Happy Birthday Flowers

Hi!

It's so good to be blogging again! I have a card for you that I made for a special friend for her birthday.

I love the Rich Razzleberry/Lucky Limeade colour combination. It works so well with the flowers from the Field Flowers stamp set.

Some more of that yummy International Bazaar DSP on this inside.

So what do you think of my new watermark? I lost my old one on my old computer, so I whipped this one up last night using PhotoShop and some content from the My Digital Studio discs.  Loving having a little taste of MDS, but I can't wait for the whole program to become available.

I'm Back!

Hi!

I hope not too many of you have got sick of waiting for me!  Sadly my old computer seems to be unrecoverable but today I got a new computer so it won't be long before I am blogging regularly again.  I lost my 'To Blog' folder on my old computer so I don't have a stash of cards ready to blog, so it may take some time.  Thanks for sticking with me!

Computer Issues

Hi!

Just popping in to say I may not be posting for a little while. My computer crashed last night and I'm not sure what's going on with it. Hopefully it's all recoverable! I'm writing this post on my iPhone - don't you love technology!!!- but I can't edit my photos well enough without my computer to do any posts. I hope I won't be gone too long as I feel really lost without blogging.

Festive Friday #40

Hi!

Yes, it's Festive Friday time again!  This time Nicole has challenged us to use buttons on our creations.  BUT you aren't just allowed to put a button or two on your card, they must be used as a feature on your card.  I decided to make a telescoping card for my project.

Isn't he cute???  I didn't have two black buttons to use as eyes so I used two of the new Vintage Faceted Buttons and backed them with pieces of black cardstock.  Works well, I think!  Here's a closer look at the face.

I used a scrap of Pumpkin Pie for his carrot nose and some Basic Black punchies for his coal mouth.  All these pieces were coated in Crystal Effects for a bit of extra effect.

Here he is part way opened.  I used some more Crystal Effect covered punchies for his coal buttons.  His hands were made with some cropped small star punchies (retired) and some strips of Basik Balck cardstock.  You can see I've lightly sponged some Sahara Sand ink around the edges of each of the circles for a bit of definition.

Finally, here he is fully opened.  The last section is the largest, and is where I'll write my message to the recipient.

Celebrate Summer Smooches

Hi!

Today  I have for you a very quick and easy girl's card featuring the Summer Smooches DSP.

The DSP is so bright and cheerful you can let it be the star of the show.

The cake was stamped using the Topsy-Turvy Celebration stamp set.  It's a cute, affordable, versatile set that can be used as a cake, a gift or even a crown.

Keeping the cheerfulness going on the inside with more of the DSP!

Triple Layer Stamping

Hi!

You've probably seen lots of Triple Layer cards on blogs lately - it's quite the rage!  I demonstrated the technique to my stamping ladies a couple of months ago and they were quite amazed at just how easy the technique is.  There's heaps of tutorials out there, so I'm not going to go through it step by step, I'll just show you my card.

 

The card was made using Bravo Burgundy ink on Very Vanilla cardstock.  I really like the Creative Elements flower stamped in the Burgundy.

The sentiment was stamped on Vellum and then the piece was wrapped around the layers so that there is no visible adhesive on the front.  A good trick with vellum!

Why don't you google triple layer stamping, or triple time stamping?  There's heaps of samples out there to inspire, including some with different sized and oriented layers.  I think I might try one of those next!

JAI Scrapbooking Challenge #10: Just Add Brights!

Here we are again, ready for another Just Add Ink Scrapbooking Challenge.  This month Delys has challenged us to use bright colours in our layouts.  I recently purchased some of Stampin' Up!'s new digital content discs so I decided to make a digital layout today.  The subject of the layout is my son Hudson's recent 5th Birthday party.

I started with a base of Daffodil Delight Polka Dot paper, which was a free download a couple of years ago.  The striped sections were embellishments in the Eventful Year Content Disc, as is the Journalling Box.  I changed the colour of the Journalling Box and the text on the page to match the teal colour in the striped paper.  I'm not sure what SU colour it is, perhaps the old Taken With Teal?

Each of the different elements were added to the page and then had the stroke effect applied to give the white border (except the journalling box), and then given a drop shadow effect.  The text was created in the same way.  If you want more information about how I created any of this layout, just drop me an email.
