helps make the balloon stand out from the background DSP.

I left the inside sentiment free, as the front sentiment is quite versatile for a few different situations. A leftover strip of DSP and cardstock was all that was needed.

We'd love for you to play along with us this week. Just make a card that CASEs your favourite project from the Mini Catalogue, take a photo and upload it to our Facebook Group.

The next stop along the way is my lovely friend, Kathryn Mangelsdorf. She's made an absolute stunner that you won't want to miss!

One final thank you to Bec and the Crew for having me as part of their wonderful team for the past 5 years. I've had a blast, and have loved getting to know the Crew members better.

Bye for now,

Tina

JAI 611: Just Add A Sketch

Hi!

Thanks for joining me for the new Just Add Ink challenge. This week we have a sketch for you, designed by Di for us.

As it turns out, I had been looking through my retired stamps collection just before I saw this sketch, and I decided immediately that the swing from Sitting Here was absolutely perfect for this sketch. I pulled out my Stampin' Blends and set about making a scene to go with it.

The only stamped elements in this card are the swing, the sentiment (In The Moment) and the leaves in the tree (Beautiful Friendship). I started by stamping the swing in Memento ink, and then using a pencil to lightly draw in a horizon line. The rest is all hand-drawn/coloured using various Blends. A white Gel Pen was used to add snow to the mountain.

I left the inside super simple. The sentiment on the front lends itself to a wide variety of situations, so I didn't stamp an inside sentiment. I will either just hand-write something, or stamp an appropriate sentiment when I decide to use the card.

Thanks again for joining me - now your job begins! Pop on over to the Just Add Ink website, where you'll find our linky for this week's sketch challenge. What do you see in it? You can also see the rest of the gorgeous cards made by our talented Design Team.

Bye for now,

Tina

CTC 351: CASE The SAB Catalogue

 Hi!

Welcome to another week of the CASEing The Catty Sunday Challenge Blog Hop. Have you had time to have a good look at your new Catalogues yet? I hope so! They are live now to customers, with plenty of gorgeous new products.

Our focus this week for our challenge, is the Sale-A-Bration catalogue. It may be small, at 20 pages, but there's still plenty of inspiration to be found.
I loved this card from page 17. I liked the layering and the DSP and the textures. Funnily enough though, in the end my card looks nothing like it!

I used the new In The Moment stamp set as my focal image, colouring it with a variety of Stampin' Blends. I took inspiration for my colours from the Expressions In Ink SDSP, that forms the background of my card.

In an attempt to replicate the layered leaves on the original card, I die cut some of the leaves from the Sunflower Dies in Gold Foil and layered them underneath the main banner.

I stamped the same image again on the inside. I deliberately left the inside sentiment-free, as it makes the card more flexible. The 'relax your way' sentiment (from A Good Man) on the front could apply in a few different scenarios, don't you think?

Our weekly challenge is run through our Facebook page, so all you need to enter is a Facebook account and a photo of your card. A blog is not essential. We'd love to see what inspires you from the Sale-A-Bration Catalogue.

Now it's time to continue your way around our blog hop. The next cab off the rank is my friend, Julia. She made a gorgeous scrapbook page for last week's challenge - I wonder what she'll make this time?

Bye for now,

Tina
