Cleland Wildlife Park Layout 21

Hi!

A quick post today as I'm about to have some visitors arrive!  Today's layout captured a special moment between Hudson and me as we waited for the others to finish feeding the kangaroos.  We were playing Round and Round the Garden, a firm favourite of Hudson's.

Love his giggles in the centre photo!

Cleland Wildlife Park Layout 20

Hi!

Today's layout is an assortment of photos I took while we were feeding the kangaroos that didn't really have a place on any of the other layouts I did.  I loved the photos though and didn't want to discard them from the album so I just put them on a layout together.

I only have a handful of layouts to go in my Cleland album. I've enjoyed reminiscing about the day as I've scrapped the pictures, so I'll miss that when I've finished.  It will be nice to move onto another project though.

Cleland Wildlife Park Layout 19

Hi!

Today's layout features the kangaroos again, but this time the photos centre around Rob and Hudson.  Poor Hudson was soooo over being in the stroller by this time so Rob got him out and helped him to feed and pat the kangaroos.

I'm getting pretty close to the end of my pack of DSP, so I'm having to be creative about how I use the paper.  This time I just used two narrow strips, one down either side of the column of photos.  The main photo is popped up on dimensionals and also has some twine tied around it.

Cleland Wildlife Park Layout 18

Hi!

Some more kangaroos today.  This time I'm looking at Ada's experiences with them.  As with the other animals she would get close to feed them, but as soon as they looked interested, she'd drop the food and bolt.  So I handed the camera over to Rob and went to help her.  She wasn't keen on the idea of the animals eating directly from her hand, so I rolled down the top of the bag and showed her how to hold it out to the kangaroos.  There was no stopping her after that!  I'm glad she found the confidence to do it, as it's a pretty amazing experience.

I was so proud of her!

Cleland Wildlife Park Layout 17

Hi!

Today's layout is the first of a few showing the time we spent feeding the kangaroos.  There were so placid and I had no worries at all about letting the kids feed them.  Today's layout focuses on Alex who, as usual, had no fear and jumped right in.

I was a little nervous as Alex approached the kangaroo in the top right photo as it was as tall as he was.   It was all good though.  We'd had a few people give us their bags of feed so we had lots to give to the kangaroos.

Cleland Wildlife Park Layout 16

Hi!

Oops!  Missed a day yesterday.  For the first time ever I had all three kids at school all day (Hudson was at Kindy).  Rob also had the day off from work so we decided to indulge ourselves by going to the movies to see Harry Potter and then wandering around the shops.  It was so nice to have all that time 'off'.

Today's layout is about the emus we saw at the park.  I have never liked emus so I was very happy to stay on the other end of the camera on a long lens!  Alex and Rob got right up close and even fed them from their hands.  Ada didn't like them too much either - the closest she got was about 10 meters away.

Cleland Wildlife Park Layout 15

Hi!

Today sees me back to my layouts on Cleland Wildlife Park.  It's back to school tomorrow, so I've been successful in my little self-challenge to scrap and blog a layout a day in the school holidays.  I still have a heap more photos so I will be continuing to post them over the next week or so.  This layout was inspired by the sketch posted this week at Just Add Ink, so I decided to enter it in the challenge.

The photos were just a collection of snaps as we walked from the wallaby enclosure over to the kangaroos and emus.  We didn't see any animals along the way so it was a good chance to get some pictures of the family enjoying our day out.

I used Urban West Rub Ons as the embellishment.  They are long retired, but I love them a lot.  The long flourish section was meant to be a straight border piece, but I cut it at a section that had a bit of a gap so that I could turn it into a corner piece.  It worked nicely I think.  It fit in nicely with the sentiment rub on too.
