Hi!
Yay for Friday and the end of the week. Have you been staying cool here in Australia? Adelaide had an awful day on Wednesday, but thankfully only one day before the temps dropped again. It's won't be long before they are high regularly though! Hopefully my air conditioner is fixed before that happens!
This week at Just Add Ink, Di has challenged us to add two to our cards - you can choose stars, spots or sparkles, as long as you choose at least two of them. I chose spots and sparkles.
You probably don't recognise this stamps, and that's because they are new ones! I was invited by Stampin' Up! to present a new stamp set at the recent OnStage event in Sydney, and I received the gorgeous Beautiful Moments, designed by NZ Demo, Jacque Williams. The flowers and butterflies are three of the 'minor' images in the set, and the sentiment is from it also. You'll be seeing a lot more of it on my blog in the future!
I stamped the flower repeatedly across the cardstock, and then added a few of each of the two butterflies in the set. They were coloured using my Dark Mint Macaron, Dark Highland Heather, and Light Pumpkin Pie Blends. I used a piece of some old SAB Glimmer Paper in Mint Macaron to frame the flowers and butterflies.
I repeated the stamping and colouring on the inside, except that I varied the heights of the flower stamp. The less uniform stamping makes it look more natural, don't you think?
That's all from me for now, why not pop on over to the Just Add Ink blog, where you can see the rest of this week's Design team cards. Which two (or three!) will you choose for our challenge - stars, spots or sparkles?
Bye for now,
Tina

New Make A Medallion and Glimmer Paper
Hi!
Did you know that Stampin' Up! are releasing three new Sale-A-Bration choices tomorrow? Hold onto your hats, people, because these new ones will blow you away! I especially fell in love with two of them - Make A Medallion stamp set and the Glimmer Paper Assortment.
This card combines those two favourites. The layout is actually a CASE of the Emerald Envy card on the front of the new flyer.
When I got the stamp set, I sat down nearly straight away to give it a go. I just happened to have my Mint Macaron, Night of Navy and Smokey Slate inkpads on my desk, so they were the ones I used. After a few goes, I found it was best to stamp the Mint Macaron layer first, followed by the Night Of Navy and finally the Smokey Slate.
Can you see the gorgeous Mint Macaron Glimmer Paper in the photo? It's from the SAB Glimmer Paper Assortment Pack in the new SAB flyer. You get 12 sheets of 6x6 inch paper, four each of Mint Macaron, Bermuda Bay and Sweet Sugarplum. I can't wait to make this card again, this time using the Sweet Sugarplum Glimmer Paper.
If you'd like to get your hands on these new Sale-A-Bration items, just get in touch with your Demonstrator. They are free from tomorrow with a qualifying order.
Bye for now,
