Hi!
Welcome back for the final Colour Creations Creative Showcase of 2020. We'll be back in 2021 with the remaining colours, but we are closing 2020 out with Mossy Meadow. It's a colour that I haven't really used much of, as it's a bit of a dirty, dark green. If you're a vintage fan you've probably used it heaps! I tend to prefer brighter greens.
I started my card with a piece of Whisper White cropped with the largest Stitched Rectangles Die. I stamped it all over with the flower image from the Joy To The World Paper Pumpkin stamp set using Mossy Meadow ink. I left quite a gap between each flower, as I wanted to keep the card light and airy. I find Mossy Meadow to be a heavy colour! The focal flower was stamped three times and then fussy cut so that I could layer it up. The bottom layer was the whole image, the middle layer was the large flower and the top layer was just the smaller flower, finished with a Rhinestone centre.
Hopefully you can see here how I embossed the floral base layer with the Subtle 3DEF in both directions. I then matted it with a thin border of Mossy Meadow card before adhering it to a Silver Foil card base.
Thanks again for joining me for the final (for 2020) Colour Creations Creative Showcase. You can find the links for the rest of this week's cards over on Catherine's blog. We'll be back on January 6th with Night Of Navy.
Bye for now,
Tina
Tina this is such a clever card and I like the way you've lightened up Mossy Meadow. I was looking at this PP stamp this week and wondering how to use it and now your card has inspired me. Thank you for creativity, inspiration and participation in the colour creations blog hop in 2020 x
ReplyDeleteThere you go, calling another of my much-loved colours "dirty"! LOL. Mossy Meadow looks lovely with lots of white, and with silver. You've done a very nice job with a colour that you don't like, Tina!
ReplyDeleteAs always your card is beautiful inside and out Tina. For someone who is not a fan of Mossy Meadow, you have certainly showcased its 'lighter' side perfectly.
ReplyDeleteLove it Tina, I love they way the insert is inlaid and your 3d flower on the front of the card is beautiful.
ReplyDeleteOh Tina, I am with you in this not being a favourite SU colour! I love that you have made the flowers stamped on the white, a lighter shade, so much more pleasant to the eye. I like the inside with the stitched die and stamping around the edge for detail and the flower in the bottom corner is fabulous!
ReplyDeleteYour card shows just what this showcase is all about, Tina. This lighter shade of Mossy Meadow is so much more appealing than its true darker, dare I say “dirty colour”, lol! Just kidding, Christine! It’s a very pretty card. I love this flower for a Christmas themed card.
ReplyDeleteMossy Meadow looks so good with Silver! I love the way you framed the inside of the card.
ReplyDeleteI like how you lightened up mossy meadow and how you've used the stitched rectangle dies on both the outside and the inside of the card.
